  1. How the friggin hell am I going to fit my sending unit in there?!?! I want to try to keep some room availible in the bed of the truck... I may find may find myself at the tractor supply store to find a fuel cell on a similar size for my new gas tank...
  2. Believe me, there is still a fair profit margin if I were to make a set of LCA brackets for $20 shipped. I'd probably do $25 though to be more "on par" with everyone else who is $35+ before shipping.
  3. Buy me a PlasmaCam, and I'll make custom gussets and brackets for you. I have a bunch of steel laying around... I'm considering toying around with my credit card on one right now... :brows:
  4. I/m not sure, I know the tcase end comes out by one bolt, and then a good tug job. The speedo end, I pryed the plastic part away, but i think I broke the plstic part doing it... I went electronic anyways, so I could care less... :D Just be careful on the speedo end.
  5. Transfercase tailshaft housing. You will see a cable go in right there. it leads up, alongside fuel/brake lines, and into the firewall, to the back of the gauge cluster.
  6. I need to know what the top of the tank looks like, so I know if it's possible to move the 98 XJ pump/sending unit into the 88 tank, or if the 98 tank will need to be retrofitted or what... Thanks in advance!
  7. Dumbass idea just led to another $12 investment... I need me a laser cutter now... Damn website... :D Looking at how much metal costs, along with the prices brackets go for, there's a large gap to allow for competitors...
  8. To my knowledge, Napa does not sell and axle/control arm brackets or leaf perches.

  10. I have a bunch of 1/4" plate laying around, so i took a few marked pieces over to my buddies, and used his plasma cutter and cut out my own brackets. Clamped everything onto a control arm, and welded the support gusset on. Now, I need to motivate myself to get the axle located under the MJ, and weld the brackets on. I have an extra set of brackets for LCA's already made, I just haven't found a use for them, although, If I decide to go with a coil setup out back, I'll be putting them to use this winter. I'm still not sure about that though... Essentially, look at the thickness of your current LCA brackets. Picture that 3x as thick, and with the eye moved farther back, I will have about 4" more articulation (control arm will never touch the coil bucket) and the eye is also tucked up, so I have about 2" more clearance to the LCA from the ground.
  11. I'm a dumbass, read the list backwards.... Sweet, looks like it will get dropped at the same time I get to send a box off! The one time though, they did ship something, and it went all around the damn country TWICE before finally making it's round back to me... That really had me confused, and somehow, it only took 6 days that time... And RE is slow at sending these brackets, I ordered like 2 weeks ago... Oh well, I know they are a good MFGer, so I'm happy to sport their stuff!
  12. Smells like it's time for a V8 Swap :brows: Welcome, Beer's in the fridge, and you might want to stay clear of JeepcoMJ's tan bench in the corner.
  13. Click me! This is the shipment for my new Leaf Perches from RE. UPS isn't saying where they actually ship from, then, they take my brackets from Illinois to California, out and around that dreaded state, and then They will take it to Texas, Florida, Oklahomo, West Virgin, Maine, and Finally make the loop to my door. As far as I'm concerned, their system is very inefficient. Get me 10,000,000 bucks, and I will make a real service with much greater efficiency, and probably even faster delivery times, and probably net a higher profit off the same shipping costs.
  14. Whatever floats your boat. I think it looks fine.
  15. Firstly, I'm breaking this discussion off this thread, to keep things semi-on topic over there. If you are in need of some sides, Please post below, as I will use this thread to show as how much interest there is, even if it is a limited run of them. I am going to get in contact with some people I know, and see about having SWB Bedsides made available for sale. These would be complete weld-in/rivet-in sides, as well as quarters, or patch panels. I am willing to donate my bedsides to the cause if one of my contacts comes through. If they come through, I am sure they would also make LWB sides as well, so that everyone is covered. Loosing my bedsides isn't really a big deal to me, I have an idea to replace them anyways, so it would probably be bound to happen sometime anyways. (The idea is use the existing bed, less the skins, and add in some aluminum service boxes, but not extending past the current width of the truck.)
  16. I love unique looking anchors... Get some really funny looks throwing that old head into the water as others cruise by...
  17. I need that for my NY plate... :D
  18. About the only thing I actually miss about College...

    My house!

Lookin good! Are you moved in yet, or how long till that happens?
  21. I'm just going to lay claims to a few mountains somewheres, and build myself a nice log cabin and expand it every year till I have a big and nice lodge. Hand built, with the help of the MJ to pull logs and pull the pulley system to hoist them up. :D OK, well, that's my dream... In all reality, I'd like to get my grandpa's property, 60+ acres of which, 20 is wooded, the rest is farm land, and theres a 40x80 shop on the land with foundation to add another 20x40 addition on the back. Theres some hills and fun stuff, a few ponds, streams, and a sand hill...
  22. Watch out for pickpocket's. Don't fall into any scams, and basically, bring a couple guns just in case, and a nice sharp knife as a backup. other than that, enjoy annoying people (I've met a few Nigerians, and they are rather rude, obnoxious, and don't know when to ends stuff.)
  23. I can pull an 8.8 from my local yard for $100 on a expensive day, but I went with my 8.25 because it's right up there in strength with a D44, and still has a decent aftermarket for lockers, shafts, LS's, and diff covers and what not. I don't see a full float kit avail for it, but I don't see a reason I need one either. Also, the axle was sitting around, and had either of 2 destinations if I weren't to use it: Give it to my buddy at the 4x4 shop, or sell it myself... Honestly, I think a lot of people overlook the 8.25 as an option (like it's a POS stock D35 or something), I'll be swapping discs onto mine in just a few short weeks, so watch out for the easy as hell writeup, that seems to be non existent elsewhere right now...
  24. Crown Vic discs seem to adapt to alot of things...
