justinquilliam Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 pulled the transfercase, the tranny, disconnected the wiring. pulled of the intake and exhaust manifold and cleaned it up for paint.
DirtyComanche Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 I imagine there really isn't much wiring to that engine, once you boil it all down.
justinquilliam Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 cut 3 more inches out of the back of the bed. after fitting the engine in and out a few times, i decided to cut out the fire wall to get the engine to set back where it should be and the tranny shifter fell right in where the stock shifter would be and i startedd cutting off all the brackets for the suspension to plate the frame with 1/8 inch plate.
WahooSteeler Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Thanks for posting so many pics, I look forward to all your new posts, awesome project.
justinquilliam Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 plateing the front frame stubs to handle the diesel this is the load leveler i borrowed from another shop. when i borrowed it, it was broken so i fixed it and a few days later they came and took it back so i decided to make my own. ill have pics of it this weekend. the ford nine inch found a new and better home
pilotblake Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I had the same idea for the hood only I cut it on the body line. And I cut my side sections from a junk chevelle hood...you know for speed. and painted.........
justinquilliam Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 the frame plating is done. i have pics of the load leveler that i made. the engine mounts from the nissan were cut down to fit between the mj frame rails, and i made my own mounts on the truck out of 1/4 inch plate. i started my tranny mount with 1/4 inch plate where the old tranny mount bolted on and 2x2 .120 box tubing for the crossmember. the down tube for my turbo won't fit around my newly plated frame and i didnt want to cut it so i need to make a new plate to go in place of the down tube and weld mandrel bent tubing to it clocked at the angle i need.
justinquilliam Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 no just a old and beat up kodak digital camera.
reson46 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 It looks like you are doing some pretty cool stuff, I just can't tell what half of it is from the blurry pictures. :ack:  Willy
justinquilliam Posted March 27, 2009 Author Posted March 27, 2009 the tranny mount is done. i bought 2 1/2 inch johnny joints to make extended radius arms.
Pete M Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Yay! radius arms! :D If you want any flex in the front axle, I suggest avoiding the poly C-bushings. I've been quite happy with my stock Ford rubber ones.
Sir Sam Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Let me guess, to get the engine to clear the front axle you had to shift it back to the point you needed to cut away on the firewall?
justinquilliam Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 i had to cut the hole in the firewall just to get the engine to fit. i move the axle ahead 1 1/2 inches to clear the oil pan.
WyoCherokee Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Seems like WAY to much work to me. lol. hope it all comes out for you
renOnv Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Good-God  Tell me your going to fabricate your own badging for that beast as well. At this point it seems unfair to give jeep all the credit for this creation.
Sir Sam Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 i had to cut the hole in the firewall just to get the engine to fit. i move the axle ahead 1 1/2 inches to clear the oil pan. Ya I had to do the same on mine, I moved the axle about 1 inch further forward, luckily my engine then cleared the firewall with only minor modifications.
justinquilliam Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 well its been 6 months since i've been able to get back to my project. but i just got my conversion kit to mount the np231 to the t19 and the box for rocks kit for the np231 dana 300 doubler. plus i got my tires mounted on my wheels i powdercoated copper.
freakjeep93 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 nice work. you may want to work on that rear lift...
justinquilliam Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 the rear springs are broke i need to replace them and i'm gonna make the front sit considerbly lower
justinquilliam Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 i got it running before i took it out of the scout and made sure it ran good but i havent been able to even think about starting in the comanche yet. i still have a full gasket set to do on it before i fire it back up.
