Figured I pull this thread back up instead of starting a new one plus it keeps the options localized. Found another direct fit light to replace the B-pillar lights. This one should be easier to find. It's the trunk light out of a 2000 and up Ford Taurus and is also found in the Sable. It separates from the black surround Then you can put the black surround into the B-pillar by bending the tabs on the back of it. You could paint the surround to match your trim or leave it as is. Like the Discovery one, this one also will eliminate the ability to turn the lights off at the lights themselves and there is only one per vehicle. These are a couple of bucks at the JY.

A must see .... TRIP PICS FINALLY UP! Pg 6 *****************
mfpdm replied to Automan2164's topic in The Pub
I would have never left that place. In this video, near the end you here a voice say "Get Out" Was it someone there saying that or was it the voice of the prior owner?  -
It's about time you posted that up. Should be a lot easier to park than the duece. :D May have to come by and take a look at some rare Comanche history.
-
Oops I was thinking you needed the cable that runs from the pedal to the rear. The release handle with cable might be had from the dealer but could be pricey. I think I have one but if I remeber right, a few strands are broke on the cable. I,ll check when I get home.

Rock Auto has them new for around $20. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php May even be at your local auto parts store.

 If you don't have something nice to say... You've got cash. And for the rest of ya'll, when I posted to this thread it had 20 hits. :shake: I was surprised that I was the first to respond.

I'll pony up some cash for them. Shoot me your paypal.

That would be a good place as long as you don't say, leave it in and throw something in between the seats and break off the memory stick. If your not a smoker and don't use the ash tray as a coin tray, that would be a nice out of sight place as well as the glove box. Great work by the way. Let us know how well the carpet fits once your done.

THIS would be the PERFECT MJ Bed....

A lot of them up for auction at this site all over the country. Find the one nearest you and have at it. http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/e ... unged=7588 Most of them start off at $150. -
I'm pretty sure that was listed once before and it didn't sale. :dunno: Wouldn't expect it to get to much higher. For 20k, you could almost get one of those restored ones that have been completely rebuilt.

Comanche of the month, Apr 2010 --- SHELBYLUVV's 1989
mfpdm replied to Automan2164's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Congrats Shelby! I love this build. Can't wait to see the finished product. Soon as you work out all the wickets with the 97+ swap, it will be easier for the rest of us. :D  -
I wouldn't think some fly by night used dealer would have got it if it was. Would like to know the story and see the VIN. Could put a whole new prespective on it. :brows:

Yes, I was. Yeah, I expect that the tires may have some dry rot and the battery won't live five years, but this was a NEW Cherokee Limited. I checked it over. It had not been driven. All window stickers were still in place. It is definitely worth $22,000. You were just saved a lot of money. Think of it this way. Scenerio 1: You bought it for $22,000, drove it off the lot and got T-boned and totaled it out. Guess how much your insurance company is going to pay you? Book value of around 8K. Now yes there are some insurance companies that will allow you to put a rider policy on top of your regular policy but this is based on appraisal value and is usually only for classic's which, a 2001 cherokee is not quite there yet. I will be getting one for the Wild build to cover it up to about 12k hopefully. Oh and I talked with an insurance broker before I wrote this so I'm not armchair quarterbacking. Scenerio 2: You fall on hard times and need to sell it a few months down the road. Guess what a used 2001 Cherokee Limited sells for in exellent condition with low miles? Same book value as before unless you can find another zealous buyer as yourself. This thing probably was unloaded at auction from either one of Chryslers storage houses or a defunked dealership that was shut down and had it in the showroom for a museum piece. I know you said you inspected it but I didn't remember seeing you say it had a carfax. Send the VIN to Chrysler and they will tell you were it came from if the carfax doesn't. It would have been nice but I think you would of had regrets.

:fool: You are correct. I explained that poorly. My low fluid level was an empty reservoir and the light was on, but I still had braking power. I too thought it was the E-brake and played with the E-brake switch for awhile to get it to go out before I checked the reservoir and found it empty. Filled her up and pumped the brakes a little and it went out.
-
The brake light on the dash will also come on if you have low fluid. That's what the little sensor on the prop valve is for. Check the fluid level and the wires going to that sensor. Never heard of the rear brake lights coming on, on any vehicle with the e-brake applied. Low fluid might cause the brake pedal to not push all the way up to make the switch. Don't know why it would do it with the E-brake applied.

mfpdm replied to mrsinister's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As you should be. That is the best looking Red interior that I have seen. Messing it up would only bring the wrath of the Jeep Gods upon you. -
I still say it will buff out. I could be saved if someone had the time and desire to do it.

Super job on the floor. I may have to invest in some of that. I looked at their site as was wondering if it smells like asphalt/tar as it says this: "TITE-SEALâ„¢ is a self-adhesive waterproof flashing material composed of a reinforced metalized plastic film, with an asphalt mastic adhesive. Also, does it have any heat restrictions or any other hazards listed on the roll? Your going to love the Infinity's.

on the ebay tail light frenzy. I've never seen so many listing at one time. Right now there are 12 tail lights in 9 listings. Might be a good time to pick up a set as they all can't go for big money. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=jeep+c ... m270.l1313

Man, when you said you had something in the works, I was expecting a hard to find, one of a kind, FSJ monster or something old and cool. Thats just another MJ. Dime a dozen around here. Might as well give it to me to save yourself the embarressment of having that plain ole thing in your driveway. j/k Nice score.

That will buff out. :D

Hey it's Spud's McKenzie j/k Here's mine on the 86. It's like 86FUBAR's and it was Comanche specific. In fact it was an option that the dealers could put on. Not sure if they offered it in later years for the SWB. -
I know when I did this, the torx sockets with the ratchet was too big to fit in there for me. I ended up using the torx socket with a box end wrench slid over it. At the time, I was thinking that the best way to do it, which would also be the most work, would be pull the front fender off so you could close the door and then tighten down the torx from the front. I didn't want to go through the trouble seeing how I just did the 97+ swap and to pull that fender would mean taking the header apart on that side and hoping that I didn't have to take it completely off.

Help repairing fuel injectors
mfpdm replied to kyleag89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They use to have a lot more info on their website. Must be the economy. In fact I don't even see the 5.0 injector upgrade deal for Jeeps. I guess you could contact them and they would tell you what p/n's they use or you could request them use a specific p/n. Anyhow, I went with them after a few on here had good success with them. I believe Jeff was one. They send a sheet with the injectors with the flow rate and psi that they tested at.
