500 MJ
What are good brands of these? Looking at possibly buying one to use for the rest of my life and and to pass on once I'm gone... Any companies offer one that is guaranteed forever? Prices I should be expected to pay for it?
shelbyluvv
I have used and abused my ProTool from Advanced. It has a lifetime warranty too.

aemsee
I have found the half cup style to be the strongest. Especially if it has a ball bearing in the drive screw. My snap on one was over 100 bucks. The hex on the drive screw is rounded on the end so you can apply pressure then tap it with a hammer.
MiNi Beast
pitman arm puller? :hmm: What's that? :dunno:
DirtyComanche
Cut the damn thing off. Honestly. Unless I need to reuse the arm, I just cut it.

SuperWade2
Worked for me with a little "love tap"...
DirtyComanche
You will find ones that no 'love tap' is going to free. I heated the arm on a f'ing toyota until it glowed, put the puller on it, impacted the puller while having buddy (his truck) whack the $#!& out of the arm with a sledge. We cut that one off in the end.
Eagle
Pitman arm pullers are typically the heaviest-duty puller you can find in any shop ... and they still break. Do you know any friends who are professional mechanics? If so, have one of them buy you one from the Snap-On truck. Be prepared to pay handsomely.
