3.07 will get you by with 30's, but 3.55 would be better for driveability and gas mileage. I am running 31's with 3.07's right now and hate it. I get 17-18 MPG at best when I should be getting at least 2-3 more than that. I am going to go to 3.73's one of these days when I get a job again.

:hmm: What type of virus protection are you using? I opened it before seeing your post and had no trouble with it...not even any pop-ups :dunno:

If you want one that will be higher in place of the bumper you will likely have to make it or have it custom made. As mvusse said, all of the ones made for it are designe to g odown under the bumper. You could always go with the new JCR Offroad bumper as a replacement if you prefer the look of the flat surface. Here is a shot of it. Ignore the top pis as I was comparing the short version to the longer. They have decided to go with the long one for production.

I have the Hell Creek springs. They are great quality and I have held up well to hauling several loads of rock with the truck so far.

started my lift!!!! now some ?'s
BLHTAZ replied to camjeep3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is correct...the pitman arm does not need to come off for any reason. -
The shocks are not optional...you have to change them at the same time you do the lift. ;)

88 long bed, bed bob, full width axles, plow, bumpers!!
BLHTAZ replied to cocco78's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
When I lived in PA, we had a '77 Bronco with a plow on it and we had to have headlights mounted higher on a frame above the plow. Is that not a requirement any more or is it state specific on something like that? Either way...looks good  -
Hopefully someone may recognize it, but it's not likely as there are so many of that type of bar out there. Probably be easier to find someone to take some tube and make what you want  .

I think I would want a helmet though...

New radiator purchase? - MI
BLHTAZ replied to bobweiser's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The CSF 3 row is what I used...nicely built  -
Yes, as long as it comes from a comparable year model and the same engine. You can put one in from a 4.0L engine, but it will require a little work to make it happen. You will need to change the oil pressure switch to a guage sender and the temperature switch to a guage sender as well.

:hmm: Cheaper & less time consuming that what?? A factory cluster should be maybe $20 - $30 and about 30 minutes or less to install... :dunno: Seems to me that he already has more than that in to this and still has issues ;)

Yep...most places sell a decent lift in that price range without shocks. You will need to be sure to get the proper length shocks, but most places that sell lifts will know what you need

New radiator purchase? - MI
BLHTAZ replied to bobweiser's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
WOW!!!!! Something that cheap scares me... They do have a good feedback rating and if they are willing to back it up, then it may be worth a try, but I don't think I would do it myself. I did the new style radiator conversion with a new 3 row radiator, and while the process of that was not at all difficult, the real PITA was finding a way to make the electric fan work with that new radiator. The newer style radiator has no place to put the switch for the electric fan and it took me 2-3 weeks of searching and bit bit of expense to come up with a solution that worked for me. Some people just put a manual switch inside and turn it on by hand, but I wanted it to work the way it was intended. I used a newer style t-stat housing with the hole for the ECM sensor in it and I put a switch in there and routed it through and adjustable thermostatic control that I mounted on the left inner fender. You would be better off with one of these if you don't need a new radiator... It goes in place of the plastic tank and gives you the regular radiator cap thus creating the "open system" without all the other hassles  I found it here... http://www.macsradiator.com/replacmentj ... tanks.aspx -
Changing the plastic pressurized coolant jug
BLHTAZ replied to Shane's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I took a couple minutes on Google and found this. I don't know where the thread is on here about it, but I know there is a good one somewhere on here... click on the pic to get more info... -
I don't know anything about installing aftermarket guages or tachs. It really is much easier to just swap the cluster in from another similar truck than to do what you are trying to do. It is plug & play and only takes about 30 minutes total including swapping the needed senders. All I can say is good luck if you continue on your current path...

check out somone elses plateYou have to go through the DMV to do it. There is a fee for it and you must be able to prove why you want to check it and that you have the proper authority to do so. There are new privacy laws in place now that do not allow you to just run someones taga as we used to be able to do. If you have a friend in a high place in Law Enforcement, they "Might" be able to help you out, but even they are now held accountable for look-ups and have to prove why they did it and show cause. I went through this not long ago...but, I had a friend in a high place that helped me get what I needed. It was not someone from this board...and no...for what should be obvious reasons, I can not refer anyone to him ;)

Looks great man. Twists up pretty good

Welll, the Browns made us look good as usual. I am still not happy with the way the offense is working and they need to step it upa bit if we are going to make it anywhere in the playoffs. I have updated my personal Steeler Page with a playoff bracket if you care to follow it with me.

The "Might Joe" build... -Full Console 1/25/09-
BLHTAZ replied to BLHTAZ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Thanks guys... I haven't been able to do much to it in a while now, but I need to get to the little holes that I recently discovered in the floors before they become big trouble. The roll/light bar came out of a 2001 Ford Ranger that the brother of a friend totaled. It only did minor damage to the bar and that damage is down at the bottom where it mounts to the bed so it's nearly un-noticeable. -
All you wanted to know about oil and oil filters
BLHTAZ replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I thought the same thing...but, those would be Chryco. The Renix era used a metric 20mm x 1.5 thread. I have toyed with the idea of swapping one of the later model adapter housings on to use the newer style filter.
