  1. I wish I had your job. Or is there another trick?lol I have been in my house for almost three years now and it will be a very long time till it's paid off. you didn't come off conceited or bragging at all. as for getting better mpg's I have toyed with getting my 79 yamaha xs 650 going again. but that means spending about $500 to get it running, plated, insured, and my liecense. I haven't driven the mj since gas started going up, and with the nicer weather. My recent purchase of the wrx, I have had to spend a little more on gas but it's still better than driving the mj as a dd.
  2. In my truck the vent windows leak. that is why my carpets get so nasty or door panels get moldy. I am hoping that once I put my newer set of doors on I won't have so much trouble. Just an idea, look in your windshield wiper cavity, maybe something in there is plugged or not plugged? good luck with the search.

    fun with turbos

Got to love when manufacturer's don't fix their screw ups. That's why I got rid of my 2000 Grand Am GT. even with the warranty that car was in the shop so much that it wasn't worth my trouble. I turned in that one at lease end. hopefully someone will make a better part. good luck with getting it fixed.
  4. very nice wife, mine is about the same. glad to read that there are other good women still out there. Those ramchagers are getting harder to find. sounds like you will definately enjoy it.
  5. I'd really hope that it wasn't a stolen one. And it shouldn't be. I bought it from subaru of schamburg. and it's not an STI. Sorry to read that your friend got his stolen. that scares me a little, thank god the one I bought has an alarm.
  6. Good eye, yes the blue one is missing a headlight. My dumbass friend decided to take it apart to get a amber lens out, and in the process broke the silver reflector. thanks for the congrats everyone. yes it's the silver one actually the thing is sitting on lowering springs, so it's the other way. lol And as for logan, sorry to be copying. but, the other choice was ROGAN. And I voted that one out fast.
  7. So I got rid of my hyundai tiburon for a 2004 subaru impreza WRX. I got rid of the tiburon because of the other news that I don't think I have posted. I will soon be a daddy!!!! My wife has about only 6 weeks or so till she has our son. His name will be Logan. So the WRX will have a little more room for the kids car seat. here is a pic of the new ride.
  8. I'm a big fan of Amber bock lately. But when I have the money i like Linne's red, killian's red, sam adams, or corona's. I guess I will give this bud light lime a try.
  9. glad to read that everyone is ok. bummer about the liberty. Good wrecker driver for letting you get what you could off it.
  10. I don't mean to hijack, but my mj does the same thing. I figured it was because of the fact that I don't have a cat. I have new wires, cap, and rotor. my plugs were new untill i blew a head gasket. since that I haven't replaced them though. so maybe my issue could just be plugs?
  11. sounds like a bad ignition switch, possibly the main ignition harness. I would check to make sure you have voltage at all the wires and in the right mode. like key back being acc, and key forward one click being ignition, etc
  12. It's not that big of a install, I had to do it with a friend when I blew up the stockers on my mj. To make things easy we rented a u-joint removal tool from advance auto parts.
  13. there was a big thread about oil filters with problems. here it is http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8961&highlight=oil+filter
  14. Happy b-day. I have already drank one for ya. just be careful. a few weeks ago I got pulled over on my street, and i basically coasted right in front of my house. he gave me the eye test. I asked him why he pulled me over, he said that I was driving down the middle of the street and swerving. I was doing that but to avoid snow mounds and the street isn't that striaght anyway. I was lucky, he did let me go. And I really think that having a lifted truck didn't help. I even admitted to him that I had a few over about 5hrs, still didn't matter. I now have watched myself even closer, along with trying my hardest to not drive after just one beer. this is all coming from a guy who is 27 yrs old, And went to Southern IL university Carbondale for college(aka party school). :D
  15. I love that 2.2 turbo motor. If I had the time and money I'd have a mid 80's shelby charger or a GLHS with that motor. but the idea of putting one in an mj would be a sweet sleeper.
  16. This sucks to read. My mother is going thru something familiar. she has had three of her vertabre fused together and it seems that it helped for a little bit but now she is still having troubles. I am sure yours is worse. And I can't begin to understand how you feel. I just hope that it will get better enough for you to finish your project. good luck.

    funny email

that's always a good one to read. seen it a few times.
  18. I'm sorry to read. I can deffinately relate. I blew out my knee when I was 19. That was very painfull. Turns out that I tore my ACL and then walked on it for a year to find out that it had dissintagrated. so I had surgery and was out for a month.
  19. ouch, what did you hit? That will take awhile to fix, from the looks of it.
  20. I had a fun time with the big gaping rust hole on my passenger bed wheel well. we cut it out and then proceded to fill it with "Great stuff" expand foam. lol It actually worked very well for a backing. here are some pics of the process.
  21. congrats, sounds like it is a good find. should be fun.

    MAD

As much as it hurts sometimes you just have to pay to play. or play by the rules. I was very fortunate that my p's paid for half of my insurance, all gas, and repairs to the first car I had. Then again that came with a catch. I had to drive my 2 bro's around to doctor appointment's and other stuff like that. Along with the rules of a curfew, not getting into trouble, and good grades. It was so worth it. because by my first year of college I was able to buy a bran new off the dealership lot 2000 grand am GT4dr. And that I had enough money saved up to put 2k down on it and make the $300 per/month payment.
  23. sorry to read. wish i could help. I already had to save my mother from car problems today, her driver's door wouldn't close for her. Turn's out that the part of the hinge that keeps the door open blew apart. she said that the spring just flew out. so now i get to rig the thing so that the door will work fine. I hope that everything will go ok for jeepco.

    CC Handles

I have used ifixit8 ever since I got my first car. It was an old plymouth Turismo, and I spent alot of time fixing it. Along with the fact that I love to fix just about anything. I just figured that it would be a good screen name. And the number 8 is my favorite number.
  25. Ive gotten plunty of looks too. aparently mine is noticed so much that one of the local comcast guys came over to fix my internet when i wasn't home and saw the background of my truck up a snowbank. then proceded to ask my wife about the thing, saying that he's seen it around town. And since i've owned it I have been pulled over 2 times with stupid cops trying to get me on something, but lucky me the thing is all legal.
