  1. took a @#$%ing hammer to it, broke the @#$%ing upper trim off above the doors while installing a KC lightbar, threw the @#$%ing lightbar, breaking the @#$%ing ends of it, @#$%ing put some good dents in it, and shattered the fiberglass header panel. @#$% that piece of $#!&. I'm sick of it. (p.s. the anger I took out was on body parts that were to be replaced anyways)
  2. and I can't even if I try...
  3. swore at it when it started POURING gasoline from the gas tank fuel pump area at the station....stupid advance auto, gave me a bad O-ring. :fs1: so screw it. now I'm off to put new window regulators in my bro's new 89 cherokee.
  4. no, not logging like wood. logging as in writing down. thank god I'm not a lumberjack.
  5. you're wrong, sorry. the 2.8 liter carbeurator is at least 50% of the problem with the 2.8 liter because of all of the emissions maintenance vacuum $#!& on it (which ROBS power and economy) if he's keeping the carb he may as well buy a edelbrock 4bbl intake for the 60 degree gm block, with a holley 390cfm carbeurator if he wants anything out of it. no need though, the wiring is simple.
  6. still here very busy been only logging on from my PDA recently and it doesn't tell me my pm's. working ALOT and it's ridiculous...logged 170 hours within the past two weeks working a few 24 hour shifts...in a row. I'm not sleeping much and when I do get on the computer I see something that seems intersting, click, read, post, go to sleep. so, for the other two guys expecting pm's from me I'll pm you back in the morning...I'm about to crash. Akula, I'll give you my phone number in the morning via pm, and get you taken care of. I HATE HATE HATE my damned shipping center because we've got alot of damaged parts I was sending you now. they fricking ran over the box at the loading docks. you will still get what we discussed...I will just have to change the interior color in another truck I have in order to do so. -Pat
  7. why would you want to?
  8. I was running a 94 xj a/c box prior to the engine upgrade...I upgraded ALL wiring to 95 when I did the swap. to put the 94/95 heaterbox and a/c system in a renix would be simple...use everything from the xj and bolt it in. the switch panels after 1987 are all the same connectors.
  9. where were you when I was (still am) asking for all the black rear interior panels? :fs1:
  10. cherokee spring perches are still different widths than MJ perches, so you will still need to buy new perches, cut the old ones off, and position them and set proper pinion angle then weld them on. you don't need a transfercase drop. our driveshafts are more than long enough to handle 6.5" of lift with no t-case drop. you may luck out while upgrading to a dana 44 and Spring Over Axle with your rear driveshaft....dana 44 driveshafts are 1" shorter than dana 35 driveshafts, and at that height of lift with no t-case drop you just may have enough slip. you will need new rear shocks and/or to devise a new shock mount setup. you can use the cherokee shock mounts but will have to build upper mounts in that case, and take flex/squat measurements to get the right length shocks. DON'T buy rocky road drop brackets. talk to mfpdm I believe he has a set and he was less than happy with the fit and finish (a bunch of small work needed to be done to the mounts to make them fit, as they were rather poorly measured out IIRC). I suggest buying rough country or similar drop brackets NO REINFORCEMENT BRACKETS as they don't make them for a comanche, then make your own reinforcement brackets. you can also modify the comanche uniframe to make the cherokee reinforcement brackets work. it's a very easy mod. definitely adjustable lower control arm. I don't suggest buying Rusty's product at all. you need an adjustable track bar. also get longer brake hoses front and rear. dodge dakota early 90's rear brake hoses work perfect, and 95 YJ front brake hoses work perfect. I run them at 6.5" of lift zero issues. -Pat
  11. I strongly urge you not to take that nice rare truck playing in the mud. that thing is clean. plus, you really want a shortbed for fun off-road. at the very least get factory tow hooks up front and a nice stout rear bumper with clevis or tow hook mounts on it so that when you get stuck, you can recover it properly. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I have. you need to remove the dash to do the swap. it's really alot easier than it sounds though. also need to remove the upper radiator support. go get a cherokee's a/c heaterbox (remove the dash to get at it). this bolts through from the firewall side with 6 bolts. make sure you get the control panel. also get the hoses, a/c pump, a/c bracket, a/c drier, and a/c condensor. while you're doing this...you may as well use parts ONLY from a 1995+ cherokee, which uses R-134 freon. this is what is available for cars right now, so in the long run it is cheaper. buy a new a/c drier. you only need the old one for the bracketry...never use a used a/c drier, your system won't ever get cold enough and you will waste $$$ on freon that way. you may wish to get a new evaporator inside the heaterbox right away, so you don't ever have to drop the dash again. also, you may wish to get a new(er) condensor too, but it may be just fine. I suggest upgrading to the 95 a/c pump and bracket along with the swap...it is a better pump. basically, don't piecemeal this...get the parts all from one 1995 to 1996 cherokee. I have done half of this swap on my wheeling comanche...I still need to swap the a/c condensor and hoses and a/c drier in and then have it vacuumed then charged.
