  1. yes the early ones do suck but when they are rebuilt they are updated with all the new stuf and it was the engine that blew up not the tranie ,the truck had over 200k and the trans was original
  2. I'm prity sure it would fit the tunnel if not i could make it fit and I'm not worried about the fabn part i also have a 2 piece rear d shaft in the works and i still got to make a front d shaft but I'm still bench racing all this
  3. New York is divided by those that live in it. Everything north and west of Newburgh is considered to be upstate. South from there is a whole different country as far as I'm concerned. Now if we could just get the politicians to put that line on the map :brows: LMAO :rotfl2: they do the same thing here in cali except its a NOR CAL or a SO CAL but if ur central u get to pick :brows: EDIT: by budy there always said if u didnt live in the city u were upstate
  4. well i got my heep up n running and been out banging gears and i keep thinking how every one says that the Ax5 can't hold together with more than stock HP and I'm running the 3.4v6 and had the bright idea of swaping a brand new 700r4 from my budys s10 into the heep . the s10 is a 2.8 (blown, suprise suprise) 4x4 87-88 IIRC question: I'm almost 100% sure but is the t case drop on the D-side and if so what do yall think / pros cons , possible isues id run in to etc... and yes the 700r4 has had a bad rap but i think it is a good tranie Reason for the swap: the 700r4 has less than 100 miles on it the price would be free or close to id still have an over drive , less strain on the drive train and i could get a rachet shifter which is worth another 5-10 hp out of the box :driving:
  5. Who is this rust that u speak of :hmm: and why is every one from upstate new york, i got a friend that lives in binghamton and its only like 5 min from pa but he is from upstate and don't u tell him other wise :D :shake:
  6. Well shes gotten a quite few from me so far
  7. is over and I'm off the medication and the first beer tast so good on my lips :jump:  i just wanted to tell everyone
  8. Eagle i couldnt agree more with u , i got a 05 rubicon unlimited new off the lot and have experienced DW from the begning but only when i hit the right bump at a certin speed . now after about 10k i warped the front rotors (because the brakes are less than adaquit as they always have been) and that had increased the DW but only when i hit thesweet spot in the road wile braking . I'm at 27k right now and still experienc the DW here and there but try and keep the tires balanced and rotated as often as i can but the rotors are still warped and will stay like that , for now . o ya and yes i could have just worn out my welcome at the dealership having them fix and replace stuff but i believed that it was as Eagle said "built in to the suspension" so to speak and not much they could do but just piss me off.
  9. When i installed my trailmaster 4" kit in 2001 i drilled a new hole 3/4 inch from the factory tb (per lift kit instructions) hole and never had a problem with breaking or elongating the hole and in 2002 i installed the ProComp adj. track bar and have been runing it ever since with out any issues up until a few months ago when i fabed up a new tb mount and modified the original ProComp track bar to fit .
  10. Well i havent done much to the manche but move it from one end of the yard and back a whole bunch since i got it done due to a suspicious headgasket issue. today i got a chance to work on it and did a few tests and found that i have a blown headgasket . it seems that every time i think I'm gona get it done and driveable somethn else goes wrong that i don't have the time or the money to fix but i gues thats the way things work sometimes.
