  1. ok. let's recap; old motor is junk new motor is good trans doesn't need replacement (so far as we know) why does the difference between external and internal bellhousing matter then? he will need to swap the flywheel/flexplate from the 92 onto the 95 to make it run and everything match up anyways, so the bellhousing and clutch slave need not be considered. didn't meanto ASSume, just used deductive reasoning -Pat
  2. if he's just dropping the motor...he doesn't have to worry about the transmission. just needs to put the YJ flexplate on it.
  3. Those are hookahs Brent. Kinda like bongs but only because they use water.. Most times are used to smoke favored tobaccos.. Very cool pictures though.. Couple local Hookah bars here...never been personally... leaving for my local hookah tonight :D favourite flavours; strawberry rose sex on the beach cool pics. from overhead all the people look like ants (ants are easy to squash  j/k)
  4. I'd bet you need to change the motor mounts out, and maybe the exhaust manifold. the rest of the brackets and accessories aren't identical either...you may need to swap all of that. the biggest thing I can tell you to swap is the flexplate/flywheel. they ARE different and it won't run w/o changing them. (I made this mistake with a 95 xj to 93 motor swap...)
  5. build new plates. I'm having mine built from 1/4" steel plate (don't have time to make the plates) but plating to both sides of the frame here's a crude idea of my design
  6. uh oh you done did it now... :thwak: congrats though. i had no idea...
  7. oh, the main bumper section is 2x6 3/16" wall box tube, the frame plates are 1/4" thick the outers will be 24" long from tip of clevis mount (they go completely through the bumper) to front edge of the plate, the inners are only about 20" long from inside of 2x6 tube to front and the inners are bolt-on while the outers are weld-through. the side guards will be 2x3 3/16" wall box tube and braces for them will be 1x1 square tube or 1x2 something in that area. yes, it will be heavy. BUT for only a bit more weight I'll have that much better protection. the bumper contours will follow that of 89eliminator's rear bumper.
  8. revised bumper plans for side protection. obviously this is a very basic schematic. also eventual trans x-member, t-case skid, and trans skid.
  9. rear bumper plans. plates should be done tomorrow, starting the bumper build tomorrow.
  10. I usually keep my nose out of political discussions, but felt I had to chime in here. Why is it called a green card? They're not green, they are white. And before that - at least in 1993 - they were pink. And yes, I have one, I'm registered for military duty, and I pay taxes like everybody else. But I am not allowed to vote :( I feel that you should be able to vote, and I don't know why it's called a green card.
  11. amen.
  12. I am holding the two assemblies next to each other right now. If I pull the pedal on the MJ's bracket all the way up to where it contacts the switch, it is much higher than the XJ's pedal when it contacts the switch. I'm not sure what you mean. had no problems on my end of things going the other way around. I would use the MJ bracket and simply build a new switch contact if you're sure that's going to be the problem. gometrically, I'm pretty sure they should contact.
  13. I like to think we're open-minded here. we voice our opinions, but don't discourage others.
  14. put the pedal from the right in the bracket from the left, and I firmly believe that it will contact. the pedals are the same length IIRC and the contact point is simply higher up for the brake switch.
  15. I am NOT racist. BUT I look down on people who fit their races cultural stereotypes. color, creed, sexual preferance. I don't care. just don't act like a ghetto piece of $#!&, be a hard working american WITH A GREEN CARD, and support our country. that is all I ask. unfortunately, the people I look down on are so uneducated that they voted this election based on race, not based on a man's goals. (and not one of you can say this is untrue) I have no comment on Obama's capabilities. that is yet to be seen. I did not vote him, because of his business practices. that is NOT to say I think he's an incapable and worthless President. I just wish that people had looked more at the agendas of the presidential candidates rather than race. this video is proof that even the upper class wealthier person can still make decisions based on improper merit.
  16. The brake light switch bracket is much longer and lower on the 95's assembly. I don't think the pedal will contact the switch if I do that. I suppose I could bend some piece of metal to extend the switch down further though. it will contact. the brackets are physically the same from what I saw (did my swap a few weeks ago) except for some small differences, like the switch position and the lack of bracket for the shifter cable. but, that's your best bet.
  17. the main bracket is interchangeable, except for the brake switch on the pedal. just swap the pedals themselves...remove the long bolt and swap. did this on my 87 pedal assembly by putting the 87 pedal in the 95 bracket so that I could keep using the 87 booster for now.
  18. nope, not enough room to swing a hammer, and an air hammer will fubar it pretty good. best either take the bolts off, OR cut the bottom ear off the bracket and pull up on the door.
  19. fixing your throttle issues will fix your gas mileage...you should be getting 15mpg at the very least. sounds to me like a sticky throttle cable, or sticky throttle position sensor, or gummed up throttle body. also, clean your injectors.
  20. storage unit. 10x20. you can likely get one for less than $60 per month. get a buddy to go halvsies so they can store small things in there too. if you're going to truggy it, you could always chop the back half off and get rid of it, then get a small storage unit for $30 or so a month and put it in there :D or find a buddy with some land to put it on. OR. maybe someone would buy the thing from you, and you can find a new nice one in a few years?
  21. it's a nice thread. well done. it's unfortunate though, and I hope the OP knows that his rear brakes won't work. he teed the second line for the prop valve to the supply line when he should have eliminated it...
  22. i was just joking with ya. you can stop over anytime, you know that. my quad would keep up, if it would stay running longer than 5 minutes  . I'm tempted to sell the piece-o-crap. lol. i know. i was kidding too. wtf is actually wrong with the quad? is it just that it's not a yamaha?
  23. gee, thanks. guess I'll just go enjoy the snowmobile on tichigan then too bad your quad wouldn't be able to keep up...I'd invite you  :rotf:
  24. sweet wade. can I come bother you this weekend and check it out?
  25. pretty sweet. the only thing I don't like (and by this I mean I HATE it) is the hard top. it's too slanted, looks like @$$. doesn't keep in contoure with the truck at all.
