  1. Just noticed... I forgot this: :brows:
  2. So what I'm concerned about here, is Who's the blonde?
  3. i have an engine leveler. I throw the chain through it, and get out a few extra exhaust header bolts I always have laying around, and hook the chain to a spot on the lower back passenger of the engine, and the lower front driver. I then bring an extra chain down to the rear driver of the block, and it keeps it very stable, and with the tranny and tcase attatched, both emptied on their fluids, the entire drivetrain sits completely level, and is very easy to handle by a single person. This is with a 4.0 though...
  4. I've always done Ujoints on my own, and never had a problem. Only problem's with ujoints Ive ever had come back to me were due to driver stupidity...
  5. Ehem. Stealing Ideas, Are We?:D You'll probably get to it first, but its in the line for the next one that falls into my hands!
  6. Wait till you seem mine!
  7. I always used a Hunter Road Force Balancer. If you can take a look at the machine, Its kind of similar to a standard balancer, but you'll notice it has a full computer integrated into it, along with a drum that comes down and contacts the tire from somewhat behind the machine. The drum looks like it's coated in 60 grit sand paper, and puts I think up to a 3500LB pressure onto the tire, and it reads the profile, and stuff, and is very sensitive. Also, there are hand drawn arms that extend out to measure the rim "runout" essentially, how warped the rim is side to side and up and down. Very expensive machine, I was one of the few not to break the damn thing at school... :D It was down often from people not being careful setting the lug thing to the right size/pattern for different rims. Standard wheel balancer: Road force balancer (not all the extra doodads hanging off the side and computer interface):
  8. Nope. New isn't necessarily perfect. Manufacturer defects, and the occasional one that didn't have as superior of a build quality, but it's not visible when leaving the factory. My buddy's TJ, all the sudden, one day, it would ride fine till about 35mph, and then all hell would break loose for vibration. Threw it up on a lift, balanced and rotated the tires, tightened any bolt you could set your eyes on underneath, shook everything checking for worn out bushings or anything, seemed perfectly fine. take it out for a test drive, did it again, but slightly different feeling, about the same speed. Back on the lift, pull all the tires, road force balance them, and quickly notice one is a little egg shaped. a section of tire, the entire width of the tire, and about 15-18 inches long was about 1/4" higher than the rest of the tire. Put that on the spare tire carrier, balanced the spare before installing, threw all the tires back on and handed the keys to my buddy. He was quite happy. When he asked what the problem was, I showed him the tire on the carrier, and he was quite surprised. The tires had under 2500 miles on them when this all happened. Only thing I miss about college was the 2 post lifts and the road force balancer...
  9. I'd put 99 dollars and 99 cents down on it being a Dana 35. It's all too common... Get a pic of the differential cover though, and someone will reply with the definitive answer in under 30 seconds.
  10. I think tape from 4 different rolls made it onto that box. Only one of which was Scotch brand... mmmmmm...... Scotch..... Thanks!
  11. Smells like a road forced tire to me.
  12. I see a few roaming the streets, so yes. My version? I'll find a wrecked audi to make it legal... :D
  13. It's a symptom of a car owner's disease that first appeared in this country in the 1950's. It mainly affected those people who owned vehicles that were not capable of anything otherwise remarkable. For the most part, the disease is on the decline but still somewhat prevalent in high density urban envrionments. Expert agree that it can be contracted through close association with a contagious person or in some cases, completely hereditary. It may run its course and disappear in a generation or two because close prolonged exposure to high powered sounds below 700 cycles causes sterility. :rotfl2: Don't forget, the "lowering" fad had a large gathering in the mid to late 80's with such deceased magazines as Lowrider. There was also a fact I read somewhere that mentioned people who lower their care also lower the chances of reproduction by 87% for having a female, and 96% for having a male. The fact also went on to mention that artificial insemination only has a 3-5% increase in chances over the losses of helping with reproduction. There is a cure though, although it was very vague about bringing the "fixing" the vehicle in question. :D
  14. What about Cat Woman and Poison Ivy? They are humpable... :brows: BTW, that's a lot of rust...
  15. A little twist with audi styling for the MJ? :brows: The key in in the photo...
  16. Only suggestion I have is to cover the holes in the frame stiffeners up front. The leave a place for water to sit, not good...
  17. What does not having a piece of paper have to do with prison? Unless your planning on attempted murder or something for not getting the paper... In that case, I would send them a nice package of toilet paper, the kind that leaves your hind quarters with raw skin...
  18. My sister's wrangler showed a bad O2 sensor before...
  19. HAHAH I can see the title now: Direct of Things that are Cool. There ya go! :D
  20. Well, this morning, while I was waiting for my mom to come out of the house, I was charging her battery up, and was checking out a sticker under the hood of her 99 Dodge Van. I'm not sure which one it is, but I think it's a 1/4-1/2 ton van. Anyways, I noticed it's a DCX 8.25 rear axle sitting under there, and the shafts are 5/5.5 bolt pattern for an easy upgrade out back. Good info for anyone who can use it.
  21. No, I would ask the same question, but I don't lower vehicles... I just lift em...
  22. if it was just you, I must have been seeing a mirage... it looked pretty crappy, if I do say so myself...
  23. Well, that makes me on the wrong coast...
  24. I'll look into it, but I'm not 100% positive if it is webhost set. It might be part of the deal where if you use say phpbb, it might have a value somewhere to add the image, I think its a 16x16px .gif image. It's been a while since Ive done much in the web design thingy. It was a "fad" for me... Now I use pre-built engines to drive websites, and do only minor editing to get them the way i want...
  25. I do...
