Buy some tube doors. Your Jeep is too clean to have some hacked up chunks of metal hanging from it. You still have that 44 for sale? :D RockMJ who sells the tube doors? I have a donor XJ with some doors that look good on the outside but the inside is messed up on them so they would be great to cut down. I plan to keep my full doors and use the half doors around the town and when i do yard work at my grandmothers orchard. and when it is so bloody hot outside and i am without A/C... that D44 is still up for sale if you want it. Its just cost of delivery that sucks -

random question; do you have a toaster that ACTUALLY toasts?
Blue88Comanche replied to jpnjim's topic in The Pub
mom has a toaster oven, she burns her toast or it is under toasted... but i have managed to toast bread to a nice golden brown, almost every time i use it. i think where she messes up is she does not turn the temp all the way up. her toaster has 3 nobs, top for temp and it gets cranked all the way up for toast, middle to control what heating elements to use, and the bottom is a timer. some of our little ovens have done better than others, and our ovens you had to stand there and remove the toast once it was ready or risk charcoal. -
i would try lower. i bought dads for 1500, and my Red Comanche shell for 300.. and my blue one was Free :D however it is starting to cost me more and more.... :shake: post some pics if it runs well, drives well, and no odd sounds coming from the engine tranny or axles, and has little or no rust. i would say go for it.

that is a good question... that i don't have an answer for.. but i would put the long shaft gear and try the different positions to see if the teeth will mesh properly, can't hurt too much to try right? edit, if you can swap the gear it self then that may be the way to go if the first try with the old one does not work. would need to find a way to keep the gear from free spinning on the shaft

is your speedometer cable driven or electric? Cable driven will use the Long shaft Electronic will use the short shaft

Black89Comanche - Dad's First Comanche
Blue88Comanche replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
We got dads MJ running again last weekend, despite the setbacks... The Truck fell of the Jacks Stands due to the ground being soaked all week. so the first matter of business was to get it back up... thankfully the springs and all of the suspension components but the drivers side LCA was in place. and it murdered that LCA.. So we had to but another jack and more jack stands as mine where trapped under the Jeep. can't have too many jack stands can ya right? :brows: so we got it up and had the front resting on 4 stands and larger pads. swapped out the LCAs and we where good to go. Dad wanted to swap out the Broken head lamp so i gave him one of my extras, we took the light to the front of his Jeep (now parked in the Side yard after the test drive) and i showed him what was needed to replace it. so i walk back to the shed to meet him with the Jeep and light when i hear a loud glass shattering sound. he drove over the headlight... :shake: i Gave him another and we called it a day. but that did not stop him from causing trouble in the kitchen. Mom had a mostly burnt candle and he stuck it in the microwave  (who knows why) and a few moments later we heard a boom, the candle had exploded and lit it self in the microwave. as you can guess Mom was not too happy. :fool: this morning Mam and I took it to a shop for an alignment, as it really needed one.- 41 replies

Dad and I where replacing the LCAs and they where being stubborn as usual so Dad came up with this idea. He used his small bottle jack to move the axle until it lined up properly and we where able to push the bolt in without any problems. this is one way to do it, if you have another way that works just as well please share  those where actually our extra set we ended up needing to use that weekend. because it had been raining all week the ground gave way and the jeep fell of the jack stands. (and the stands where on pads)

fixed my clutch issues. for now anyway..

Hopefully it will stop raining today and start to dry out for this weekend. Monday I removed the master clutch cylinder and the clutch line. I haven't been able to get out there and finish the job because of the rain.. So tomorrow maybe i will be able to finish the clutch work and drive my Comanche again. Assuming that is it stopped raining.

i lined up the uppers first, then the lowers. i was able to push and pry to rotate the axle into the proper position. i also had to use 2 jacks to lift one side and the other till it was in just the right spot. on my Blue comanche i used rachet straps to help rotate the axle to the proper sopt to connect the lowers- 41 replies

On my MJ: Ordered a new master Clutch cylinder and a new clutch line. On Dad's MJ: Replaced the break rotors and pads, replaced the wheel bearings, re greased everything with a grease fitting, mounted the track bar mount, modified WJ LCAs to fit the MJ, modified the front axle to fit the WJ LCAs, Re connected the front axle, replaced the front shocks, and replaced the steering dampener. I still need to order some ZJ V8 Variable rate Coil springs. Anyone with a Lowes store nearby, All Kobalt tools came with a lifetime replacement warranty no questions asked. just take the tool back to Lowes and they will exchange it with one that is in stock or will order another one if needed. I would check first to make sure that your store does it as well, but this warranty covers ALL their tools, not just hand tools like Sears and Craftsman. Our new Tool set

this may sound a little stupid but, is the rubber mount on the correct way? I also noticed the rubber part can be put on backwards (rotated 180 degrees) and move the x-member by about an inch left to right. there are 2 sets of mounting holes for x-members. My BA-10 used one set, and the AX-15 used the other. is the crossmember backwards?

you don't want it on there? not really, Had they asked first then Maybe. Might I ask what company? Rusty's OR did this to me and a friend of mine. We were not thrilled, especially since the description was entirely wrong RockMJ No, it was some local Hardware Tool supply company. I got a Call today and the Picture was removed. Here is what happened we will refer to everyone involved as Companies A, B, and C. Company A: Local Hardware Store and parent Company to Company B Company B: Online Store used to resale A popular hand Tool, and owned by Company A Company C: The Actual Big name Company that makes the Tools that Company B sells, But has no relation to Company B. I found out that a picture of my MJ was on Company B's website, I tried to contact Company B but had No answer. So I contacted Company A, the Lady on the phone said they can't change anything on their own website because their wed tech no longer works there, and that I should Contact Company C to get it removed. Keep in mind that Company C does not own Company B's Website and can't do anything directly. So I called Company C, Figured it won't hurt to call, and spoke with someone there that was willing to help. She said, as i knew already, that because they don't own that website they can't remove it themselves, but they would contact the owner on my behalf. Today I got a Call from the Lady at Company C, She said that the issue was resolved. I thanked her for her time and effort, and such great customer service. Its been a while sense I spoke with someone who was actually helpful, and will continue to support them. But what gets me is why it took a Call from Company C to get any action out of Companies A and B, clearly they had the know how to remove the Picture without their web tech. -
