  1. I've worked on them, and can already see that one is going to have ALOT of rust issues. There are several different "reinforcement" brackets under the floor pan that commonly rust from the bottom up. Check the firewall edge of the inner fenders for holes, the rear frames are pretty similar to YJ's as far as rust issues. I doubt that thing has a dana 44 anywhere under it, too. The most common rear ends were dana 30 (yes, dana 30) low pinion variants.
  2. I look at the OP like this; His rear shackles are not safe nor functional as necessary. they are slapped together and bushingless on the top, using inferior grade bolts, without reinforcement between them His front lift comprises of spacers and spring boosters. He is already too high for stock lower control arms, which I'm sure he has. What I can see there is a 3.5" or 4" lift, judging from the angle of the bad/bent swaybar links. nothing is done right, and the parts he's wanting to use aren't for this application. You can buy a set of rough country links for $40 to your door off ebay brand new, and they're made for it.
  3. stop using ratty parts. if you put a wanted add on comancheclub and craigslist, someone local has GOT to have a set of longer rough country sway bar links that they're upgrading from for cheap
  4. heat gun used correctly, and krylon plastic clear coat. pull the oils back to the surface, then seal them in.
  5. I can agree with most of what you said, save for one thing. Engineers, while they may have to deal with higher-ups dictating what something should look like aesthetically, should have one priority. To make the company money. That goes hand in hand with making things easier to work on for a dealer even if it requires specialty tools to keep the general public from working on it, as saving the company money is the same as making them money. I'm sure there are idiots telling them to do the impossible. But they have to be able to have the creative genious to innovate and counteract the impossible and make it possible. That is after all the gist of their job. An engineer is a draftsman; a designer. a person who is supposed to come up with a concept, make it an actuality, then streamline the details.
  6. I rinse everything and wipe it down quick before tossing it in the dish washer. comes out clean every time.
  7. I doubt his shackles and control arms could handle the stress.
  8. Agreed, PT cruisers are fugly, pointless, dumb. And I don't care how smart you think an engineer is gogmorgo, intelligence has nothing to do with common sense. Your first ranting post here....just made me cringe. Of course an engineer should make a car easier to work on! It can be done, and has been done!! The problem with engineers is that they don't have to work on a vehicle, and they haven't seen failures because everything they work on is brand new. If there was some common sense, engineers would go above and beyond to make things easy to work on, even if they had to design specialty tools to make it "harder" for the common mechanic, just so that warranty work and recalls could be done faster, cheaper, and easier. Less cost to the company would mean more profit.
  9. lol. my mom has 4 wiener dogs. one is named cocoa....he's a freaking coke-head or something. just acts blazed all day one is julia, which fits perfect because she's a little b*tch, and i dated a girl named julia who was one one is Lady (named when she got her). she is anything but one is Abraham. he's not good at telling lies (you know when he's done something wrong) I hate them all equally.
  10. I was gonna say I know a good amount of girls... but yeah, sounds like the switch.
  11. stereotypical Jeep guy names for dogs Bear Axle Dana stereotypical big dog names Max Bruiser Duke Steel (or other variants pronounced the same) Call him "The Dude" lol
  12. sway bar end links are shot and bent from a bad lift. you need the right parts, dude. i see all the wrong ones.
  13. rob just named his bear it fits Rob's dog, but it's not a very original name
  14. name him something not scary. like Owen, Herbert, Vernon, etc... then people won't be anticipating he's a big dog when you call him. Our shepard was named Massey after Massey Harris tractors (My dad was a tractor guy, and didn't want the dog...it was my mom's way of compensating. He was an awesome dog, only ever bit jahova's witnesses.
  15. i've got a center console and bucket seats calling your name!
  16. the tail lights aren't worth that right now. not since club members flooded the market I've sold sets to a guy in the UK via EBAY for $550/set plus shipping...used. that was when everyone on here was holding onto theirs, and robbing every pair in the junkyard....then when the ebay craze started, you could find 15 sets on there at any given time
  17. just sayin...hose inside not a great plan
  18. he says he's indoors....
  19. take a bit of time with a windex bottle to spray mist down over everything you can in the surrounding area in order to wet down any potential dust and keep it from rising into the air. Good luck!
  20. like i said, I ended up using corrugated sewer pipe for an RV. bought from walmart.
  21. i've found the build sheets behind driver or passenger door panel, in each b pillar behind the trim, behind the rear wall carpet, under the seat springs, under the center console... AMC didn't do anything the same twice in a row...
  22. heated seats in the winter, cooled in the summer. I'm looking at repurposing Peltier pads into the seats going in my mj to get heated and cooled effects
  23. it doesn't look like you have a/c hoses on that compressor....can you clarify wether you do or not? if not, then the a/c clutch is locked up. that noise sounds like an a/c compressor running open with a locked up clutch
  24. I'm putting light tan 97+ interior in my 87 with the conversion, except the seats will be 02 liberty limited leather tan heated power seats. that's fully optioned overhead console and all, ice cold R134 a/c, stroked, bored, built, on 4.5" with 31's. problem solved.
