The front wheels don't work either. The CAD is locked over, checked and rechecked, locked over. Yes, I suppose so, although I don't know why they would strip out. So, today I pulled the hose to the trans cooler, wondering if my pump was working. started it up, thinking I'd have to turn it right off or suffer a huge spurt of trans fluid...never happened. Then I started it up and let it run for awhile...no fluid out the hose, not even a drip. I pulled the trans pan expecting a pile of metal, or at least metal shavings, or a clogged line...fluid, pan, magnets, tranny lines, nothing. I disconnected all the lines, dipstick tube, cooler and blew them out with compressed air. I pulled the inspection cover on the bell housing and it was spotless...except for two halves of a metal "o-ring" about 1/4". Other than that everything looks brand new. The t-case and tranny fluid looks new. The filter isn't clogged, there are no big chunks (or even small chunks) of metal anywhere inside the 2 boxes. Can anyone tell me what my next step should be in troubleshooting this thing?? I'm suspecting the trans fluid pump...since no fluid is moving through it...I could use a "how to" on replacing the pump. Anyone think otherwise?? I had a 2004 Ford Taurus Automatic that (while I was going 70) shot out of gear and acted like it when to neutral. I pulled over put it in park, turned it off. then turned it back on and put it into every gear with no response. It never moved again. Had it towed to a shop and they said the pump burned up from a clogged filter while I was driving and after it stopped working it burned up the transmission. I had to get it fully rebuilt. I don't know if this helps you at all but some of the symptoms seem similar.... Seeing as how its obvious that your trans pump is not working and its still going into all gears with no response.

Pipe is used for bumpers all the time, and sold buy big name mfg. IT comes down to this, if the bumper is going to be for looks only and are not building it to take some hits on the trailer for protection then pipe is fine. if you are building it expecting it to take some abuse use DOM because the pipe with get dented and tweaked in no time. Besides that, as far as tube benders are concerned, I do not have much experience but I can tell you that the bender is the cheap part of the set up. All the different dies you need to be versatile with one is where the real money gets sucked out the window.

well if something went in the rear end then It should still work in 4wd under power going to the front wheels.

is your drive shaft spinning when you put it in gear? you could have broke something in the rear end.
-
nope. the front wheels would not have any interaction with the drive line if it broke. back would act normal still..

I had a 1993 ford escort station wagon hatch back. When i was done with it, it looked to be in about the same shape that one is in. My dad bought it brand new off the lot for 9k in 93. When It was handed down to me it had 220,000 miles on it and leaked oil like Niagara falls. it was the same four banger and 5 speed as that one. I drove it for a several years in college driving back and forth on trips well over 2-4 hours every other weekend visiting friends. On quite a few occasions I tired to blow the damn thing up and even got it to overheat one night and shut off, also had no response from the clutch besides the smoke that was coming from it. I thought for sure It was finally toast. Well.... the next morning it started up and never missed a beat. Needless to say I got another 90k out of it when I finally lost 2nd and 3rd gear. I ended up selling it with a blown transmission for $250 and 310,000 all original miles on it. Of course it read to have 10,000 miles on it though. About a month later i saw it driving around town. I would see it every once in a while for the following couple years then never saw it since. So who knows if its still alive and how many miles it ended up lasting. But if I had to say one thing, no questions asked most built proof car I have ever owned, If I was in the market I wouldn't skip a beat to buy another one and have a lot of faith in it. But, I will say, in the condition it is in I wouldn't pay more than $600 for it.

I know that motor had head issues that had to do with the lifters and valves? I may be misinformed. But my father had the recall on his 2012 jk. They replaced the heads free of charge under warranty. My sister has a 2015 Rubicon and I know the problems were corrected before hers was built.

your rear diff is a Dana 35 and front is a 30..... just correcting you so you don't get a front axle that you can't use in the rear

As a Design Engineer with a Electrical Engineering degree also, I don't understand why you wouldn't have them follow the body line. To me there is no mechanical benefit to it and since you most likely set up a jig to build and manufacture these from to cutting your pieces to assembly for mass production, it wouldn't have really taken anymore fabrication work either. BUT, to each its own. No negativity here for the product, just my opinion. And just that.

No I already had Serious Offroads 1 ton Steering kit on the old axle. I'm just going to swap it over on to this one. Just haven't had the time. -
Nice work, I'm digging the rear tire carrier. Can we get a few more pictures of that. With full view of the truck?
