This is a really long video of some brits trying to kill a toyota pickup. Think our comanches could handle this abuse? http://www.guba.com/watch/3000003544?da ... 699f61968d

yeah i couldent see ford keeping the snorkle. maybe the diesel engine hopefully the solid axles probably not the locking hubs(it would be awesome if they did though). i am a diehard jeep fan and if chrysler don't want to build real jeeps anymore maybe its time for someone else to. a bronco revival probably won't happen but if it does maybe the jeep brand could die with some dignity.

Future Ford Bronco? I seen this on jeep news a while back a while back it looks ALOT like the new JK but it has a factory snorkle. and it has dana solid axles with locking hubs http://www.jeepnewsnow.com/modules/news ... oryid=1318 wiki has some more info on it here http://www.troller.com.br/t42007/ And the best link of all.... If ford brings this to the US its going to be a real JK killer!

I put new gears in my YJ it wasn’t that hard really if you’re mechanically inclined. all you need is a beam type inch pound torque wrench $80, cheap harbor freight dial indicator and stand $30, 5 pound or better dead blow hammer $40. I would start with the rear axle first the carrier shims are on the outside of the carrier bearings. It makes it WAY easier for a first timer to set backlash. I set my pinion depth probably 20 times until I was sure I had a good pattern (I set the front axle up in 5 tries after I knew what I was doing). And every time you reset pinion depth you have to reset your backlash. This is WAY easier to do with the axle out of the jeep for a first timer! When you’re doing gear setup you don’t need the crush sleeve or the pinion seal. After you have the gears where you want them then install the crush sleeve and seal and preload the pinion bearings

Where to find new OEM parts?
jeepthing07 replied to ChiefJosh's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It would probably be easyer and cheaper to buy weatherpac connectors to use on the header panel wireing http://www.weatherpack.com/connectors.html painless wireing sells them to and the part numbers come up on parts americas website. so your local parts america/advance auto parts/western auto could probably order it in. And you could save on the shipping cost. -
The 2.5 and 2.8 have the same bellhousing bolt pattern so i think you could get it bolted togeather. But the AW4 is computer controled and no one makes a stand alone computer for it. I'm guessing the 2.8 never came mated to the AW4 from the factory? if the carborated 2.5 was available with the AW4 i would think you could use the computer from that but i don't think that was ever an option.

gas gauge, need help asap
jeepthing07 replied to dirty88comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sounds like a bad ground same thing that happend to mine. I had a bad ground to the fuel pump from the previous owner splicing in trailer lights. the fuel pump ground wire runs into the taillight wireing and is grounded to the bed behind one of the taillights. who knows why jeep wired it this way  -
Possible Damage?
jeepthing07 replied to Kenosha Warrior's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
my comanche rolls easy when parked on a hill in any gear. my 2.5 don't have enough compression to make it hold lol -

depends who you ask. i have read it takes GL3-GL4 gear oil like the asian warner's. I remember seeing the world class transmissions run automatic transmission fluid (thats what was in my 84 CJ7's T4). You could probably even run motor oil

jeepthing07 replied to 88swampedmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Please don’t tell me the fuse block that didn’t fit was out of a Cherokee! I was planning on using an 89 Cherokee fuse block on my 89 Comanche. I hope it’s going to work!! What year model and drive train did the fuse block come out of? What was jeep thinking putting the clutch master cylinder over the fuse block? -
i thought it was a joke at first that water looks like photoshop lol
-
there is a bolt that runs throuh the block you have to use a socket and a extension to get it out on the engine bay side. its not visable its recesed up in there i thnk its 1/4" or so i don't remember

It’s worth more than 2K WAY less than 20K I could see paying 8K for it its well built and looks rust free. But even for 20K it’s a hell of a deal considering people are paying 28K for the new wrangler
