I would suggest you reconsider Rustys. I have bought two Jeeps built from Rustys and have about replaced it all. Poorly designed period.

That's my old XJ, the front flares are rear flares from a late 90s 2dr ford explorer sport. I reversed them , right rear explorer flare is on the left front of the xj. I know this is an old post , But I am really interested in the flares , what year / make is the flares from , I would really like to try this on the front of my MJ I found this build years ago , on NAXJA ,and could never find it again Or does anyone have the link to the build thread ?

Maybe your Tcase shifter linkage is a little off and not COMPLETELY shifting into two wheel drive. I don't think the CAD would matter, my truck has one piece axles and no problems. Any way cool build, glad to see you got it going. Kinda surprising to see how similiar your truck and mine are. Mines a flatbed, 35 KM2s, 8.8 and drab paint.

I watched a guy break a Rusty's trackbar trying to get out of some muddy ruts, it broke in the treads like the one above. I have Rusty's front coils and adjustable control arms, on the truck when I bought it. The coils are stiff and rough riding, the control arms rattle like crazy, they'll be swapped out soon.

I'm about 40 miles south of Knoxville. I have an 89 flatbed on 35s, wheel it alot. Good to see there is other MJs in the area, I was beginning to think I was the only one.

The only thing there I see of any value to an offroader would be the true trak and it's no good if you decide to put in lower gearing, even 4.10s. For the gain of a trak lock I would go through setting up the gears for what it would gain you, just my opnion.

Yes. I run it on 2 of our rigs and it should be here next week for the 3rd. The brace is the reason I run the RE units and not the TNT units as it does help quite a bit. I agree, the cross brace is the reason I went with RE. Most people don't realize the stress the drivers "frame" rail is under, the steering box and trackbar bracket are constantly trying to twist it in half when steering. When you use a drop trackbar bracket your giving the trackbar more leverage to wrench on the frame. The cross brace helps this problem.The cross brace ties the two frame rails together splitting the trackbar stress up between two rails rather than one. Once you've busted up a drives frame rail and see what a mess it is to fix, you'll do everything you can to keep from going there again.

I'm not one to go around bashing companies everytime I have a little problem, but I've seen so much broke Rusty's stuff lately. My last trip out I watched a guy break a Rusty's trackbar bouncing through a rutted mudhole. That be said I run RE with the HD frame bracket and cross brace on both my rigs, never a problem.

I make a living with my tools use them every day. I agree with Snapon and Matco for tools you use every day and specialty tools. Craftsman for the other stuff. Old SK tools were good stuff, the new SK is junk. I bought a couple of their socket sets and screwdrivers sets, pure junk! and near impossible to get warranteed.

I've been running drop brackets and they hold up fine to hard wheelin but hang too low for my taste. I got them for cheap, I would do something else if I was starting over.

The MJ project is wheeling and doing well but like all good projects it will never be completely finished, it wheeled Tellico just last weekend. I'm glad to see the bed went to such a nice truck, you know since that was originally my bed I can take some credit for the build :D. Awesome truck MJ4BTA! Looks and sounds well built. Did you buy the bed for that truck in Tn.? I sold an MJ bed on Ebay to a guy in Penn. that was building an MJ with your exact setup, just wondering if it was you, anyway very cool build, keep us posted.

Better call the ranger station before heading out if it's been raining, they sometimes closed Beasley in wet weather, it's also closed several winter months.

My stock prop valves is working great with the disc 8.8. Be SURE you get the calipers on the correct side.

Dind, ding, ding, we have a winner! Eagle! I just went out and unbolted the convertor and it reved like a demon! I was surprised it had stopped up suddenly as it did but it seems the internal filling of the convertor had broken up and clogged the outlet. Thanks guys for the suggestions and thanks to Comanche Club.
