  1. I have no kids, no wife, no woman. My jeep is what I get to come home to... And my mom...
  2. Focusing on rims, suspensions, rocker guards, pretty much any accessories. like, if you have it focused on a certain part, just post what it is, so I can blend the picture around it, and make it stand out better. I think that makes sense. Oh, and the more hardcore, the better.
  3. Working on that. I'm working on alot of stuff for it, but it sounds like I have a huge brand coming aboard, although, they offer nothing more than wheels to fit a MJ...
  4. Thats why Paragon is (was  ) so great! Oh, and finally got the issue in the mail! In the red Rubi, is my sister, and our club treasurer, Jeff. The white XJ in the background is another member, Eric. I'll have to pull up the images of their rigs going through there. also, really close to the fold of the magazine in the picture of the line waiting to pay, and get bracelets and stuff, you can see Jeff (the tall guy) my sister is to the right of him, Me, Eric, and a few other members are hidden behind the wall of people. His also made page 3, with the page number of the article. I have never seen so many rigs at the same place. It by far tops any other jamboree or anything I've been to...
  5. Check those bearing journals over, and make sure they are good. I see the pistons are kind of loosely put in the box, so just as a precaution.
  6. Hey, I know I'm probably getting that new job and all, but I am also in the beginning stages of building an online store (similar to that of 4wd and quadratec). I was wondering if anyone here may have an image they would like to donate, that was either taken by yourself, of your own rig, or your camera handed to a fellow off-roader to take a picture while you were doing some obstacle. The legal part in regular people's terms would be that you are giving me full permission to use the image for commercial use and release all liabilities. As a compensation, once everything is up and running, I can either discount, or refund part of your purchase, if you so decide to buy anything from me. My own MJ doesn't qualify for what I'm looking for, as it hasn't met a trail yet, and it needs some surgery to meet a trail. Any questions? please post below. The image will be used at either the start page, located at http://swatoffroad.com, or the catalog main page, located at http://swatoffroad.com/cart, or maybe even both. It will be accompanied by several other rigs, most likely jeep, but I am going to try to expand beyond just Jeep products, so it may end up being a Ford Truck, or a buggy or something. Also, if you have something other than a MJ that you would like to submit, please, by all means, submit it, but it MUST be an image that was taken by you, or of your own rig, for legal reasons.
  7. Job freeze sucks. I got booted out completely, no paycheck, because "there is no work" or so they say... Fruckers... I actually think they wanted to get rid of me. Two full time (not temp/PT's) got hired in the day after I wasn't there anymore. This I know for two reasons. Their parents are high up in the food chain, and had visited the department several times while I was there, inquiring about jobs for their offspring. The way I hear it (was talking with a co-worker this morning) is that they are making more money than me, as they aren't temps, and nobody else was told to leave due to slow work. And it wasn't slow when I was told to leave, so it smells like a couple of rotten fish to me... I hope a stray missile hits that building some night, directly in the compressed gasses room, where it will most certainly level the entire building, so everyone who was a bi+ch to me can feel the financial pain. Oh, and working outside won't blow. I'll have fans blasting at me, if I'm standing around, or I'll be in a something to drive around, so it won't be as bad.
  8. On those two days, we ran a mostly blacks and the greens that connect them greens around the perimeter of the park and a few more trails to the eastern side. I think a little bit of everything. But some of those greens and blues were worse then a black on a dry summer day, with all the ice that was there.
  9. Oh, and thanks for the wishes of good luck. This area sucks for wheeling (Wildman knows it, Rob S probably has an idea as well, but Crotch-Chester isn't as bad as here...) Anyways, might be heavy equipment operations, might be dumb $#!& around the job sites, not sure yet, but much better financially, and physically/mentally for me. The current job, or lack thereof, the boss is just a plain b-i-t-c-h. Only getting paid 8/hr (where the hell is a pay check from this past week??? I GOT LAID OFF!!!) I sit on my arse all day, doing nothing. Only money from this past week was made by a few trips to the JY, and a few of you purchasing surprises. Thanks again to all who bought stuff from me. New job will get me active, and in shape or at least more than I am now. It will support multiple projects, and paying off the school loan with ease. I'm going to see about at least bringing the Comanche with me, and keep it at the job site so I can work on it when there isn't anything to do, as well as when I'm done with the job for the day. I really want to get it built, running, and DD it, and get rid of my ZJ. Once the MJ is done, then I can begin all the fun stuff on the Bruiser.
  10. Possibly, but an 08' Rubi Unlimited would be mighty fun too... I'd convert the damn thing to a 2dr, with a full bed. Then again, one can never have enough Jeep toys... So how about both? 8)
  11. I've just been handed an urgent, and horrifying news story, and I need all of you to stop what you are doing and listen. CANNONBALL!!!! (Scroll down for the real story!) Today, I had a very short interview for a job at the place my sister works for. I pretty much got turned around on the spot, because I have no "formal" small engine repair experience, just personal. However, I told my sister before she left, while she was chatting with a co-worker, and he had mentioned they needed people in a few job sites. She swung the info about me by an associate who she just helped get out of a hole of being short a few workers at one job site, and I got the call on my way home that I 99.999% definitely have this job. here's the deal. If I have the job, I'll be home only every other weekend (its a job out on the road). The where, is currently unknown, so I may be coming to a town near you*! This will rule, lots of OT available, moving out of the mom's house, and making WAY more then I do now... Two of the higher likely places I will end up is either Green Bay, Wisconsin, or somewhere in Massachusetts. * denominates the fact that the Comanche will unfortunately not be in tow, nor any wheeling rig for the most part...
  12. it's ok. you got me the addy in time, otherwise, yours wouldn't have mailed till later tomorrow, or Wednesday sometime.
  13. That was an ice pit with 6" thick ice chunks! It was effing COLD that weekend. Everyone either took Friday half or full off of work, and we all departed town at about noon. Paragon had a temperature of about 0-5 degrees! And everything was coated in Ice. We did a lot of black trails, and it was most certainly a challenge. Flopped one jeep, and busted windows on the both the featured Jeeps! That was one of the greatest weekends I have ever had, hands down.
  14. Yes the unit bearing WITH the axle does support the load. Not by itself. PLEASE NO ONE TRY THIS!! Your tire WILL absolutely come off!!! The stub shaft IS REQUIRED with unit bearings. Unit bearings are built to have the added support of the stub shaft and the nut compressing everything together. It would work for rolling it around in the shop or parking lot, but thats about all!! Correct. We found this out the hard way a month and a half ago, when one of the local club members snapped his stub shaft, no parts or tools on site. It was about a 5 mile trek to the closest member's house (everyone was meeting there anyways), however, that 5 miles with a snapped stub shaft on a 04 Rubi was enough to kill the unit bearing. I had to come to the rescue with a stub shaft, and we didn't know about the unit bearing failure until I arrived with a stub shaft and we pulled it apart. We have now found it's ALWAYS a good idea to carry an old swapped out one on the floor of somebody's jeep now. That, and a 13mm wrench, and 36mm socket with breaker bar. Keeping those old ones that aren't technically bad, just high mileage is probably some damn good trail insurance. That, and stub shafts are a good idea to accompany them.
  15. Check now! I can't wait to see these pictures! Mine isn't here yet, and I'm about to leave to go get hired for a new, better/better paying job thats closer to home and has benefits! Do I have to bribe you with a free surprise?

