That's a work of art! I love it

The most boring thread on CC continues. Sold my Sierra and got the Astro on the road. A few things to fix, then it's selling time. I have to rebuild the ABS module, replace an oxygen sensor, motor mount and idler pulley and she should be good to go. Should still have less than $600 all in.

Prices jumped $0.65 on Friday. Now at $4.14

Looking good so far, love the vision.

I'd suggest running a new wire from the TPS to the TCM.

Snagged a black mini console if anyone needs one. Don't have the transfer case bezel, it was ruined. Also, finally found an OE 10 slot grille and a straight "air dam". Can't wait to get it on.

How's the front bumper?

I'm an hour south in Barnwell. Don't have tons of Renix specific knowledge, but I am a mechanic. You're welcome to message me and pick my brain

Let me double check, I think I have one still from my 89

That red interior looks fantastic. Reminds me of my old 89 XJ Waggy I had.

Well, I decided to try a new throttle position sensor to fix the shifting issues and it did! I used a Car quest TPS, instead of OE just because I could return it if it didn't fix it, but it ended up fixing the problem. The old TPS was in spec for idle voltage and WOT voltage, but it scaled too quickly somehow? In my 16 years of professional auto repair, I've never seen that before. It upshifts and downshifts just fine now.

I've had mostly positive experiences with lane keep, radar cruise, etc. Except once while driving a newer F150, it saw SC white sand spilled out onto the road from the end of a dirt road and read it as a white line and yanked me over into the oncoming lane. Thankfully there was nobody coming, but it was right before a blind hill. My main gripe is price of repair. F150s with the radar blind spot detection in the taillights? Had a farmer crack both lenses on a 2 year old truck. Rain got in, shorted out the CAN bus, took out radio, gauges, windows, mirrors, AC, you name it. Replacement cost for 2 taillights was near $2k.

Congrats man! Lots of changes. Truck looks great

Something didn't feel right with the axle, had too much driveline lash, even though gear backlash was fine. Finally figured it out to be absolutely wiped LSD friction plates in the Trak Lol diff. The passenger side was 0.102" thinner than spec. Driver's side was only .013" under. Allowed too much play in the spiders. Got a Ford Racing rebuild kit to go in this weekend.

Hooked up the $12k Snappy scanner today to watch the trans data. It's about what I was thinking, when it was delaying shifts, the solenoids are not being commanded. The speed sensor is reading fine, my issue must with the TPS. The scanner reports TPS in 8 steps, 0-7. Closed throttle reads 0, but it ramps very fast to 4 and 5, I'm talking about maybe 15-20% throttle. It goes through 1-4 in less than 1/2" of pedal travel from rest. Like a maintain cruising speed amount. It will only upshift under 3300RPM or so at TPS level 3 or under. It will downshift at level 5 or over. Explains why it's soo touchy. My TPS 5v and ground are fine, I'm reading about 0.56V closed throttle. FSM just says it should be greater than 0.2V and less than 1V. I don't know why it ramps the throttle numbers so fast. TCU shares TPS signal voltage and ground with ECM. Any ideas? Mopar TPS are discontinued

I've installed several Jasper engines/transmissions. They are generally solid and have good customer service.

During the swap, I carried over the TCU, harness and transmission all from the same vehicle. I'll double check all my grounds but I made sure to clean all grounding points when I went in. Haven't had time to check any of this yet, I live half a mile from work so it almost never has time to get up to temp, even after warming up by remote start these mornings, my rad temp is ~95F by the time I get to work

Coming along nicely! Should be a great commuter

Battery voltage is pretty steady at 14.1V My speedometer is reading fairly high now after regearing. From the charts I've found, I need a 40 tooth speed sensor gear. Any places that have them for less than $40? Could the incorrect speed sensor gear cause issues?
