    Aussie lockers

Anybody out there have any experience with aussies? how are they? do they perform as well as/better than some of the more expensive lunchboxes? how about noise when ratcheting (not that that is a major concern, just curious)?, durability? how many miles on them? how many wheelin trips? any breakage to report? I'm thinking about getting an Aussie or two and am just wondering if anybody could tell me about their experience with them.
  8. nice truck. s'pose somebody should tell him his shocks are on upside down?

  11. the ramblings of this gladiator concept are sourced from an article that was written back in July, and talks about it being available in early 2008. well, here we are, early 2008, and we've heard nothing else substantial about a vehicle that should be available within the coming months. if it were available soon, everyone would already know about it, and we'd probably be seeing ads on tv for it already. this article is a hoax!!!!!!!!!

    what the.....

i don't see anything wrong with the price. it's one of a kind! no other manche tail light out there will have the overspray in the same colour and exact same pattern. hell, now that I think of it, both my tails have overspray on them, i'm hawkin 'em! :brows:
  13. i'm running the m/t's and love them. imo they're one of the best tires out there for a rig that mostly a DD and a weekend warrior on the side. very quiet ride for a mud terrain, track fairly straight, and not too hard to balance. they also offer a pretty smooth ride. off road they offer very good traction and self clean well. that being said, they are not in the same class as a bogger or tsl, which offer amazing traction offroad, but less than stellar performance on road. the m/t's are a very nice compromise between all out mud terrain and an all terrain. also, they seem to last a long time as long (in the 30K to 45K km range) if they're mostly street driven. my next set of tires will most likely be ssr's or tsls however. the reason being that my manche is mostly an offroader now that I have the ZJ as a DD. I'd like to have a little more traction and stiffer sidewall for the trails, and can let go some of the onroad performance of the m/t simply because it doesn't see much pavement anymore.
  14. contact the mall management, it could be that they got tired of seeing it sitting there and had it towed somewhere.
  15. yikes, that was just harsh
  16. hehehe, i love that site. it scares the hell outta me, but i love it anyway
  17. Keep in mind, bumpstops compress, usually more than people realize. Make sure they are what's bottoming out and not your shock, cause a bent shaft on a new shock sucks. good call. luckily i bought the cheapest shocks i could find at napa that were the length i needed. if i break one, i'm out 20 bucks, and it'll be the perfect excuse to fix my shock issue permanently. i flexed mine out a little bit yesterday on a couple snowbanks in the yard, i've already found my rear shocks are too short. i have no droop to the rear at all it seems. will have to come up with a better solution after christmas

  19. i'm looking to swap an aw4 for the ax-15 in my 91mj. if i can find a donor xj/mj i will swap the motor/trans/tcase as a whole unit, as my 4.0 is old, tired, and leaky anyway. if i cannot find that, what do i need to find to make the swap complete other than the trans itself?

    your first car

1986 Ford LTD. 3.8 auto. my grandfather bought it in '87 from a dealership here in town cuz he knew the previous owner, who had bought it, drove to florida, drove bac and traded it in. he drove it until he died in '90, then my uncle drove it until i bought in '97 for $500. couldn't afford insurance so i sold it a month later for $600. good deal. i saw it on a used car lot about 3 years later for $2200! hahaha, i stopped in just for fun and asked the guy about it. this is literally what he said "i got it from the original owner about a week ago. he pretty much just drove it to church and back, and to visit his family in Saint John" (city about an hour away). i couldn't remember what was on it for mileage when i had it, but i'm pretty sure it had about 50,000 kms less on it when i saw it at the car lot. hehe, for some reason he couldn't explain the dent in the rear bumper from my grandfather backing into another car in 88 or 89. funny, i had forgotten pretty much all of the story to this car until reading this thread and thinking about. ah, memories....
  21. welcome to the site. nice truck. i hate you. when you're ready to sell, call me.
  22. any fisherman out there will tell you renaming a boat is bad luck. i believe the same goes for jeeps. your truck must keep the name it already has. if/when you sell it, the new owner is obliged to keep that same name, he cannot change it either.
  23. the dana 35 stuff, sure. as long as you have a dana 35 with drums that you plan on keeping for a while (ie, not upgrading to a d44 or 8.8) and you wanna upgrade to discs. the 44 stuff, i'd say no. the six lug stuff is pretty much useless to you and any other jeep. you would need the whole axle, then change your front axle to a six lug as well. or if it is ungodly cheap, buy them and sell them to others.

    Online game

??? what the hell? i don't get that game at all. how do you pic a rig? is it all just "pick a line floor it"? do you actually ever see any thing? so far it looks like the most boring game ever invented.
  25. nope. the undercarriage is rust free. i have small small bubbles of surface rust just starting on the body about the size of a quarter. this is why i was so amazed this happened. the rest of the jeep is actually in very good condition for an 11 year old vehicle from the maritimes.