    JP Magazine

Word has it that the August issue will have some pictures of two local members. If you see a white XJ and a red TJ going through the ice pit at Paragon, from the February Pack the Park Weekend, that is them!
  17. Letting the town know your coming through with that chattering and that cool, arctic blast of wind, eh?
  18. I need you to PM or email me your mailing address so i can send the surprise.
  19. Yea, my right arm can't fit through that single pane slider. I won't be having/using any subs in the MJ. I am installing the sound bar from an XJ in the cab extension, but that's it for the audio system, hell, even the newer style stock head unit will be in the truck.
  20. 4.7 V8 out of a WJ, followed by a 545RFE, and a 231 sitting behind that. :D
  21. A front 60 averages $850 as far as I have seen, however, I just scored my buddy a set of 60's out of a 79 f350 for $200 total. Make a goal between $650-750. for the front, but try to keep everything at a combined price of $1000 or less. The rears are like $150-200 easy, and found in all sorts of 1 ton trucks, and they are all low pinion, as far as I know. When looking at the front 60, make sure it has a high pinion, driver drop, and also 4 bolts on top of the knuckles to tell you it's kingpin. If you want a Dana 70 or 80 rear, my buddy parts bread trucks all the time, and he usually tosses the axles, but if you want one, I think he said like $100 for the complete axle. The gearing I think is usually 3.73, but I could be wrong, either way, most people I've heard of swap it out for their needs. Get the steering stuff for while your building it, so you can at least roll it around, drive it up and down the road, and work the bugs out of the axles themselves.

    7/7/07

Nobody cares about 7/16 people... lol It's use 7/28 ones that matter, and especially they 7/28 peoples born in '86! :D
  23. I want to say maybe a bed mounted tire carrier?
  24. Look at the axle "structure lobes" one of them will have "60" on it, see it, and you KNOW you have a 60. It will be one of the top ones that goes from the diff housing to the tube inlet. I forget if it's the right or left one. Sometimes you have to pick at it with a screwdriver to scale a little rust/dirt/grime off
