If it has the original gears it'll be stamped into the ring gear. I've noticed my Dana 44's are that way. 8)

Now that is one fine machine. Glad to see another Jeeper with a Comanche join the board, especially with a V8 Comanche. 8)

Then he let her drive it and on the way back down is when hell broke loose. IIRC the lions back video was a lady driving off road for the first time. Her husband was trying to teach her to drive off road and have some fun. Something gave way in the brakes and the motor stalled. She ended up with a broken leg, but giving the situation it coulda been alot worse. I'll see if I can find it. 8)

I think I know the video you're talking about. If it is it was a K5 Blazer that came speeding down lions back. Still not a place I would want to be. 8)

When I had my 87 4.0 5 speed 4wd MJ in what I called "street mode" I had some 255/70/R15's on it with some dual bolt pattern Corvette ralleys. It looked pretty sweet I think, I'll have to find some pics of it. When I cut the fenders and made it my wheeler I had a set of 32" Sidewinders on it. They rubbed sometimes, but I didn't care. 8)

I fried the modem on this computer about 5 months ago when a bolt of lightening hit a barn accross the road. It wasn't even storming bad, just BOOM and no more modem. I watched the barn burn to the ground. It was just used for storage so no animals were harmed. I got pics somewhere of it, I'll see if I can find them. 8)

Yeah I'm an idiot, I forgot the spaces. I don't know how, but everything "magicaly" fixed itself I guess. I'm back to my regular computer and it's like nothing ever happened. I guess I need to change my password to where I can remember it. :nuts: 8)

That's what it sounds like to me too. Try dropping it down to 3rd gear while going down the road and see if it drops a gear. You can also listen to it shift to see if it goes into 4th. 8)

Just look at it as spare parts. :D 8)

Why can't you just use a Ford steering set up? Doesn't the drag link hook to the tie rod? I've gotta hunt me a passenser side flat top myself, I'm using a Chevy 44 front. If you go that route I've got a drivers side Chevy 44 knuckle I'd sell you pretty cheap. Just let me know if you need it. I don't think you have to machine the drivers side. 8)
