I went about doing mine a different route, but basically, youll need an auto tranny, auto brake pedal assembly, the tunnel plate, along with the shifter, and any cables, (if you want to do it right, the cable that goes to the steering column, along with the column), ECU, some wiring, and I think thats about it. Oh, and a long weekend with nothing else to do is useful.

Then we could never lower the tailgate to pick up those 3 or so extra MPG :roll:Funny thing here is the tailgate being down gives you crappier mileage. the best way is a tonneu cover, or leaving the tailgate up. Seriously, it was done on mythbusters, and I've noticed differences back when I had my ranger, before they even tested it. The tailgate being up creates a air bubble in the bed of the truck, up to the roof. this forces the air coming over the cab to go over the tailgate. and not catch on anything in the bed. theres a diagram somewhere on the net, I'm sure, but its a noticeable difference to have it up to save the MPGs.

Be a perfect time for you to do the dash... :D Really complete the newer look inside and out.

Has it ever Occurred to you to put the plate on the tailgate? not hard to run 2 wires up to it for a trailer light. My tailgate will be nice when its done.

Well, the only thing I can see that would immediately kill off all civilization is a asteroid hitting the earth dead on. at least 1/4 the size of the earth. This isn't very likely though. Second to an asteroid would be if somehow the earth's gravitational pull just let loose like an old geaser's bowels. again, highly unlikely. At least we would all get to experience true weightlessness for a few days though, and actually fly around. Would probably make sleeping VERY comfy too... Third to an asteroid, and second to released gravitational pull, one hell of a war, and it would take a lot. I would say a war of such magnitude would be H-bombs hitting 5 miles from one another, covering an entire continent, and all the radioactive stuff slowly creeping its way around the world. This would take a good, oh, lets say, 25-30yrs for a massive, non-concentrated effect to really take hold, and just kill everyone off with cancer. The final way, is if all the low life's from the hood take over the world, but I think our chances of getting punched in the face with an asteroid are much higher.

OOOOH.... I just came up with a pretty simple idea to keep the current linkage, a stock handle, and make it not connect to the body. Essentially, make a small bracket that crosses under the linkage, and lead that up to a hacked up version of the body mount bracket, weld these together, and then weld to the tranny mounted plate, and your all good. add a little bracing to it, and it will be perfect, and work like stock, but not pop off the body.
