I just wouldn't ever pay more than $1000 for a 2.8 of ANY sort.

and especially since it's not all that nice.

Well no $#!&... You live in WI.... I can't beleive you paid 250 for a bed.... :rotfl2:

lol. the 87 was $750...in scrap (which was leftover from the rest of my projects lol).

the 89 (red swb) I had was $1300.

the black 87 I just sold a couple months ago was $600 but then $200 to get into shape.

looking at another one (rust free southern 86 2.8 liter) for $600...simply to scrap everything in it but the body, because the diesel's body is not restorable.

generally you're right, but even I'm having a hard time finding these jeeps for a good deal now.

:rotfl2: :rotf: not a power house of a motor :ack: now if that was 92 with the same kinda miles they may have some interested folks. i'd drop kick the 2.8 and put a 3.4l to bad the wasn't a variant 3.4l 24v that could mate with a ax-15 and maybe the toyota 3.4l 24v would be the option. :dunno:

there IS a bellhousing to put the 3.4 to an ax15. the late 80's/early 90's dodge dakota 4 cylinder bellhousing.

but for the cost of that conversion, the truck would have to be around $2k less initially.

"This truck was never used for anything but t drive an old man around"

Rust on top of of tailgate and tweaked rear bumper.... Old man my @$$! This truck was worked.

For $1K or less it sounds like a good parts truck for body panels, or a rust free start of a project. Then again, the engine bay is too old for a 4.0 without some mods.

Anyone ever do a MPI swap on a 2.8? I used to work on a guys s10 Blazer that had a MPI engine from a Firebird in it. It moved OK. I remember seeing that truck for sale on e-bay before, probably when the dealer was selling it.

"I purchased this Comanche from a large dealership in Alabama. It was traded in by the original owner for a brand new truck."

I'm quite familiar with this Huntsville Lincoln - Mercury dealer and they don't sell new trucks, unless he's referring to a Navigator or Mariner or something. And I thought I'd seen all the MJs around the local AO. Missed this one. :D But can't blame a guy for trying to get the most he can if some mullet is willing to pay............

I could be wrong, but I don't remember that truck being for sale in Al when it was on e-bay before. Seems like it was further north cause I had it in my "watch" folder. Aw heck, maybe it wasn't even this truck  .

Yes they do, he got this one :rotfl2:

Bad thing is he would get that price here in Columbus  I seen a 2.5 long box that looked like it had been hit by a train sale for $2,800 Last year:hmm:

Thanks CE - I never knew Lincoln made a truck. Guess you can tell I don't pay much attention to Ford products. :D

I know it's just a Ford truck, but after looking at one and how nice it was inside  I just have a hard time calling it a truck :ack:
