  1. this is the meyer's unit. all quick-connect. it's a factory option it's a 6' plow. anything bigger is too big. but it does a damn good job.
  2. the 2.8 won't have the power to push. my dad's renault 2.1 comanche had less hp and roughly the same torque as a 2.8.....it SUCKED when it had the plow on it. didn't overheat, but sucked to push with. my brother's '88 4.0/ax15 (converted) 4x4 with metric tonne conversion, and trac-lock in the rear works EXTREMELY well. I love plowing with that truck. we also have the oem meyers quick connect plow for it, so it is very convenient.
  3. coming from a guy who's owned 20+ comanches, scrapped approximately half of them (damn rust belt), and saved the other half from immediate death....that thing is NOT a scrapper. it is too clean to scrap.
  4. bleeder is on top/rear of slave.
  5. I always drop the crossmember to get them. it's too much of a b*@$£ otherwise.
  6. correy said it all.
  7. cherokee connectors are different.
  8. it's a french thing....NO ONE understands (not even the french)
  9. wtf is a prestone leak? don't you mean COOLANT? stupid region-based verbal dissensions.
  10. IIRC someone makes a relocation kit that puts it on the harmonic balancer for easy access, though.
  11. it's stupid that just because you have a vagina means you MUST be the victim.

    what is this

    looks like a CJ8 with a full top. that, or a CJ6 (I think it's 6) overland.
  13. yeah. it's just easier to leave it be at the moment. once the xj is lifted and driveable, and the 3800 is done, and beaterjeep's truck is done, then this will be worked on. plus the free mickey thompson mtz's (35x12.50) on classic 2 rims kinda have me set up right now.
  14. If yours is a 5 speed, it's more likely a leaking clutch master cylinder than leakin at the firewall. That said, unbolt the bulkhead connector (1/4" bolt in the middle from the engine bay side, and two gold colored phillips heads on the firewall), pull it out, silicon the sealing edges after you remove any rust from the firewall, and put it back together. Disconnect the battery just for safety
  15. looks like rob's going a few times haha. I can do the 3rd, MAYBE (but not likely) the 5th....but only if it's in the afternoon. I'm thinking I'll go saturday morning regardless.
  16. I have some ideas for the exhaust...and it's a wheeling truck, not a competition truck...not too concerned about it. I don't like mud so my chances of sinking are fairly slim
  17. Rebuilding the front end soon, eliminating the disconnect and converting to 297 non-disco shafts with newer style knuckles, hubs, and brakes. Also thinking of adding a second gas tank to the passenger side, with a second gas tank skid in that location
  18. rebuild it...doesn't look like it got too hot to melt the cab down, just to melt the plastic to it. a nice, slow rebuild will fix it. do NOT scrap it. it's still saveable. and, next time...keep a fire extinguisher next to your driver's seat. and pop the hood and pull the battery cables.
  19. I just type http://comancheclub.com/forums done, no issues, no hassle.
  20. Today I killed another one...the 91 sport 4.0 auto that rob and I picked up a couple weekends ago. Got $290 for it, saved every comanche specific part, including tank, sender, and wiring and sensors. It had a good run and it was time to pass
  21. that's repairable.
  22. Looks good Pat!! CW thanks CW. not sure yet if they're staying or going.
  23. the body harness is the interior harness. the engine bay harness is different, and needs to be swapped. once you do that, you just plug the power/comfort switch into the dash...wiring is there.
  24. K. I'm stripping a cherokee soon...if I can get the one off of the xj, the spacer is yours for cost of shipping. -Pat
