Ok as you guys no we all want to upgrade are rear axle to something better than the D35. So I went with the Ford 8.8 and went SOA and I need some thing to mount my shock to the new axle with. Shock mount from different places were 20 to 40 depending on were you go. So the other day I was a Northern Tool in there trailer section they had these 3” axle spring perches with a huge hole in the middle. So I thought at $5.00 bucks a piece I could make these work for shock mounts. So I went and welded a bolt to the spring perches. So for $15 I have some heavy duty shock mounts. The extra $5 was having the weld shop weld the bolt to the perch. The only thing that really needed to be done was the top of the perches needed to be cut down so the shock would not rub. So what do you guys thing.

Rokhound replied to Rokhound's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It won't work the arms that hold the plate need to be longer and it's also to long. O well. I might add some longer arms to it and build one out of what i have here. Well that sucks i thought i had somthing going. -
i don't no if it was here or on other website but there was a MJ 4 sale that had a Waggy front end and it did not look to bad. I wish i could rember where that was

Any one ever use one on there MJ. The parts Ranger has one and I am going to rip it of and try to make it work. I no that it my not bolt right in but it is a start. So my question is does any one have a stock MJ fuel skid that they could pull some dims off of it for me over all length and width. And maybe a pic. If this works this could be a cheap skid for all of us to use. I will post some more pics and stuff when I get it off and see how it fits.
