Best Way To Clean The CCV Line...?
Boots replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
When I did mine, (on a 4.0 liter but should be similar I think) I used The weed whacker line stuff. I also sprayed lots of degreaser, brake cleaner, carcleaner and any thing else i could find. Make sure the little nozzle thing on the one end isn't restricted, it can be hard to tell some times. Using a compressor helped alot too. :wrench: -
I really don't like the idea of putting it on the roof for the reasons already stated and because I think it would look stupid IMHO. I'm thinking about putting it in the middle of the bed. That way, my dog can ride in the front (he is an Akita aka REALLY BIG), and then I can stack stuff behind the tire and it will keep stuff from sliding into him... Also,The tire is about the same height as the wheel wells so I could build a platform that goes over it from the front of the tire back to the tailgate. That way I could put the more valuable stuff under it and make a way to lock the tail gate and it would be somewhat safe. But that wouldn't happen for a while.... I'm probably going to have more than one mount so I can move it out of the way if needed. It seems like there are lots of different options until you actually start holding the tire up and the bed all of the sudden looks alot smaller... I just don't want to start cutting holes until i'm sure were I want it. Thanks

I'm trying to figure out a spare tire mount and need some inspiration. I would really appreciate if you guys could post some pics of your tire mounts. I want to use up as little bed space as possible... I currently have 31" tires but will most likely go bigger in the future. I'm considering mounting it to my bumper but I think it might look stupid... What ever it is , it doesn't need to be full time. I still carry my spare underneath. Thanks

Not trying to be smart, but are you going by the factory gauge? are you sure it's accurate?

Use one of each :brows:

Gettting the old hangers off is a pain in the butt. It took me at least an hour per side.

Sand blasted and painted new bumper... Going to installed tomorrow. :wrench:

I was originally thinking of something like the rubber donut but figured it wouldn't allow enough movement. I'm going to look into the flex connector thing. Thanks

45 views and no one has an idea :hmm:

Has any one on here put there exhaust through their bumper? It so, how did you isolate it from the bumper? I'm putting on a new bumper i got at pick n pull and want to put it through the bumper so it won't get smashed or beat up. I'm just not sure how to isolate it from the bumper without cutting a huge hole around it. Pic of bumper mocked up, not actually attached yet. it's 4"x6"x3/16" with 1/2" angle in the middle Pics of new brackets/ shackle hanger Thanks p.s. Sorry about the cellphone pics.... my good camera broke. Not sure why they are so big but I don't know how to shrink them....

Some times trying to drill it out with a left handed drill bit (spins counter clockwise) works better than the extractors. Or so I'v heard......

I'm pretty sure that you can flip the bottom of the connector open and then pull the prong thing out the bottom. Then you can un-crimp the broken wire and strip the good part of the back and re-crimp it. ???Did that make any sense??? :wrench:

I just use regular degreaser. Don't spray into the air box and cover any breathers you can find. Try to avoid directly spraying any electronics. It should be sort of obvious when you start doing it what you should and shouldn't spray. :wrench:

The random connector in the last pic might be the ground for the cruise control. Mine had one like that when I took it out. :wrench:

How does the bushing come out of the shackle?? It looks like it's crimped in there or some thing. Ive already tried using two sockets and a hammer and/or vise.(like a u-joint) Thanks

Check the plug under the back drivers side bed corner. Mine did weird stuff until I figured out one of the pins was loose. :wrench: -
bed lining the rockers and lower part of bed?

The nice thing about the Herculiner and similar DIY kits, is that if it does get chiped or scraped you can always touch it up. -
If its a ba10/5, you should strongly consider swapping to an ax15. The ba10/5 is a pile of junk and you will likely have to fix it again in the future. :wrench:
