Hey guys I want to strip the automatic set up out of my parts rig before it heads to the scrapper. other than my list below what else do I need to get out of it to replace my 4spd? Transmission/bell housing if it has one torque converter colum shift linkages speedo cable pedals

Here are some pictures of the 2x4, I don't have any of the parts truck but it is mostly complete and will offer everything needed for the 4x4 conversion. Based on this truck what do you think a good asking price will be. It is only a 4 banger with 140k + miles on it the floors have some issues and the rest of the truck is solid with no rot. I think it would make someone a good truck. Thanks for any advice  Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found

Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem and I need your help. Well the wife and I have been working on a house for a few months now so my mj has taken a back seat and now we find out that we have a little one on the way I have 2 mj's and I have been tinkering with a little. Now I am thinking of getting a xj just to be able to put a child seat in it. My first mj is a 87 2x4 swb with 4cyl 4 sp and the second is a 86 4x4 lwb 4cyl auto that I was going to convert my first. If I decide to sell them what do you think I could ask for them. The lwb is parts only and so far I have only gotten the front end out. The swb has a drop braket kit and 31's. I will get some pictures up if needed. Let me know guys! Thanks

Unless you place a lot of pics online, go down to wally world and buy a external hard drive. My wife and her mom are into scrapbooking so they take tons of pictures. i think you can get a 100 gig for about $125. you just plug it into your computer and save to it. I still don't quite trust online storage places :D plus we back up all of our finances and other records on it and put it in the safe once we are finished.

man I love your xj brackets for your jack!!! Ideal though could you drill a hole in the bolt and use a carter pin or something for faster disconnect? I am really diggin your rig! -
I hear ya! My father in law absolutely will not let me work on his jimmy cause he only lets professionals work on his cars! Anyways last month he takes it in to have shocks put on so i went with him. The tech came out and said that he also needed tie rods, front end alignment and possibly wheel bearing for a grand total of $1200 bucks  I knew what was up because we had just left Cabellas and I was driving. 1. the steering was tight as a drum so no tie rods were needed, 2. the truck was not pulling and tracked straight down the road. So I asked for him to show us. He went into this whole horse and pony show and thats when I grabed the wheel of the truck on the lift gave it a good shake and there was no play hence no need for bearings. Thats when I asked to speak to the shop supervisor and informed him of the lies his tech was spewing. Well good ole dad now wants me to work on his truck but I told him $50 bucks an hour and we can deal :brows:

I love love love that set up! Would you be interested in sharing the dimensions of your work so I can mock my own :brows:

:headpop: I could not agree more!!! It makes me so mad to see guys going where they are not suppose to go. We just lost a trail here in Lynchburg because the guys kept going off into the woods. I thought I was gonna have to fight once because I warned some guys about it. I knew the county was looking for a reason to close the trail because last year some dude flipped his rig in a area that he was not suppose to be and the recovery trucks couldnt get to it. The county gave him a week to get it out and it was there only 3 days and was basically stripped to the frame. The guy was pissed but oh well. Its amazing what somebody can do with a onboard air compressor and a impact wrench. after that the county closed it down. Lesson STAY ON THE MAIN TRAIL and only go in approved areas. The guy claims is rig had over 20K in parts stolen and from what I hear he only insured a stock rig. Serves his dumb a$$ right.

:D My first car was a 1979 Ford Fiesta!! I got it for $350 bucks and drove it until the floorboard fell out :rotfl2: Man was it ugly but, I loved that little car. It would top out at 75mph but at 65 everything in it would rattle. Talk about a tank, one day it started jerking around but still ran so I took it to my buddies shop and he said holy SH*$ look at this!!! He grabed the carb and lifted it straight off the motor, (I guess I hit 65 too many times and shook the carb bolts clean off) Man I am going to call the guy I sold it to and see if I can get it back, I bet that thing would be awesome with a 289 or a 302 in it. :brows:

 HOLY COW I see a $$$ makin idea if you want to make another I will buy!

if you want to run 31's for cheap I would try spacers for the coils and maybe a "aal" for the rear and you should be gravy. As long as you are only doing light wheeling. This is my rig with 4 inch drop brackets and "aal" on the rear with 31's Image Not Found

all I can say is illegal street (sweeping) racing! I would pay money to see that

just remind her of that ring on her finger and then ask what did you get in return? at least that is what I tell my wife but I think she has been adding the prices on all the parts, so soon I will be out of excusses. But you have a nice looking rig
-

hey man glad you are ok! jeeps can be replaced. -
the sport truck is pretty much the base model, as with anything you could ad options to it when bought new. What parts are you looking for? At parts stores the name of the truck rarely affect what the part it is.
