What are you guys using and or whats the best one to buy. Specs on the truck 89 4.0 5 speed 231 t-case. It not the ax 15 i need to just step up to that bad boy. My issue is that a throw out bearing only last me like 3 or 4 trips out wheeling and yes i beat the crap out of it but still these thing should last longer than that. :headpop: :headpop: thanks guys.

your right pete, but live and learn :doh: So what option do i have now. Are the XJ u-joints slip yoke the same as are MJs i would think so. I can get one made he just needs the ends and i have a couple XJ drive shafts laying around plus i can get them all day long in the bone yard.

I will have to agree and disagree with you my drive shaft worked great until i drove up a 4 ft ledge and smacked it right in the middle. I even tried to park the Tahoe on top of the drive shaft to get it to bend the other way that didn’t even bend it one way or the other.

yeah i went nuts and made one out of schedule 40 pipe :ack: yeah it bent but it didn’t twist and i wheeled all weekend with it :doh: Now my t-case is lose and stuff :no:

what other trucks or cars or what ever's drive shaft will work for are trucks. This is for a short wheel base i seem to keep bending them or twisting them and i need to find a replacement so what will work?? any one :hmm:

i agree but i priced some 3x3 - 1/4" thick steel 12 ft chuck 6ft per side for 50 bucks so I think that would be just as good :dunno: I think i may just go 3/16's and call it good

Thanks for the link my other computer crashed so i am on the new one and don't have all my links saved yet. Here is my plan and thought I would just use some 2x3 angle 1/4 to 3/16 thick and go from the lower control arms back to just behind the cab. As the back of the truck will be tube some day. That and the box is going to have to come off to fit some 39's on a 6 1/2 lift :idea: :hmm:

The frame is differnt on the MJ then the XJ so buying frame stiffeners for an XJ wouldnt work unless i want to rework them. I may just take out the carboard and go out and make templates and plate the crap out of it :hmm:
