  1. $4395.16 top's.
  2. Maybe you glazed the clutch plate a little. If its an engine problem it never hurts to suck a half can of Seafoam into it now & then just to clean things up. Directions on side of can. But, until you investigate and diaagnois symptons it's like Russian roulette.
  3. Somebody better give that "Pete" a call an clarify this.
  4. Use an 87 - 90. This is pic of an 86 and the speedo connection is a little diff. Image Not Found Image Not Found
  5. Still looking? At the end of this ad the guy is selling some MJ stuff. Maybe the roll bar & lights are for the MJ. His phone # is listed so you can clarify that info with a call. http://corvallis.craigslist.org/pts/1699410761.html
  6. Well then I guess Jeep didn't see front LS benefits, so, I'll benefit from someone else's for-sight for mfg those after market goodies & someone's wrenching ability. Ya-hoo.
  7. I periodicly see them on classifieds. Don't know who created them or why, but their out there. Usually in the ratios I'm not looking for. Passed one 30 up a couple months back because it was 90 miles away, should have gone for it. Well look e here. To bad its a 2000 GC http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pts/1695852742.html
  8. I'm just looking to swap to a LS 3.55 and figure I might as well go to the latest mfg parts available from JY. Their cheaper than buying & installing a new LS in the old 89. I don't need any lower gear ratio as my rock crawling days are pretty much behind me. If I kept that up this old body with a triple by-pass & cancer would, and probally will, wear out before the MJ would anyways. Got a 96 LS rear end already lined up ($100) for it so based on opinions & info provided here I'm inclined to keep it simple & go with the late 90's axle. Thanks all for the advise.
  9. Will a 2000 Cherokee 30 front end (disc to disc) bolt under an 89 MJ without a lot of modification? Would one from a WJ work, Ive never been under one of them so don't know anything about Grands. Got some available, just sorting out possibilities. Thanks for any help here.
  10. Really, where? Probally meant these: http://www.grandwagoneer.com/
  11. I just pulled one out of an 86 MJ and put in my 89. Perfect fit.
  12. What year MJ? What transmission? After you put it in N to engage the transfer case (TC) into low and then shift the transmission back into a gear, what happens? Does the vehicle move. Why do you think your 4x4 is not working?
  13. Yeah I kept putting it off as I intended, and still do, to put a complete 98-00 front D30 LS under there. Just waiting for the right deal to show up at the right price.
  14. Finally locked the CAD in permanently today. Took all of about 30 minutes including time to clean it up a little. Certainly eliminated the jerking and banging that use to occur when I shifted into Part time or full time. Discovered while I had it open that the axle seal is non-existant. No wonder it shows a little oil drip at end of axle now and then. Put that on the to do list.
  15. Envelope sealed and stamped PM me an address. The loose green is for a beer if your legal, hope it's sufficient as I don't know what they cost now days as I haven't had one in over 44 years.
  16. Sounds like short or loosing grounding if it does it when you hit bumps.
  17. That would be totally ghetto. Does that stuff stay on in wet climate or slide down and drape over the wheels.
  18. I think later model (97-98 I think) XJ mirrors will fit, why not use them as they are larger and provide more viewing area. Bolt up just like earlier OEM. Anyone clarify that.
  19. Theres a seal in the groove around the vent cover which is suppose to seal against the cab side. Mine doesnt do that anymore because the cover is slightly warped from age and the seal has shrivled from age. The wind passes under the front edge of the vent cover & the noise seems to be intensified and pass into the cab. I think tomorrow I will tape around the edges of the cover and see if it quites down any. If it does then I'm going to find or make a new seal out of something to make it seal tight again or I'll just plug the holes.
  20. Makes me wannnnnn :wall:
  21. Bignuke, thats a nice lil trailer. Yeah dump the lid, makes it look like a dumpster kinda. Yup, sand blasted, primered and painted and that gonna look super.

    Why Live East

I go to So CA periodically, but never stay more than a couple days. allways fun on I-5 through LA. Traffic not to bad in SD. Hate SF though, pain driving to friends house, streets are a damn jig saw puzzle even with a GPS. Oh, you now become a minority shortly after passing Sacramento going South.
