Well i finely got around to installing my painless switch panel on the dash . the kit was for a 87 to something ford f$%#stain that i got realy cheap from a local parts store when the closed . first i had to figure out where i was gona put it , and since the stupid clock hadent worked in years i pulled it and stuffed the harnes in behind the dash and fabricated a plate to fit it in the dash bezel and welded tabs on it to secure it . then i mocked it up ( again ), marked , drilled and installed the screw clips to secure it then some more mockup with the switch panel before i shot it with primer and paint now id post a pick of the finshed and installed product but my camera decided to take a crap on me at the end :fs1:

"Starting at $22,995." Alex :hijack: i hate to do it but..... i just went to an auto expo in AZ and saw the new camaro and it sure is nice  .but i was watching the Barret Jackson auto auctions the otherday and they had plenty of classic muscle and the like for sale that was between 20-40k that would make great daily drivers , why not get one of those and have something u could actualy be proud of instead of a nice rendition of classic muscle or better yet get a nice fixer up for a 5-10k and put 10-15k into it and have a sweat ride that YOU can actualy work on and that don't depreciate at an alarming rate . now i know its easier said than done and that it would take either a personal loan with an outrageous intrest rate or the out right cash to do if u were to fix one up it but i don't think its to unreasonable to ask . i know i wish i wasnt bit by the "gota have a new car" bug but i was ,now I'm not saying that i don't like my new wheels but i probably would have looked into other options had i known beter at the time .

Drove it to my parents this morning to finsh a side job i started yesterday for someone , once i got paid i drove to the gastation and filled the tank (light was on ). that was the first time the tank has been full in over 4 years . drove it to Orchard Supply Hardware to buy some bolts to bolt my new gunsafe down and ran into a manche that is identical to mine , color/interior but bone stock and droped a C.C. card on the window then drove home and finaly put my stereo back in and was tuning it untill the wife said otherwise . later i filled the back with stuff to throw away at work tomorow , it sure is nice having a running truck again

well don't kick ur self just yet , as the scout axles wile better than the s10 axles aint a bolt in deal either , they r wider and still have a different bolt patern but at least the scout 5 lug is more common than the s10 patern and the front has no caster built in to it and would require cuting the C's and rotating them or shims that would mess up the pinion angle .IIRC
-
there is going to be real no benifit to the swap as far as i can see , the bolt patern / still have C-clips / spring perches / and wms to wms distance is different (narrower), they have a 7.5" ring gear (some had the 8.5")and 28 spline axels and IMO is not worth the time . mason

ya my 2.8 had the heater on it but i ditched it because it is un need (for me anyway) and its one more thing to slow the airflow going in that was just in the way. Are u sure u even have one because too my knowledge the only ones that were equiped with the heater were the rochester E2SE (electronic controled carb / califorina models) most all others just had the 2SE (non computer controled) and u being in BC i would gues that u have the 2SE ,Pray that u have the 2SE as there is much less crap on it .

If u could discribe the icing problem better that would be great , but depending on what ur smog/emissions testing consists of u might be better off getting a webber carb conversion kit (which are made specificaly for the jeep 2.8) and its a bolt on kit . cost is between 400 and 500$ i believe. http://www.redlineweber.com/html/kits/k490.htm

-
Well i run the mile marker setup and like it so far except for one design flaw that i think i figured out . my jeep had the cad but i put the full shaft in it, also the cost was more reasonable than the warn

86FUBAR replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I have always had a length of bailn wire wraped around my driverside leaf spring that was my spare key, was going to put a key on it at some point but the wire has served me and many others over the years well so it stays -
