Weird. mine came with that cone just like in your pic. Also came with a foam grommet of sorts and a small metal ring. I'll upload pics later, maybe somebody knows........

Thats exactly what I did Warrior. Got a line from an 89. Same one as your showing though. Everything fit except for the end. I just made an extension for mine. I called everywhere and it seems the line for an 86 is no longer available. From your pics now I know what that white cone is for. I wouldnt think it would last long being that its plastic and having to hold up to the heat. Any idea what the foam ring and metal ring are for?? I got plenty of slaves in the past and this is the first one I've seen those 3 things included in one.

Anybody know where to get one? Rock auto shows one but for a 4.0 not sure if its the same?? None of the local parts places have it either. ie Napa, Autozone, Oreillys, etc...... EDIT Rock auto lists one for an 87 2.5. Would that be the same and work for my external slave??

hmmm, never dealt with this so called "rust" you speak of.....

The last truck I had was like that. Easy fix was I backed it into a concrete wall and it cured the problem.

Do a search online. I've found a number of places that offer the molded replacement carpet. about $100 or so seems to be the norm with most of em.

Yes, I lost some of those too when I did mine years ago. On my 91 the gaskets were a clear film, very thin. Just used a very thin coat of hi-temp copper RTV on each side of the flapper for the ones that I lost. Worked well with no problems. In a later post with a pic of my dog, I saw where one of the gaskets went - on the floor. The little bastid probably stole it to play with it. :D Maybe the mutt ran outta smokes and was pissed at ya for not rushing to get more.

before ya risk destroying your door panel trying to get it off with the door shut. Try removing the window seals from it. It should give ya enough room to move the glass and to get a long pliers or something in there to get it open.

Yep, I think you are right. I put up pics with mine side-by-side, and the Sportruck is considerably lighter. If Minuit lets us know the paint code we'd know for sure. :D Look on the stamped steel plate on the drivers side firewall. The #5 - #8 digits (reading left to right) on the 2nd line of the plate is the primary paint code. It's usually two letters and a digit i.e. my paint code is PS2. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 X X X X P S 2 $5 says its the same as mine. :cheers: :rotfl2:

Paint color looks to be the same as mine. Yours has a bit less sun damage though. :thumbsup: You sure about that Don??? Looks really close to me. Mines sterling metallic with charcoal metallic rockers and flares.

If he can unlock it from the inside and the key turns both ways and doesnt unlock then those clips are the only things that can let go. Everything else is solid. I believe a dealer sells em for a couple bucks or ya can find em on any mj/xj, etc. I believe some vehicles had metal ones too.

Probably broke one or more of the plastic clips that hold the connecting rod in place. Cheap and easy fix. Pull the panel and take a peek.

Revoke the wife's drivers license!
