Weird Transmission Problem...
Lee21490 replied to Lee21490's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is no power / comfort switch. They stopped putting them in in 92, And the dash / engine / tranny is out of a 95 Also i read around a bit and people were saying you can just hook up the torque converter to a switch to lock whenever you want with a simple splice, Can anyone link me to a guide / tell me what wires to splice? Think that will be the easiest way to solve my problem. /e nvm found a few write ups on it, Going to run to the store & get a switch / wire. Wish me luck! -

Your link brings up a "Page not found" Power comfort switch? /e Hmm didnt know it had that, I have the switch but all the writing around it was gone so i thought it was just a dead switch (I wasnt the one that swapped the 4.0L / dash) /e#2 According to some googling.. 92+ Xj's didnt have the switch, and were in power mode 100% -
Where to start.. For the last few days when going over 40~ my transmission keeps shifting into overdrive / 4th whatever you call it, Then straight back to third back and forth Then i started to notice today, that whenever i give it a bit of gas to speed up quickly, when i hit 30-35 it auto shifts to 4th untill i let off the gas & it shifts back down to 3rd Even when i'm in the 1-3 position on the shifter How is it even possible to shift into 4th when you're in the 1-3rd position... Transmission is out of a 95 4.0l Cherokee, In a 86 comanche Sorry if i made this confusing, I'm dead tired lol

Saw this on the way to work the other day, Its sitting about a block from my house. If anyone is interested i can run out and get more pics / info / etc just lmk. By the way, Its actually a nice red. I'm not sure why it came out pink in the picture. He wants $1,600 for it.

I threw the canopy from my comanche up on craigslist, Finally got a call about it today. Guy comes over to check it out, And parks his Blue 91 'manche next to mine  Talked to him for about 20~ Told him about this website, He was surprised to find out how popular the trucks are. Said he'd be checking it out tonight / Making an account :3

I would love to have the tail gate / Emblems / Wiper grill thinger & Much much more. But shipping is a b*@$£ & I'm extremely broke this month  Whats with the censoring? O.o can't say b'tch? -
$4.25~ avg here at the moment. Which really sucks since we have at least 2-3 BIG refineries within 5 miles of me... Top left corner of Wa.

An empty wallet.

I've owned both, Old truck was bench, 'new' one is bucket. Honestly can't decide which was more comfy.. The bench i had more head room / easier to see out the window, But my knees were pushed into the dash. Buckets i have more leg room but my heads an inch from the roof / have to bend down to see traffic lights :rotf: I need to replace my buckets desperately though, The bracket is all broken / torn fabric etc. Sucks being 6'5~

Little over 2,000 of dirt in the back. Thought my leafs were going to snap in half xD That was with my old 'manche (in my user pic) Havent really towed / hauled anything in my 'new' 'manche yet though.

Rear Brakes Catching Hard
Lee21490 replied to kawaboy13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got a procedure on how to "check" the height sensing bias valve? Other than if the linkage is correctly hooked up or not? Basically just meant make sure its hooked up properly, Could have came undone from driving / hitting something. -
Probably because they're shiny :rotf:

Rear Brakes Catching Hard
Lee21490 replied to kawaboy13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Check the height proportioning valve in the back of the truck. Its above the back diff, Just to the left. It controls how much braking power the back has, Might be stuck open /etc -
I have, Even re-bled the brakes the way the valve guide says. Still only half pedal /nothing in back. THink i'm going to just bypass the valve, Can someone link me a guide with what i need to buy / do? Thanks.
-
Sounds like his is the booster since it goes all the way to the ground, Mine gets full pressure at 50% But has Nothing for the first 50% (Although if you pump the first half pedal you can feel the brakes catch for a second) I popped up the rear end & put it in drive and couldnt even stop the back tire while stomping on the brake :/ Fronts work perfectly. So assuming i need to replace / remove the back valve? /e read a guide on how to bleed the second line going to the back. Never knew there was a 'special' bleed method. GOing to try that now
-
From the little googling i did about it, It supposedly is a backup for the front brakes, So if they fail it makes it so the backs work at 100%
-
Mind linking me to a guide to remove it? Crawled under & its not even hooked up / the valve won't even move /e Also on the way back from the store about a block from my house drove pass a shiny red 'manche :3 The usual thumbs up / head nod ensued
-
So... My pedal goes half way to the floor with no resistance & then feels nice and firm. Back brakes seem to be barely working -> Replaced the master cylinder / Wheel cylinder / Pads / Bled the $#!& out of the whole entire system. Still hasn't fixed it.. There's no leaks anywhere & the booster is fairly new & holds vaccum I'm at a loss.. Any ideas?

There's actually quite a few people with 'manches in washington. And i think i've seen about 10~ people on CC that live in wa. Oh? People actually like them? I have them on mine atm. Untill i get 33's & swap them out for some nicer rims.

That poor Jeep. Thats what i said. But a 4wd 39 ford will be interesting lol Ya, and it could be interesting on a cheap ford frame that is plentiful. :agree: Why not just build a frame and restore the gladiator? :???: I'm trying to convince him to restore it & get a different frame for the ford, Hopefully i can talk some sense into him.

When they tow it out to his house i'll get a bunch of pics for you guys. I think what he's going to do is take the frame from it & put the body of a 39 Ford on it (its sitting right next to it, just not in the pic) Yea, The guys giving him the title.

The whole truck.
