Does anyone know of a company that make after market LED tail light assemblies for an MJ?? I an not beyond making my own, but I'd rather spend the time on other projects if someone already makes them.

I've replaced mine with the JC Whitney one. Good quality vinyl and padding, its easy to clean up too. I did it about a year ago and its held up well. It wasn't hard to install either.

Depend on how you truck looks. If your trim and wheels are black then in. If your trim and wheels are shiny then out.

Once you get above 3" you will need to consider other parts. Things like an adjustable track bar and longer lca's at a minimum will be necessary. It will be near impossible to properly align with the stock parts.

x3, I love my sb as the wheeler and my lb as my dd/hauler.

If memory serves correct its about 750lbs fully loaded.

I bought the 5" version the first time I lifted my MJ and have since replaced it. The only parts I have left on are the e-brake extension kit and the front shocks. The rest was replaced for various reasons but I wouldn't buy it again.

Check the connections of the plug going into the IAC. One may corroded or become dislodged.

You can also go to a chain store like NAPA and get a slightly oversized replacement plug. You will need to take the old plug with you.

You could also consider swapping for an AW4. I did when my BA10/5 came unglued. Its a little bit of work and maybe not as much fun to drive, but its a strong replacement. BTW I still have not come by any good tail lenses.

Same here, when I converted my 88 MJ from a BA10/5 to an AW4 I left the original ECM and have had no issues.

If you have a sliding back window, its pretty easy to open from the outside.

Cole thanks for posting your pics. It does confirm what i thought it would look like. Did you reuse the center support that are in the shock plates?

JOMJ87 if you have pics i would appreciate seeing them. i am swapping axles next weekend and was considering the flipping the plate. A visual would help confirm the picture I have mentally.

I need a right rear axle shaft for my Dana 44. Where is the best place to buy a new one?

Rob: No I did not change the balancer, I never would have thought to. I have had no issues with it to date. Dirty: After the swap the rear driveshaft was about an inch too long at stock vehicle hight. After I put the lift in it, i have about an inch of the slip yoke exposed from the t-case.

I just did the same swap to my MJ. I also started with a complete XJ doner vehicle (good idea). Below is the list of things I had to change to comlete the swap. Complete transmission, fly wheel, flex plate, cooler lines, trans mount, front drive shaft, complete throttle body w/ tps and kick-down bracket, complete shifter assembly, tcm and complete wiring harness. We removed the clutch pedal and clutch master cylinder. We installed an external trans cooler in front of the radiator. We ran into issues with the trans cross member, brake pedal, rear drive shaft and steering column. It took 3 of us about 12 hours to complete the conversion. Its one of the best upgrade I have made to my MJ to date (the BA10/5 is a POS). I've pm'ed my phone number if you would like more detailed info.
