Sounds like a short in the lever. I would pull one from a another MJ or XJ and swap the whole lever out. Just had that done in my 89' pioneer, (had no high beams, delay or window wash). All fixed now with that one lever.

I also need to replace a 2.8 in my 86 that is blown. Been considering a jy 3.4, I will be watching this thread with great interest becouse the info seems really good on this site.

How involced is it to change the injectors?

Very nice truck, and now I am looking to put a flag on my headliner.

A topper from an S-10 will work but will be about an inch too small on every side. Will still work though.

Almost seems crazy to get so worked up over an old $1000 dollar(at best) truck. I was hoping you would get it and treat it properly. To bad you couldnt have towed it first. Keep trying the guy might just be gone for the week.

A folded piece of paper or thin piece of rubber holds the light in place very well.

I don't think the hood off of a 84 will fit an 89. The release latch is different. Unless you swap the lever and latch from the 84' as well.

I thought I got a good deal with an 86' for $400. Nice find, a can of plastic paint will help that red eyesore.

I saw some baja bed sides on the rusty's site. They are fiberglass if I remember right.

My 89 pioneer has a full cluster.

My 88 chief and 89 pioneer both has bench seats without headrests.

Actually my 89 pioneer lwb has black bumpers stock. I have seen other pioneers have black bumpers as well. Since the guage cluster is wrong I would say the pioneer stripes are not original, so the truck might be a base model. Take a soft magnet to check for hidden bondo!!

You have lotsa wheeling available to you in colorado springs up gold camp road there is tons of it.

I am in canon city. 45 minutes south of the springs. It is great to live in the dry southwest and see rust free comanches. As a result I have 3 in my driveway.
