  1. Degrease the motor at the local car wash, drive it home and inspect for leaks. It will show itself.
  2. I understand that. I once towed a 92 dodge spirit on a tow dolly from kansas city to fort wayne and it had several sketchy moments involved. That trip made me full aware of the need for a heavier tow rig. Not saying it can't be done, lord knows ive hauled much heavier stuff, just saying a half ton pickup would be much safer/comfortable.
  3. I never flat towed my cj7 however I trailered it behind a comanche once. Never again. Trailer and cj outweighed the mj. They just arent heavy enough. Full-size half ton at least.
  4. Get the internal door braces to go with the tow mirrors.
  5. Poser shot in the yard. More pics in my build thread.
  6. don't forget to flash it the window sill (preferably the entire jamb) before window install. Stretch tape your corners. Always think about where the water shouldn't go, where you want it to go, and finally where its really gonna go. Flash the window corners to the siding to prevent the side j-channels from becoming water funnels that lead to the sheathing.
  7. 4.10's and 31's for the win. I love mine. Definitely the way to go.
  8. Is that one of the old JCWhitney dually kits? I think it looks awesome. More info please.
  9. I think ghost stripes look better than failed decals. +1 for removal
  10. I think it looks good. Not sure the fog lights fir my taste, but not my truck either. Lol. I was never a lowered truck fan but they are growing on me. This is probably the best version ive seen, except maybe a street manche......
  11. I have a bit of installer experience. The install can make an expensive window less efficient than a cheap window if done improperly. As far as what brands are good and bad I'm not alot of help.
  12. I would highly recommend this route. Makes life alot better. Lol
  13. Looks like you just became a top tier hurst salesman. Lol I'm suspecting there's gonna be a short run on the inventory of a carts in shifter....
  14. When you get it changed could you shoot a pic of it from the drivers seat? Ive always shared the thought that the shifter that came with the short shifter wasnt quite right.
  15. Let me be the first to say thank you for joining us. The members are what makes the community, and Comancheclub.com is hands down one of the best jeep communities ever. The "staff" that works both on the forum and also behind the coding are excellent at maintaining an amazing forum for all of us to gather on. And some how the love for mj's is only shared by good peoples.
  16. Congrats on the little one. And welcome home. I agree with what was said about the gauges looking better than digital dash. <---waiting and ready to see the xj build.
  17. don't trust the stock dash gauges to show accurate readings.
  18. I also hit water jacket on mine 30yrs ago when dad and if put mine in the cj. I freaked out when it happened. Dad calm and collected, says its ok we'll just wrap it in teflon tape. Never had a problem since. Funny how time works. I had forgotten about having to drill and tap holes.
  19. I purchased the one in my cj from 4wd hardware years ago. Quality was top notch back then. Sorry I'm not much help beyond that.
  20. Whewww. Thought I was losing it there for a minute. (not that I ever had "it" to begin with)
  21. That I definitely understand. I self lubricate my nitrile gloves during use also. I find it simplifies removal, but would definitely complicate the record scenario.
