  1. Pretty much nothing. All three are lunch box lockers. Some people may stand behind one more than the other. Lock rite is richmond-detroit, spartan is us standard gears, and aussie is torq-masters. They all three pretty much look alike too. richmond also makes a lock-rite no-slip which behaves more like a limited slip, but is still a full lock.
  2. Yeah it was on one of the free channels.
  3. War of worlds. Tom cruise jumps in one when running from a tripod.
  4. Just stumbled across this video.
  5. Make me second in line. I've been watching for one to come up for over a year.
  6. Anyone post any photos with their new headliner installed? did anyone add sound mat to the roof?
  7. I counted atleast 4 dresses for Mrs O. I figure each was near $200,000
  8. Actually this year it was just over 500,000 attendance. In 2009 it was over 1.4 million
  9. Wait wait wait which sensor are you referring to? there are two right there. The one just above the mount is your coolant temp sensor for your ecu on renix. The longer one further back and lower (just above oil pan) is the knock sensor. From my research they hardly ever fail unless physically damaged. I replaced mine simply because I've replaced all sensors trying to chase a ghost in my system.
  10. I've read through all prior posts on cc.com Two of the prior forums were single post discussions and the third seemed rather split that if you got it for nothing it's an improvement, but not worth getting new. I guess the question i have is people say the stock ignition is very similar and is more than adequate, however if the msd is a triple ign during each cycle under 3k rpm I'd think it would have more complete burn vs stock if the pulse widths are the same. It just depends as people posted if it made any significant difference. I'm not about to run out an buy one. Just looking for people with direct experience rather than hearse. I only want experience from renix era systems too on the 4.0. My uncle runs a msd on his camero and It made a huge difference, but again we have a computer controlled ignitions.
  11. Anyone running the MSD 6al or the coil? Improvements? Mileage go up or down? what was involved in the install? What else had to be replaced?
  12. Rusty's adj arms are inexpensive, however their shipping usually makes it so expensive you could get better parts else where. Check out JKS through 4wd.com they give us a discount and will usually give better prices over the phone or through a quote. Like mnkyboy wrote you will need an adj track bar, different shocks front and rear, at 5" you'll need new brake lines, sway bar links that are longer or adjustable. I think I'd actually try the control arm drop brackets from rocky road if I were to do mine over again (some people say they have horrible customer service). I'm currently at 4.5" with a rusty's adj track bar, jks quick disconnects, jks upper arms, rusty's lower adj arms, rusty's hd 3" springs, jks acos adj spacers. with this setup you can definitely tell it's a rough ride vs stock, based on the information on rocky's site it makes sense. http://www.rocky-road.com/xjcad.html
  13. He gave you the link to the correct forum. It's been discussed several times. The most direct options are 96+ or one from a wj 01 ish area. Start reading the link above. with an 88 either way is going to be about the same. mods will be needed, but nothing major.
  14. I wish i would have had Military wrap on mine when i had them built. Assuming that it does reduce axle wrap.
  15. Using the 89 master or a master from the donor?
  16. wondering if anyone is running dot 5 in either their brakes or clutch? Improvements? Fall Backs? I know about the hydro and hygroscopic differences. Just wondering if anyone has had a "bad" experience. I'll be replacing the clutch at the same time just because I'm there, even though the clutch is still good. I wish i had the external slave.
  17. Looking for someone near Brunswick Georgia that's willing to do a favor for a fellow Comanche member.
  18. Anyone on here have these installed? photos of before and after and how much cut off etc.????
  19. I don't have a clue what's wrong with mine then, I have an 89/4.0/5speed/ 3.55 gears/ mt/ 31" tires/4x4/ 130k on motor, tranny 4" lift or so, and i'm doing good to get 17mpg, And i'd say it's in great mechanical condition.
  20. I'd replace it. with either some vacuum hose or the actual part. make sure you cap it if you don't as it will cause your idle to be very high if you just leave the hose broken. Napa part BK 7151365 http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=BK_7151365_0066877628
  21. Well what's most important is that it is connected to a filter so crap doesn't get drawn into your valves. I'm assuming your talking about the hose that's about 1/2" in diameter that connected back to your air intake. You should just go get some 1/2" or 5/8" vacuum hose, or radiator hose pending whats available, and reconnect it. If you don't want to connect it you need to cap the one at the intake because it's after the air filter. and then get one of those little k&n style filters and attach it at the valve cover. I personally think it should be connected but have seen a few with the filter, I'm unsure as to any running issues using the filter at the valve cover.
  22. recently removed the vacuum switch on a 241 and replaced it with an electric switch to control the 4x4 light on my fathers dodge that we removed cad from. From my research a 231 would use the same threads so either of these two switches should work. 600551 is normally open, where 600-506 is closed. it depends on when the bearing on the vacuum got depressed in 4x4 (norm open) or when in 2x4 (closed ref to switch). I bought both for the dodge with the 241 and it ended up being 600-551. Right now i'm running my cad with a posiloc and it has it's own switch, but if i eliminate it I will be converting to the transfer case controlled switch. Dorman part 600-551 $10 at oriellys dorman part 600-506 $17
