  1. i love my H.I.D's. i payed $90.00 a set from the H.I.D guy on naxja. i have H-4's IPF headlight housings W/ white H.I.D conversion & H-1's Hella rally 4000's W/ white H.I.D conversion
  2.
  3. toke me 4 to 6. no lift & no air tools put jeep on jack stands, remove belt, remove alternator, disconnect track bar , disconnect steering @ the pitman arm so you can get as much droop out of the suspension as possible, drain the oil, remove the oil pan, i clamped a pair of vice grips on the crank to break the bolt on the balancer, use a puller & remove the balancer, remove the timing cover, clean the timing cover & oil pan, clean engine block, add RTV & new gaskets & reinstall.
  4. :smart: the knowledge i have for ordering shocks is for lifted jeeps! :hmm: you will have to measure the stroke of you stock shocks. this means take the shock off & compress it then measure from eyelet to eyelet then fully extend the shock & measure again. then do the math for the shock travel (stroke) this is how shocks are Measured. i did some research & the price is right. looks like they went up in price  butt you said it your self!
  5. it would help the rear tremendously! &easy to fab :wrench:
  6. ya looks like the right shocks! Butt when it comes to buying shocks you should call & talk to some one or go in to a retailer & talk to them. shock are measure buy length . your truck looks stock ride height?
  7. i had problem find the stock linkage @ the junk yard's i went with the novak adaptors shift linkage & shifter http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/shifters/sk2x.htm it's big money so try to find your linkage. but it's a option?
  8. the engineering to back them! The 5100 Series offers traditional Bilstein technology with applications for lifted trucks, Jeeps and prerunners. They are designed for specific manufactured lift kits utilizing the stock O.E.M. mounting configuration. 5100 Series shocks feature Bilstein's single-tube, high gas pressure design for consistent fade-free performance and long life. Bilstein's patented digressive self-adjusting valving delivers improved damping control and a smooth ride on all road surfaces at any speed. * Self-adjusting deflecting disc valving * High-flow piston reduces harshness * Independent rebound & Compression Tuning * Larger Working Piston Area for Exact Damping * Superior Control for Large Diameter Tires The Bilstein Principle All Bilstein gas pressure struts/inserts and gas pressure shock absorbers operate on the same principle. They are manufactured with the rod pointing down into the strut tube, thereby utilizing the thicker, stouter body portion of the shock absorber to dissipate side loads. Consequently, due to the increased diameter and surface of the pressure tube, the Bilstein gas pressure strut/insert or shock is better suited to take increased side loads when compared with the conventional version. Additional advantages, based on development strongly influenced by the motorsport industry, include greater stability, better road handling, and accurate steering. This combined with extremely high quality manufacturing and materials, means Bilsteins will last approximately four times as long as Original Equipment. Battling Heat Build Up Conventional shocks trap the heat within the shock body and prevent adequate dissipation, making them prone to heat build up, fade and eventual failure. Bilstein's patented design allows the excessive heat from the oil to transfer to the outer surface of the shock body and dissipate more efficiently. The dividing piston also permits the oil to expand as heat builds, preventing aeration (foaming) and viscosity loss. This allows the shock to maintain full damping characteristics as temperatures rise. The tube of a Bilstein gas pressure shock or strut is fabricated using a special extrusion method. This process achieves an extremely tight peak-to-valley tolerance and maintains consistent wall thickness. Bilstein's seamless monotube design provides superior tube strength while maximizing heat dissipation and shock life. Ride Comfort and Performance Without Compromise The piston head design allows independent tuning of the compression and rebound damping forces to provide optimum ride comfort and performance without compromise. It features fewer parts than most conventional designs. The product's simple, yet exceptionally functional digressive design contributes to the extreme durability and long life of Bilstein Shock Absorbers. Better Built Bilstein's shock bodies are precision formed through a unique seamless extrusion process. This provides superior strength along with high finish tolerances. The shock body is then treated with a special paint finish durable enough to withstand grueling 240-hour salt spray tests. The finished body is mated with a solid, induction-hardened steel chrome plated and polished shaft, machined valving components and highest quality seals. Bilstein products are backed by an aftermarket lifetime warranty.
  9. My Two Cents go with a set of Bilsteins 5100's or 5150's they are worth the $
  10. it is much more complicated on the renix there is 4 bolts you have to loosen before you loosen the tenchener bolt. first one is above the P/S pulley then one under the pulley 13mm or 1/2'' then there is two more on the back of the P/S pump bracket loosen both with an open end wrench 13mm or 12mm then loosen the tenchener bolt under the pulley parallel W/the belt continue until the belt is loose. :wrench:
  11. I did two balancers, timing cover gaskets, & oil pan gaskets last week end one on my 90 XJ & one on a friends MJ :wrench: I got the balancers from summit racing Dorman 594-018 - Harmonic Balancers, External Balance, Nodular Iron, Natural, Jeep, Inline 6, Part Number: RNB-594-018 * $31.95 http://www.summitracing.com/search/year/1992/make/JEEP/model/CHEROKEE/Department/Engines-Components/Part-Type/Harmonic-Balancers Fel-Pro QTCS45117 - Fel-Pro Timing Cover Gasket, Timing Cover, Cork/Rubber, AMC, International, Jeep, 2.5L L4, 232/4.0L/258 L6, Kit * $16.99 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEL-TCS45117/ Fel-Pro QOS34308R - Fel-Pro Oil Pan Gasket, 1-Piece, Rubber, Steel Core, AMC, International, Jeep, Each * $24.25 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEL-OS34308R/ this is the puller i used http://www.harborfreight.com/46-piece-bolt-puller-set-37824.html
  12. what ever you do. don't go in all willy nilly= even if you have a 3'' lift & coil spacers to add. you will need drop brackets, new sway bar end links, adjustable track bar, extended break lines & maybe steering in time! I run the Rock Krawler 3 link 6.5'' arms http://www.rockkrawler.com/?r_intro=1 the rest of my build i used many different manufacturers that apply to my build much like mnkyboy was saying
  13. I used this for my light: http://grote.com/product.php?product_number=60011 :agree: that is the easy part i used Gen-Right LDE license plate light/ frame http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/Gen-Right-Lighted-License-Plate-Frame-p-17448.html
  14. I Think dot 3 break fluid is all that is available :hmm: It is a hydrochloric system! dot 3 is the right stuff!
  15. :smart: this will cause the outer shell of the pulley to get closer & closer to the timing cover!

  19. check out JCR's bumpers http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=XJB good quality and good for an idea i fabed my own :brows: just an idea. If you make them you can mach the style and function that apply to you
  20. for the rear bumper. starting w/ the bumper then i will add the tire carrier after with tubing disconnects from the bumper and bolted to the bed. :brows:
