  3. still suggest you look at that coolant pressure tank as it has too many nipples. make sur that back one is plugged, and if its the pressure release get a hose on it so it doesnt run down your fire wall and blower motor
  4. Kinda hard to tell in the pic due to size, but were the wings in the focal plane or was it too narrow at 5.6?
  5. It looks like there is an extra port on that pressure tank towards the firewall, is that plugged off? Here's the posts on the electric fan if you're wanting it factory: http://comancheclub.com/topic/32733-what-is-the-correct-way-to-hook-up-an-electric-fan/ http://comancheclub.com/topic/32861-electric-fan-stays-on/?hl=fan&do=findComment&comment=331350 Jeepcoma is correct if that's an 88 and it's original it's a peugot. 89 was the transition year for the ax. So unless someone already replaced the tranny. Here's a link to photos of the two so you know : Click for original post
  6. I think it was dakar who had a custom set of rear leafs made that were to net him 4" of lift running soa. You just have to get much flatter springs. But if you're wanting only 3" of lift you may as well get a set of springs that are a 3" lift and stay sua.
  7. Fitment issues are a thing of the past. This headliner is awesome. FIts perfect. All panels snug with out any strain. The liner is tight across the back and the front is perfect. I suggest anyone getting one has him do your visors too. I'm very happy. 8. This thing is beautiful. I need to paint this truck now to match the interior. Needless to say I'd talk anyone whose considering ordering one to order it!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/skidoo_j/sets/72157633234284128/
  9. Yep. For a Renix 4.0L that's about the sweet spot. However, you seem to have conflicting priorities. The things you do to improve performance generally won't help gas mileage. Larger, freer flowing exhaust? Nope. Bored throttle body? Nope. 3.54 gears struggling to push 31" tires? Nope. Many years ago, when the factory exhaust in my '88 XJ 4.0L bit the dust, my brother was managing a Speedy Muffler shop. He arranged for me to get his shop price on a custom-bent, 2-1/2" exhaust system with a high-flow turbo muffler (don't remember the brand, and it doesn't matter). The result was horrible. I LOST low-end torque. My gas mileage instantly dropped between 2 and 4 MPG. And it was noisy. That was the first and last time in my life I was actually looking forward to an exhaust blowing out so I'd have an excuse to replace it. Since then I have gone direct OEM replacement from Auto-Zone. For starters, you need more gear. I ran 31s on the '88 MJ for several years, with 3.73 gears. The overall final drive ratio (as shown by actual road speed to engine RPM) was exactly the same as factory tires with 3.54 gears. I would have preferred 4.10s and I think 3.10s would have prodiced better gas mileage, but I already had the 3.73s (bought when I planned to run 30" tires), so I used them. Not horrible, but 4.10s would have been better. I was thinking the 3.54 with the manual tranny would be about right with 31' I'd like 3.73's but I think the carrier breaks are around there. I do have a free flow exhaust on it too. Custom bent 2.5" with flowmaster delta 40. Maybe i'm 'getting what I should be with the mods i've done. My 98 VW gti 2.0 gets about 15mpg. and people can't believe how low it gets, but with all the engine work and stuff done to it I don't expect any better with street driving.... on the freeway the vw gets 30 though. That supercharger i think decreases mpg on short distances with the ecu constantly reacting to extra air.
  10. There comes a problem with the possibility of the non-existent police ticketing me if I'm going 60... It would be my luck that the day I go 20 over posted speed both cops in town would be on duty.
  11. I'm planning to put a gps in it for a few days to make sure, but based on tire size and gear ratio it should be very close to stock. As it came with 3.07.
