  1. I need to find the website, but it searches the vast coverage areas of craigslist and stuff, not just around your town. I'm not saying ebay can't get you the truck cheap, but its sort of too many people use ebay now that deals arent what they used to be. Also, try places such as ubid.com and other big, but lesser used auction sites. Also, Auto Trader, Swap Sheet, and other online/print media can get gems for you.
  2. The axle will get tucked back, essentially shortening the wheel base, and it will get pushed off to the driver side when it gets dropped down. As for brakes, even if D35 crap stuck on the 44, it would not do justice. The 44 stuff will be heavier duty. It is slightly more expensive, but shouldn't be very bad at all.
  3. John, you know you can find a MJ in better5 condition for 3-4 g's tops, right? I know they can be had, you just have to look elsewhere, eBay is like the plague for paying too much, even if it is in good shape. If you want, I can assist in the search for much cheaper ones in great shape. I don't want to see you burn too much on a rig, and not have enough to mod it, or your other rigs!
  4. Just like this one:
  5. look into good surge suppressors, yes, they run about $100 each, but they are very good insurance against replacing all of that stuff, because when the big screen goes, your gonna be pissed, not because it was a good one, but because of how heavy the damn thing is going to be...
  6. Yes, Project Flower Power, or whatever it was nicknamed while it was being designed. Styled similarly like the old racing GT's from the 60's, but modernized, faster, and more stable. One hell of a car to die for. And it is registered in NY as a street car, which is pretty rad.
  7. No, I needed a way of keeping busy and not making a ton of noise to really piss my neighbor off, damn asshat threw a party... Oh well, I got to have fun doing some axle work, and see some sweet cars, my weekend was 2 thumbs up!
  8. Hey Mario! Welcome to the club, Beer is in the fridge. The tan bench in the corner is JeepcoMJ's, and we're not quite sure what he's done to it... :D I think the previous owner's butt got a little hungry... Thanks for the idea of a headliner for my truck... Now, just where to find me prirate flag???
  9. You should have 2 cables that go to the floor shafter. One will go up to the steering column, to lock it from shifting, when the key is in the off position, and the other goes to the tranny. I know on the newer Jeeps, the two can not be screwed up, due to how they connect. Mine (98) goes through the firewall just under the all the wires that go in to meet to my TCU, about a 1-1/4" hole.
  10. No, I was helping a girl with her Jeep, at her Neighbor's shop, next door. His shop has the nice collection. There are two different people.
  11. The little background story: This past weekend, I was helping out my friend do her rear brakes, and we decided to axle seals and bearings. While the rear end was apart, I noticed a few broken parts. Turns up she had a very rare Dana 35 with a trash locker, great, can't find parts in stock anywhere for it on a Saturday night, or a Sunday, and it had to be back together for tomorrow. Well, I had an extra D35 laying around, so we swapped in a open carrier to keep it running for her, and her complaint noise went away, so thats a good thing too. (here's where it gets good) We were talking about his collection of cars which consisted of a 67 Ford Torino GT, and a 68 Mustang Fastback, and he mentioned his dad has a few more toys in the other part of the shop, along with his mid 70's Arctic Cat Panther (snowmobile with a Wankel under the hood), so we take a stroll over there, to reveal nothing other than 2 vipers, a 69 camaro, a 68 mustang, a dual turbo dodge stealth, and wait for it... Wait for it... Wait.... Your getting there.... Can you guess??? This is hard to keep in.... A 2006 Ford GT, red with white stripes, pure sex to my eyes! I told him I'm taking it for a ride next time I am up there, and cruising the rich neighborhoods with it to go find me a woman...
  12. I brought the threadjacking back around here. If anyone needs any 4bt info, or a source for a 4bt, and transmissions, I can put you in contact with my buddy, he has a bunch sitting around, and has converted his 98ZJ to a 4bt with a turbo 400 tranny, followed by the original NV231.
  13. Not too far from me, we should start a Ontario MJ Club, Seems to be a lot of MJ's in Ontario, mostly southern and central ontario. I'm a stone's throw away from Ontario... Well, OK, about 3 football fields away... Damn river....
  14. I have a add on cup holder, it has a small cut out for one of those radio shack style switches that has the bezel $3+shipping and it can be yours.
  15. I have one that needs a new home...
  16. Nice Eh-Dubbya-Four. Mine's dirtier! :D
  17. How old is your battery? Also, the starter could be taking a $#!&. My old ranger, same symptoms, was the battery, as it had a new starter. My sister's YJ had a brand new yellow top, same symptoms, and I had to replace the starter. if you can, borrow a friend's battery for 5 minutes that's less than a year old, and drop it in, and just check it..
  18. My sister's warn m8000 doesnt either. the bolts that go into the bumper provide your lateral strength, those bars would do very little, no real need for the lower bars. My M8000 has the bars, The bars provide additional lateral support for off-center pulls. Maybe it does have bars on the bottom... It's a few hundred miles away in Westchester county right now, so I can't simply look at it...
  19. I'll know more on steering stuff in a little bit. I'm thinking about what to do about steering linkage as the 2wd stuff is just weak looking, and the ends need replacement anyways. I've been discussing it with my buddy who runs a offroad shop, he's given me some ideas so far, but we're going to try to narrow it down tho what will be the most beneficial, and strongest for offroad and on road use. It will probably end up being mostly custom built stuff though.
  20. The YJ had an nv4500 swap a few years ago by the PO. I know all the details, and he had the flywheel machined, has no problems. clutch fully disengages, and engages fully as well, no problems.
  21. I've got a 97+ hatch and tails if you want to do a full 97+ exterior swap...
  22. I agree. Would it be possible to add in more corner protection, like this (for an idea)?: Bring it up to the wheel well though.
  23. I think he means it would be sold as a complete kit, missing nothing, but you select coil/shock/etc brand when ordering Oh, and I'd love a L/A kit, when I get the coin! Will the crossmember double as a belly skid, or maybe even triple with the control arm mounts, or what? Personally, I would think the best design would be long arm brackets that double as frame stiffeners, and go a good 2-2.5ft back on the frame, with provisions for bolting the skid/crossmember onto the frame stiffener to tie everything together, but not actually unbolt the frame stiffener from the unibody if you need to drop the skid/crossmember, if you know what I'm saying here. Also, would you by any chance consider doing an all around L/A kit, to 3 or 4 link the rear as well? That would be a sick kit!
