Welcome! Reminds me a bit of Marcel’s Purple People Eater for those old enough to remember that.

Project “Tomahawk”
neohic replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
I want to say that was an ‘86 only type deal. After ‘87 they were the same between short and king bed. Can someone else confirm? -
OG epic thread.

What is it about the paint that you don't like? Can't say I'm a huge fan of the color, but some factory graphics could liven up the party for sure.

I've got what looks like #4 running from the pole to the house. I'm assuming it'll be underrated if the house and the shop were to be running at full tilt at the same time. My next move is to contact the utility company and see what they think. Regardless, I really should update the main box on the house and I'd rather do that when they replace the main line should I need it. I mean... I'll do live electrical work, but I'd really rather not.

Game changer today. No more extension cord running from the house. I need to get a heavier line run to the property as there’s been nothing more than 100 amp, but for now things are temporarily running.

Been a few years but I’ve seen the truck around. Very cool. https://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/d/colorado-springs-1987-jeep-comanche-x/7439293527.html

Nice going, Wade.

Understandable… but a bit of a bummer. Good luck with it.

^ Yup. Hit it with a heat gun to soften the plastic and pull the rivets out. Reinstall in reverse order or put a little epoxy behind the plaque to keep it in place.

Looks like a great start at a good price. Probably a good base for a drivetrain swap. https://cosprings.craigslist.org/pts/d/peyton-1986-jeep-comanche-4x4-project/7434624390.html

Interesting concept here. Why not put electric motors as an assist on a trailer? https://newatlas.com/automotive/thor-dethleffs-electric-camping-trailer/ I like new ideas like this to keep consumers interested in an old idea. This brings up addition thoughts on my head though: With electric pickup trucks coming down the line and battery life severely cut down with heavier loads, how about supplemental battery banks under the trailer to feed the tow vehicle? Giant trailers aren’t going away but the need to move things should be considered when mixing the idea with an electric vehicle. Thoughts?

Rad! I’ve always loved this truck. About six years ago I met Troy and saw this truck out at his storage yard. It was lowered then and I really wanted to buy it off him. At the same time I was planning my move from MN to CO. Obviously, I didn’t buy it but I’m glad that someone did!… and then again! Thanks for the updates. Looking forward to more.

We’ve seen the last AMC dealership closing recently. Next in line is the original headquarters that was used build in 1926 and used through 1975. Sad to see old buildings crumble but I’m sure the original engineers would be proud to see their products still on the roads. https://www.thedrive.com/news/43674/amcs-hq-will-be-demolished-to-erase-ruin-porn-from-detroit-says-mayor

I thought so too but somehow I’ve won a couple days?

This just might break up the used taillight market. Figure how many times we’ve seen prices like that on a pair of “useable” lights? I think these are a great option.