  11. If those disco's don't work for ya i could use a set :brows:
  12. well if its for the wife then i say go with the bling , women always love the shiny stuff. or u could go black and then for ur next anniversary u could get her the bling and put the black ones off to the side and wait a couple months and then buy another set o rims to go with the old rings for your self , since u technically had 4 halfs of a set of rims which would do nobody anygood right :brows:
  13. Here it is but u got to remember that I'm not a pro pic taker and i got to the shop 3 min to closing. i also didnt get a look at the rest of the kit like all the hard ware and what not but i feel it is not as important as are the bracketry. the inital impression is that it is of sturdy construction , the welds are top notch and there are little if any imperfections . here is the D-side bracket- their aproach to mounting the bracket securly to the knuckle is a tried and true method done by many other manufactures here is the track bar/steering stablizer mounting bracket- i like the overall design but would still like to see it installed and in person because to me the track bar mount is especialy important IMHO and it apears there is alot going on with it (lots of little pieces to make one big piece) and would feel better seeing it mounted. here are the tierod/ draglink and track bar- the tubing is quite small as well are the stock sized TRE's, almost to small for my liking but since everything is seamingly up and out of harms way it would probably do well. the design of the steering seems more complicated than need be IMO and would probably be one place that i might change things to my liking if i purchased the kit. over all i felt that there are alot of pieces to this big and small wich strays from the K.I.S.S factor but in the end its a fairly well thought out kit and would recomend the kit to a friend . i think it has real potential for the guy that likes to modify things to his/her likings like i do. things i didnt see but wish i had the time to were the swaybar brackets and associated hardware. i hope yall like it as i covered it as best i can. mason
  14. Well !! it came in yesterday and as a man of my word i took my handy camera and snaped some pics of the setup but have yet to download the pics but hopefully il get it done later tonight . and i will withhold coment till then 8)
  15. don't be silly the chrome is worth at least 30hp right hornbrod
  16. ya i got a similar problem but mine are racoons and i use my 1000fps .177 cal. air rifle or my beman 1200fps 22. cal. to rid my self of such pests (or my 26 oz framing hammer but thats another story), i call it Urban Hunting and have had great success. and yes i live in "city limits" also ,and remember those tree huggers will only do so much to help ya. o and i don't care for the posion method but thats just my personal prefrence .
  17. thats how it was fer me when i lived in mooresville , i found a ramcharger there with some parts i needed (which is like finding a comanche in the j-yard here) talked to the guy and came to an agreement on the price but didnt have the money so i came back the next week and he wanted more than double and i told him that we already came to an agreement and he said "o ya iz pertie hamerd dat day but alrite" then we hung out and drank beer fer the rest of the day , i helped him with his car and it was all good after that  it sure is funny how different it is from coast to coast lmao,,,, yelp that about sums it up,,,lol good ole North Kakalakie
  18. thats how it was fer me when i lived in mooresville , i found a ramcharger there with some parts i needed (which is like finding a comanche in the j-yard here) talked to the guy and came to an agreement on the price but didnt have the money so i came back the next week and he wanted more than double and i told him that we already came to an agreement and he said "o ya iz pertie hamerd dat day but alrite" then we hung out and drank beer fer the rest of the day , i helped him with his car and it was all good after that  it sure is funny how different it is from coast to coast
  19. Well here in good old califorina i got to pay 2$ to get in at the local pick-n-pull , and actualy most of the other yards ,so what ever fits in my pocket is already payed for in my book and the fact that i had to pay damn near 60$ for a pair of mj tail lenses last time i was there AND that was on half price day. so for me snaging the "what ever fits in my pocket" is ok and usualy that stuf is , like JeepcoMJ said it aint even worth scrap value to them. that and they usualy want an arm , a leg and ur first born for most junk there, o the price we pay for living in a rust free environment. and yes i sleep just fine at night
  20. ?? Thats Comanche slang for "thats a decent rig u got there"
  21. Hey superwade2 where is that manche located , u know , just caus I'm curious  j/k
  22. Ya I'm still on the fence about it to , I don't care for the way the tierod and draglink are setup and it appears to use stock size TREs but that could be easily fixed. but what I'm more concerned with are the brackets and their mounting points and whether the added height is going to be to much stress on the relatively soft knuckle. but rest assured I've got my camera ready and when it comes hopefully I'll be able to get some pics of it.
  23. check out the new OTT (Over The Top) steering from Rocky Road Outfiters my budy has ordered it for a customer so when it comes in il hopefuly get a closer look at it. it looks to be very promising http://www.rocky-road.com/xjott.html
  24. Yup she is a keeper ,the wife that is . and as fer the ram it will for ever be in my stable as the family Hotrod ,i made the mistake of selling it once and am sure not going to make that mistake again . now i gota start dividing my time and money between the comanche , ramcharger and the family, but i think i can handle it :brows:
  25. long story short , 3 years ago i was forced to sell my first love , a 75 ramcharger back to my budy i got it from originaly because i had just bought the rubicon and the wife said we couldnt afford it. fast forward to today ,we were at a friends for mothers day/my b-day party and out of nowhere the wife comes driving up in the ramcharger ,gets out and tosses me the keys and says go take yer truck for a drive life is good :jump:
