  3. Chico

    Lift/tire size

Get a three inch lift. Then throw 31's on when your ready.
  4. Maybe this will help. Jeep tech note I.S. 14E explains how to check the ride height on a Comanche. They use the chassis and suspension not the hubs and flares. Front: ------ Measure vertical distance between top of axle tube (looks like just inboard of the LCA mount) to the under side of the frame rail. For the passenger side, measure from the axle tube just outboard of the vacuum disconnect housing. The book says for 2WD models the distance should be 6-3/4" +/- 1/2". For 4WD models the distance should be 7-3/4" +/- 1/2" Rear: ------ Measure from the top of the axle tube to the underside of the frame rail inboard of the rubber bump stop. For 2WD the distance should be 8.2" +/- 1/2". For 4WD models the distance should be 9.2" +/- 1/2" So there you have it. That's the official specs. This should be posted on the DIY forum.
  5. B, is that cable and housing or just cable?
  6. For your truck, that is correct. But if you engage in exchanging posts with Chico, you will also most likely experience "blow by". :D Wahoo is correct. Especially if you sit on the tan couch in between us. Plugs: Plain Champions. Run a search and you'll see many arguments over what to use. Oil: I use Castrol high-mileage. Run a search and you'll see many arguments over what to use. Air Filter: Whatever is at the auto parts store. I don't think anybody has argued over this yet, so maybe we can start one now. DO NOT USE FRAM OIL FILTERS. I KEEP HAVING THIS PROBLEM THAT I GET OIL IN MINE :D WOW  A Comanche that only runs on three tires.
  7. ?Que pedo guey? Standard ComancheClub greeting: 1)Welcome 2)Beer is in the eladera. 3)Do not, I repeat do not sit on the tan couch. (At least it used to be tan) 4)Pete has some rules, please refer to the begining of Tech section. 5)Yearly fees are $113.95. Not only does he smell bad but the bastard keeps drinking all the beer!!
  8. Chico, Ebert's dead. Fat boring bastard that he was. Nice job. :chillin: Get the hell outta here  I guess next you're gonna tell me Bill Clinton isn't president anymore
  9. It looks very nice, but I think the bastard went a little too heavy on the armorall on the dash.
  10. BBBBUUUUUUDDDDGGGGEEETTTTTT......... :D Juuuunnnnkkkk yyyaaarrrdddsss... :D http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7703 Must be you Chico, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. :D Yeah, thanks Pete. I thought it was either me or the bloody umpteenth beer I've had and the fact I haven't been able to sleep since last nights posting fiasco :D
  11. OH, it's on baby :D Next time I'm in NC we'll hit up the local WOP shop and see who can bang up a sirloin the fastest
  12. Hey you wanna deliver pizzas down here close to Harrisburg? I can't for the life of me find anyone who wants to work weekends. :brows:
  13. Hey Jt, quick question. Was the one you bought from Advance the correct width, because the one I got from Autozone was too skinny and too long? And actually, Taz do you guys sell one still with the housing because mine is now jacked?
  14. Wait Bob, let me re-write that so nobody makes a mistake and uses an orbital sander with 80 grit sandpaper. I used a right angle die grinder with a 3M 2 inch surface prep disc to clean the mating surface. Not only is it a lot cleaner but it takes a whole minute and 30 seconds compared to the half an hour with a razor blade. Oh and your gonna need a torque wrench and your gonna need to follow the tightening sequence for the exhaust mani gasket that Alldata gives you.
  15. Yeah, but you know what, since nothing goes on the gasket I used a sanding wheel on an aircompressor. Cleans up nice and it ended up perfectly smooth. I went with the gasket remover and razor blade when I did my water pump and it ended up leaking the first time cause I didn't do a good enough job. Took the sander to it the next time and perfection.
  16. BBBBUUUUUUDDDDGGGGEEETTTTTT......... :D I seriously need to get off this site. I'm starting to see multiple letters.

  20. You can reuse them, but if you want get some new ones and do us a favor and post up the size in thread at the top of the tech section
  21. Ok, I'm gonna say it cause nobody else seems to have the balls to do it. 1)Where are the Victoria's Secret type shots? 2)Thank God this is over because my voting finger was seriously starting to get a cramp. I think it might need rehabilitative surgery. . . . . . . . . . . Just kidding, congrats man and I hope you got yours
  22. Well why didn't you just say so. I have a sender and pump out of a 91 4.0 Comanche eliminator I got a while back from another member. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8002 This was off of his. I never tried to use it because of the gauge reading backwards problem so you'll have to ask him if it worked correctly. Anyways, it's yours if you want it. Just let me rummage thru my shed tonight and I'll make sure my two year old didn't use it for batting practice.
  23. Ok, so you need a 91+sender and pump right? Is your's a 4.0?
  24. Here read this post. Wildman's info is at the bottom. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9433&highlight=fuel+pump
  25. Part number 7072s is for a cherokee fuel tank. It will not fit a MJ gas tank because it hits the pan in the tank. The MJ fuel pump sending unit is no longer available new. Believe me I've looked everywhere. Here's your options. 1)Get a cherokee gas tank and see if you can somehow mount it on the MJ. Never tried it. 2)Buy an MJ gas tank without the pan in the tank. This might work. But then your gas gauge will fly back and forth. 3)Try and find a used one. It'll last a little but probably break just like yours did. 4) PM Wildman. He knows how to fix them and he'll send you a fixed one if you send him yours. At least that's what he was doing a little while ago. That's your best bet. I take it yours is leaking at the metal tubes that go into the round base right? I'll do a search on the instructions Wildman had to fix them.
