  2. not to hijack but is that pong on its top
  3. Well I went out to day and looked at the steering man that was scary $#!&. The track bar while lets say it moves A LOT. The ball is shot guys to the point that the whole front axle moves. So I got go and get a used track bar from Comancheon33 tomorrow and we will see how bad the play is in the steering then. Thanks for every ones input on these.

    BACK TO WORK

Yeah I know that the price is going to be up there and that is why I am just gathering ideas right now. I will buy the good joints. I am leaning toward the 4 link and running coils but I have not seen this done is there a reason for that. I have a couple of friends that run race cars/demo cars so I might be able to get my hand on a good used one. That or my other thought is to take the stock fuel tank and but it in the bed and build something around it to protect it. I still think that I can build the rear link for around 600 to 800. Am I right on that thought I mean I was willing to pay that for a long arm kit for the front so why not put that in the rear as will. And thanks for your input over on Pirate as well. I am learning and when/if I ever start these I will have more educated questions. So please bear with me while I am learning the language.
  5. There was some thing over on Pirate about this of course the guy was flamed and not supported (that is why I like this site) we all support each other even if it sound out of the this world (not say that these is) but it is out there. Any who get down of my box now I think that it would work your going to have to get with jbhill and exchange ideal on how he body drop his. And one thing I think you are going to want to do is build an exo around the truck and tie it in frame (MJ frame that you make) into the frame of the donor truck. One thing that would be worried about is how much the “new” body flexes in relationship to the new frame. I think if you take some measurement of the MJ frame that the donor truck frame you might be able to slide the frame rails down between the frame rails of the donor truck keep the main body strong and just tie it into the donor truck frame Looks like a lot of work and I have kicked the ideal around to but I just don’t think that it is worth the money/time. But then again am not flame on for think out side the box. Good luck and can't wait to see this thing going.
  6. if you have to try these they do work http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product. ... Cookie=Yes or at least it worked for me

    BACK TO WORK

I no man but you no how when your setting here a home and no money bills start adding up and stuff just goes racing thru or head like what if this or that or god forbid that happen and then the next thing you no your toys are 4 sale and you like damn I could of rode this out and every thing would of been ok. Well that is what happen to me. I almost sold my claws last night I mean I was so close to it and then I back out. Thank god I did I would of been kicking my a$$ today that is for sure. But on more positive not since I have had no money to work on the truck (but I still have do something to the truck) I have been researching the ideal of the a 3 link/ 4 link ideal and I have learned a lot and is one of the thing I am going to try to do in about a year or so an less something happens like I win the lottery or something. I have been following and poking my head around on the Toyota forum and see what they have been doing. I thought that I would be closer than an XJ. Well we will see where this goes I am leaning toward a 3 link with track bar and coils. More on this once I make the plunge if I ever do that is.

    BACK TO WORK

Well as you some of you guys no that I was laid of a while back and both of my MJ went up 4 sale and I thought I was going to have to sell them. Well good new from the peanut gallery they called me to day and asked if I would come back to work on Monday so I am in a great mood. And I am keeping both trucks now the only thing that sucks is I have to go back to work and not a lot of time to work on the truck but that is ok. :headpop: I will just have to make time for the MJ. If I can get my self up and going on the bills side of thing I just might have enough time/money to get my truck done my Memorial Day run at MIOBI.
  9. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 57&start=0 here is one that i found right quick
  10. i would get it, set it up for the MJ and if anything if you do break and axle you have a back up. Plus if I am right there is no carrier break so regearing is an option. I mean I have one that has 3.27 gears and is drum but i hope to have 4.56 in it one of these years.

  12. this has to be one of the sickest build http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 57&start=0
  13. yes i the ZJ linkage sorry for that
  14. No not yet it is 4 sale so i kinda gave up on finding the issue. I think it is safe to say the some of the joints in the front need to be replaced. So my plan was to up grade to a ZJ at that time. So if I get back to work and decide to keep it then I will fix it. I no that is not right of me but I am out of work and money. :headpop:
  15. there is a guy that was making those someday i thought
  16. i am with you there man that was my fault for not doing that
  17. lookin sexy man :chillin:
  18. I have heard not saying that JCR is not a great company but they have had some issue with these plate in the past. So the dims on the template are ok just make the (2) changes and should be good to go.
  19. I think if you move the holes back 1/2" you will be alright and so that dim should be 13" from the back and the hole are right width apart useing the stock bumper bracket as a guide. And the bottom streering bolt should be 4.5 from the top and you should be ok. So if this is what you come up with us no
  20. wow that thing is huge
  21. Here are those pics. The first one is the plat lined up with the stock bumper bracket and as you can tell the hole don’t line up Next I colored the stock holes in so you could see where the should be And last is the bottom hole of the steering this pic is not the best but you can that the frame is in the way. So how am going to fixes these is I am going to drill the front two hole where the should be and ream the top of the bolt out a little so the bolt will fit right. Then I will take some dims and post them for you guys.
  22. I had them made straight off the plan and I checked the guys work and there dead on. Like I said the front bolt for the bumper is like a ¼” to the front all the bolt line up but these are to far toward the front. And the bottom bolt on the (3) steering is about a ¼” to low so I don’t know where the hang up is but I am going to go and get pic here soon. My camera just died I will get pic tomorrow
  23. They don’t work :headpop: the front bumper bolts are off by about 1/4" to far to the front and the bolt on the steering bolts is about a 1/4" to low.
  24. i like that man looking good