  12. Okay so I would like to know what RPM range people are keeping their 4.0 renix in to get the best mpg and performance. Their "sweet spot". I swear I've ran and entire tank at 2k and and entire tank at 2500 and one at 3k several different times. The reason i ask it it seems Neither is better then the other. And I'm still only getting 12 mpg at best when i'm trying to get good gas mileage. So i'm not sure if it's my gear ratio is incorrect and i'm just straining the motor.... etc I live in the country so very few stops, and average driving speed of 40mph. Alot of my driving is hauling my dirtbike up to the riding area where there are a few decent grades, but from my house to staging area is about 4mi. one way. My current set up: 4.0 rusty's TB spacer Bored TB (HO butterfly) The spray injectors (http://www.precisionautoinjectors.com/product.sc?productId=7&categoryId=3) Dyna max headers no egr stock intake new plugs. new 02 new sensors all around. all electrical test out. all idle issues are resolved. all grounds are good. most of all cruisers mods done. 3.54 gears ax15 w/ np231 31 15" by good year duratrac Noslip in front, lock rite in rear d44 SOA
  13. Best bet for headliner http://comancheclub.com/topic/36807-interests-on-group-by-for-smsheadliners-custom-made-headliners-for-the-comanche/
  14. Zack, Honestly for the price steve is charging at 100 I'd get on the list and buy one when he starts production again. I tried to redo mine and there are alot of issues to encounter. first your existing headliner is 20 years old and brittle. I mean you'll be lucky to get it uninstalled with out destroying the edges. Second The Velcro is stronger then the backer board so when you remove the panel. One of mine tore completely off, the other partially off. Once the panel is out removing the old foam from the board so you have a clean smooth surface is damn difficult. And causes further damage to the headliner. Then if you're still stubborn like me and think I'm already this far. The headliner material at joann's is about $30 for enough to do the headliner, then the spray adhesive is like $15 a can. Even after following the directions my newly applied by me liner lasted about a month as i apparently didnt get enough of the old crap off the board and areas started to sag. This is why I jumped at SMSheadliners sale. I was happy with the very first headliner he had made. It's fitment was a little off, but damn it looked good. Once he gets this thing perfected it would be worth a mint.
  15. Very happy with the improvements in the Drivers corner. Here's some pics.
  16. Anyone who ordered their headliner and Did not get their visors done by Steve I strongly recommend getting them in the mail to be covered. He does amazing work and is dead set on making it flawless. Here's his awesome job on the visors. And it's away to help out a gentleman who's so dead set on making this correct.

  18. I question how the two bodies would be able to sit so close together. and manage linkage. The one alexia posted for reference has them about 4" apart and is not even a stock intake.
  19. I could not recommend a better gentleman to deal with then a1500ram (steve). I would have to say he has the best customer service and personal convictions to get everything perfect. One of the type of guys that is never satisfied until it's the best he can produce. With that said. Anyone whose on the fence about ordering a headliner. Get on the list. Steve does amazing work. I cannot think of anytime I've ever given such endorsement of a business.
  20. They say their flats fit both two door and 4 door. Therefore if they claim the Cutout flares fit the two door and the MJ you could assume you could get the flats to fit with out issues. And people on here have already done it... The pictures above are worth 1000 words.
  21. jeep part 5300 4589. its a map to throttle hose. cannot find aftermarket. maybe it comes with the dorman emission harnesses. there are two pieces to that
  22. here's a source that says its 22mm http://comancheclub.com/topic/32299-egr-valve/?hl=egr&do=findComment&comment=326447
  23. you talking about on the intake???? real simple piece of metal. get gasket drill and replace egr valve http://comancheclub.com/topic/31127-egr-valvetubeswitch-elimination/?hl=egr
  24. I even took it to the stealership and 3 different exhaust shops. Most wanted to just weld it up. I would think your best option if required to keep the egr would be to go strip a few extra fittings from the JY, I couldn't' imagine them charging very much for it. Maybe you could then get a few of the egr tubes too that way you could cut and bend a few until one actually fits. I tried to reuse my egr with the dynamax, cut them then couldn't sleeve it due to odd size and the exhaust shop couldn't match it nor any steel shops. Then we tried to weld it end to end, but the steel was so brittle that we kept burning through, set the welder down really really low got one made then managed to fold the friggin thing over during install. So I ended up plugging it. Other issue I'm still having with my dyna max headers is the cup joint in the y. I didnt want to weld it as there was no flex joint and no doughnut connection. The clamps they gave don't pinch it hard enough with the flex it goes through (i have new motor and tranny mounts). SO I took it apart and tried some of that exhaust clay and clamped it and drilled it and installed a screw. That lasted about a month maybe two before I got a slight leak around them again. I've kinda given up on it, maybe in several months I'll break down and pull the header off again and make a doughnut flange connection, or maybe weld it solid and ad an expansion/flex piece where the exhaust cross sides.
  25. Next we are to remove everything except rainbows and gum drops from our history books as someone could be offended. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/school-confiscates-cupcakes-decorated-with-toy-soldiers.html