  13. International to the rescue? anyone read this? the deal is being finalized...International swoops in for the save. They are buying Jeep from Chrysler, chrysler is trying to dump dodge and join GMC and become General Chrysler Motors. dumping dodge is a makes sense IMHO since Dodge no longer has the cummins contract, and there is NO WAY that their 2010 Hemi Diesel is going to pick up all that well with zero performance issues...I think this is the end of Dodge. I like dodge :( International stated already that the Jeep Compass, Patriot, and Commander for the 2010 model year    :D :brows: 8) :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: and begin building the Grand Cherokee AND Liberty with the 3 liter diesel though they are looking for a bigger motor. They will be producing Rubicon editions of ALL production models. This includes the JK wrangler (obviously), the Grand Cherokee, and the Liberty. another GREAT thing is that they've sent the IFS setup which was supposed to debut on the JK wrangler in 2013 back to the drawing board...indefinitely   :clapping:  They plan also on discontinuing the Liberty name and calling it the Cherokee again (though hopefully they increase the performance and switch to solid axles) this is a dream come true. now we just need a new jeep truck Image Not Found this is the April edition of the magazine however...lol so we will see
  14. the mechanicals are easy. the engine bay wiring is easy. you will need to remove the front clip from the MJ to do this so you can remove the wiring...but you don't need to remove it from the xj since the wiring doesn't go through there. you need to swap the dash harness, and splice the wiring together in the kick panel to the fuel pump, tail lights, and interior lighting. this isn't too fun. I just cut the rear harnesses from the xj AFTER the xj's rear connectors, and then cut the dash harness from the MJ BEFORE the MJ's rear connectors, then used that as a crossover harness since the connectors used aren't the same. but I'm still not done with the wiring so I can't say much else. the tail light wiring is simple, and you'll have to add an extra wire to the xj dash harness going to the brake light wire in the driver's side kick panel, so that your brake lights work. this wire gets put into an open pin on the turn signal connector on the steering column.
  15. had a dog named Massey after Massey Harris tractor's (my dad had a soft spot for them as he and his grandfather used to work on them together). apparently she thought that would make him like the dog . she's also the one who named my cat Rudabega (Rudy) which is some wierd queer fruitish vegetable thing I guess :dunno: ....damn cat's had that name for 8 years now. I'm wondering when her mid-life crisis will come and she'll change her name...
  16. putting the power windows and locks in this weekend, along with factory tint door glass. then picking up the donor truck for the bed and bringing it home (finally)
  17. As of right now my prop valve works perfectly. I am trying to make this build as factory correct (looking) as possible. The only real move away from a production build will be the lift. umm...you have a 97+ update going here. it's not stock. why go with an inferiorly designed prop valve if you don't have to?
  18. very nice deal!
  19. Not mine.. You said yours was a CJ. The CJ model 20 axle did not have one-piece shafts. The MJ/XJ model 20 axle did. amc20's were never offered in xj's. it was a one year wonder in the 86 comanches.
  20. it's very simple to drop a 3.4 liter in your truck, you'll just need a 4.0 liter fuel pump, a set of comanche 2.8 liter exhaust manifolds and y-pipe, 2.8 liter oil pan and timing cover, and a bit of wiring to lay it in. you'd just run the 3.4 as a piggyback system to your 2.5 liter harness.
  21. You've got that backwards. The early one's were the lower splined one's.. Plus they were never offered in 27, it's 23 and 21. So I'm assuming the "7" was meant to be a "1". you're correct I meant 21 spline. but you're incorrect. I don't have it backwards at all.
  22. Adam I'll get you those numbers tomorrow. I'm pretty sure my rear 44 is a factory 4.09 but it could have history that I don't know.
  23. if you can make it work, so can I.
  24. Good to know thanks. I know my AW4 and 242 were from a 98 and 97 XJ. Would I be correct in thinking that I would need a 242 from a pre 97 XJ due to the output shaft spline count (so I don't have to swap an input gear)? depends on what you got for a truck. mid 1990 and later were 23 spline, mid 1990 and earlier were 27 spline. take that into account when you pick up a t-case.
  25. nope, never offered in comanches. I stress this, others may not but they're wrong. it wasn't available in an MJ (though in 86 you could get a full time case a 229 or 228) swap...more straight forward than the swap into your TJ. xj's and mj's share tunnels and drivetrain, so...
