it's a willy's pickup.

and that one looks rough.

Its really not so bad. I'm sure it would be rough to try to make it run, but its a decent frame. it would be nice to set it down on anothe frame and see what happened  but itl be a while til i can do anything with it.

That is a '47 or '48 Willys. 4 cyl flathead. Never in or had anything to do with the military. The OHV didn't come out until 1952. The Hurricane 6 until '54. The OHC until '62. I*n 1974 I put a OHC engine (after a few mods) into a homebuilt airplane I built. When the 4cyl F head first came out it was the most powerful 4 cyl engine in mass production at the time. When the L 161 came out it was a Continental engine. 2 firsrts for Jeep.

cool willys. probably flathead 4 i'd say also. i know a guy that picked one out of a field, hardly did a thing to it and drives it around daily. and it looks kinda like that, and it looks like he did it on purpose, ratrod. i dunno how true this is but someone told me he's getting like 30 mpg.

there's about 10 wires under the hood, and 10 wires behind the dash, and a couple fuses. there's nothing to these things, its pretty cool.
