whowey Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 With my purchase of a Waggy.. I have a new project to work on... Quite a number of the CC members have pretty good tastes in auto project details. So I want to get your opinions on some details. This Waggy will be mostly for cruising around in and towing my XJ/MJ on a trailer. So a monster wheels and tires aren't going to happen... So I have a couple of options available to me. It is tough to find many options in 6-lug wheels. Option A. The ones that came on the Waggy or Option B. A set of alloys I got a couple years back with some tires I bought Both are aluminum, so I won't gain a rolling weight reduction. And both are 7 inches wide, so no width gain or loss.
comanche09 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Option A. I like the turbine style better. I just picked up a set of 10 spoke turbines in worse shape than the 10 hole flat face ones in my sig pic. I like em that much more.
-600JeepMJ Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 :brows: I say the turbine wheels but with a different center cap
freakjeep93 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 goin against the grain here . option b ive always loved rims like that.
Automan2164 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I went with option B, but Paint 'em black. Rob L.
Darren Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Turbines! That's the classy way to go. But you better clean them up real good!
Automan2164 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Hows about some pics of the waggy for those not in the loop? Rob L. 8)

Darren Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 What is up with the half Rhino half waggy grill?! You need to do something with that.
streetjeep2.5 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I'd say depends on what you do with Waggy. Kind of stock, the turbines. Lift her, and trick her out a bit, maybe the others.
Dave Stark Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 I went with option B, but Paint 'em black. Rob L. :agree: I had black ones on the XJ & they looked great.
Dirteatr717 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 turbines! for the waggy only because they look good with that car
DJM/78 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 If it were me I'd use the turbines for street and the other for a set of aggressive snow studs for the winter . As far as the turbines I would like to see someone powder coat the lower parts black and polish the bright surfaces ..
comanche09 Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 Theres a guy selling TWO waggys in my area for $1500. The one that runs is kinda beat, but the parts ones body is in great shape.... Ugh I need a bigger garage!

As far as the turbines I would like to see someone powder coat the lower parts black and polish the bright surfaces .. No studs allowed in Illinois... The Michelins on the Waggy are in good shape.. but I might pick up a set of Tread Wrights or if I don't blow all my cash on owning 4 Jeeps a set of BFG AT's for it.
MJ is dead Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 My mj came with a set of stock steelies and a set of turbines. I'm gonna paint the faces of the turbines black and use them! Turbines FTW
