  1. How are you doing the FI setup? Will you block off the injector holes, and have the fuel injected through the carb or whatever you call it? Custom intake manifold? Figure out how to re-use the injectors? Pardon my ignorance, if it was already answered, but I don't see anything about it.
  2. Here's what I want to do with the next XJ I bring home: I'd move the axle forward about 8 inches to make it more balanced, seal off the rear doors, leave all the trim in place insides, including the dash, but the dash will be modified make it one continuous flat floor, and work a decent mattress inside of it. The front would essentially be cut off right in front of the cowl, and build in some sort of AC/Heat thing, possibly using the stock stuff under the dash. The tunnel for the driveshaft and transmission would be come completely flat with the floorpan, and then a floor added above that, so when the front doors are opened, there is some space under the floor to store more stuff (tents, food, tools, parts). Use a stock D35 axle, but take the spiders out, leaving only the side Gears for the C clips to seat to. No ring or pinion either, and just fill it with some fluid to keep everything lubed. Add in a roof rack, and paint the trailer to match the MJ. What are your ideas?
  3. Looking very sharp. I like the colorful setup you have. Makes it stand out.
  4. Four eyed nerd! :D
  5. Find a parts XJ in a JY or bring home a hardly wrecked XJ to part out... I have my JY buddy searching for a good candidate for me, as the XJ I bought and stripped had a cracked header, and busted driver side lights as well.
  6. They are all random. Like I can go in 10 pages, and finally find another thread dated today. Either way, I think I'm done with NAXJA, unless they go back to their old ways. I do agree about the garbage threads, but I didn't notice very many in the classifieds section, which was the only section I used.
  7. That's understandable, but the thing is, I didn't see any notice of it happening. They just decided to put it into effect overnight, it seems. I personally would be more than happy to pay 10 bucks a year or whatever to be a member here. but what I don't support is the fact that they just throw it in everyone's face with no warning. Also, their board system sucks in the fact that the threads are in no dated order. I get something with the last post being from may, and the next is from today, next is from last august, and so forth, It makes trying to browse the forum a headache.
  8. What's a d35 call for?I was told 3.5 quarts, but only have been able to get around 2.5 in. It's kind of needed info, for my daily driver ZJ...

    Me new here

What a load that must have been  LOL Welcome to Comanche Club.
  10. In the past week, what have you accomplished, and what have you put off again? Accomplished: New rear axle in my ZJ so it doesn't make a horrid sound while going down the road, the nex axle has the same problem, but not nearly as bad, so when I get the cash, I'm going to send it to my buddy and have him fix the pinion bearings... Procrastinated: YJ needs another new u-joint. We thought the tranny mount was on it's way out, but the other day, the the tranny was shaking side to side worse and worse at such a fast interval that when I looked underneath, the u-joint was about 30* off where it was supposed to be, problem found... Now, I need to get it done, and I've put it off for 4 days now...
  11. Header panel, anything that attaches to it, and fenders just keep the look clean. You can do it without fenders (I guess... ) But it won't look right.
  12. Another idea to add onto the cross brace would be to build it into a skid plate, add some more mounting points farther back, and that will let you slide up onto stuff easier.
  13. No, more like "get that thing out of here by next weekend!!!" She would know what it was, my mom knows her jeeps quite well, seeing between me and my sister have had a totally of like 12 Jeeps now... I just finally got her off my back since I took the two scrap ones to the JY. We also have a few neighbors who complained, meaning now, anything that don't go on the road better get hidden, or dismantled and gone pretty quickly. My mom doesn't really mind too much about having the stuff, it's more of the fact of the 3rd warning from the town and the next will result in a $250 fine, or 15 days with big bubba.
  14. I like yours better, Pete. :D
  15. Newer Dodge's had the HP, but with ball joints, right?
  16. Yea, I just passed up a front HP/KP 60 out of a 79 ford, with matching rear 60. $200 was the tag on em. I gotta get Rockwells though for the project those would have gone under... Gotta love JY finds... Actually, there is another truck like that sitting there, and I could get the axles for the same price.
  17. Come to think of it... I just did the same thing, but with a 99 WJ. Getting the engine, tranny, all the wiring, and pretty much anything from the dash forward. It was cut just behind the front seats, and about half way up the A pillars. So yea, half a Jeep. But it's not going back into a Jeep, It will be the powerplant for the Bruiser. The 4.7L with the 545RFE tranny. I wonder what my mom will say when I bring that half a Jeep home...
  18. :needpics: Somebody had to... :D
  19. Why didn't you just get the entire XJ? Could have gotten what you needed out of the engine bay, and make the rest a trailer or something useful.
  20. Xtreme 4x4 did some square tubing with a yoke on one end, the other with nothing. the other part of the shaft's OD was the same as the first shaft's ID, and coated liberally with some synthetic grease. essentially, about 1.5ft of the "slip spline". I think it was on the old cj-7 beater jeep project they had. Also, I think the thicknesses of the tubing were about 1/4" or more, so it was a fairly sturdy set up on the cheap.
  21. Yea, Just the other day, I wanted to post some rear RE leafs for an xj for a buddy, and found that out... That is going to make me stop cruising the sale ones, and keep to the freebies, if anyone even posts anymore... I also think craigslist is pretty good, but should also have like along side all the local sites, a national one, just for auto stuff.
  22. theres a 48 or 49 willy's cj-2a around here for sale. The dude is also selling his CJ-7, unless one, or both sold between when I worked last, and now (about a week)... I can get you the info if you want it.
  23. The funny thing being that that header is what appears to be Borla's images, not that guy's own. He didn't use any genuine pictures of his own.
