  1. I'm going to mount my temp sensor in the oil pan, and here's why. This was posted on my local forum by a Jeep mechanic. He's very informative, and I trust his advise.
  2. And I see you have a D30 with 37s. How do you like the KORE's? I've read good things about them!

    I HATE ICE!!

They call me.... tater salad. :D Wait, was that with or without mustard mixed in? You caught the tater! They call my son Tater-Tot.
  4. You're talking about a tranny fluid filter. Should have known since we're talking tranny coolers. As far as the reasoning for the remote engine oil filter? The largest oil filter I can use now is the Mobil M1-301. It's mounted horizontally and any filter longer would come too close to the starter + post. Plus it makes a mess everytime I change the filter and it's a PITA to get to. With the remote filter I can just undo the clip, put a little pan under it, and screw it off without spilling. But this is down the road.......... That makes sense. Bigger filter is better. Thanks for the explanation! Yes, I was talking about a remote trans fluid filter. I also ordered this from Summit Racing last night. http://autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.as ... 233&sid=12
  5. I wish I had all the tools, steel, and space necessary to swap in the 1 tons I have sitting outside  .
  6. Best of luck Jeff!!
  7. That looks like a remote engine oil filter? I can't really tell. I'm going to go the cheap route...nothing fancy. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku Those are the only parts I'd need to mount a remote filter. I'd mount it after all the coolers...to add even more cooling capability. I also want to mount it on the fender wall, behind the battery. I think there is enough room back there. While I'm at it, I should add a remote oil filter, and cooler for the power steering. What is your reasoning for the upgrade, hornbrod?
  8. Thanks for moving it! Here's what I'm doing for trans cooling on my MJ. Thats 2 stock aux trans coolers. The fluid comes out of the trans, through the radiator heat exchanger, to the top cooler, down to the bottom cooler, and back to the trans. I have it mounted infront of the electric fan, which I have installed a manual override switch on. I'm also going to be adding a remote filter adapter in the near future. This will use a Fram PH8A oil filter (Mustang 5.0 filter), which means that I won't have to ever drop the pan again!!
  9. I love diesels! If I could get my hands on a diesel XJ or MJ, I'd be one happy camper! I'm totaly blown away by the fact that you can run those things on olive oil...amazing!! Why diesel isnt more popular is beyond me.
  10. Hey there! :waving:
  11. Cool! I'm going to put the sending unit in the tranny pan. A friend has a drain plug kit that I can put onto the side...and keep it out of the way. Thanks for the help guys!!

    hey hey

I was wondering where you've been. Nice to hear you're still alive :chillin:
  13. Maybe this should be in tech. Sorry guys.
  14. So I want to get one. I was looking at this one... but don't know about the quality. http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto%20Meter/105/3357/10002/-1 Thoughts? Should I look for a better one?

My name used to be TwistedSymphony. I used to frequent another forum where the head mod was named TwistedSymhony...but when I registered here I had NO idea where I got that name from. I knew I read it somewhere, but had no idea where. Any ways, I wanted to change it and on a trail run a guy started to call me Twisty. So I decided to change it. I try to use Twisty everywhere...but I use other stuff too. My weirdest screen name ever was Isllamamon.
  19. Thanks for the pics of the doubler. Thats on my to do list this summer. Is the rear case a 23 spline case?

Biodiesel!! :clapping: Actually its called WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil). Biodiesel is completely different.
  21. Both D30 and D35 are 27 spline. Gearing depends on the engine/trans combo. I don't have an Ected or an ARB, but if I had to choose, I'd go ARB (but not in a D35).
  22. I was at a wheeling event with tons of rigs, and a few Toyotas. A Toyota owner comes up to me and says- "Scout rear end?" (D44) Me: "Nope, stock." he then looks at me like I have 328095 heads and says "Its a Toy...right." Me: "No...its a Jeep, see on the tailgate. J E E P!" :redX: Him: "Oh my god...it is. Sorry man."
  23. I was coming off the highway once, sitting at a yield sign and a Toyota drive by. I could tell it had a few inches of lift, and slightly larger tires. I saw him talking to his girlfriend, and pointing at my MJ. That made me happy 8)
  24. No, don't talk to me. That MJ is no more. I'm just using it as a parts Jeep, and will scrap it this summer. ;) I'd love to help if I knew anything about the 2.8. I think that Jeepco is your best bet at this point.
