Yeah just aboutmaybe 1.5". The right shock can kinda go in place but you can't get the bolt though the hole. The driver side shock is the one about an in away from bolting up. Brandon

The 4.5" shocks are about an in away from bolting up. They are all the way pulled out. I called RC and they did say that I have the right shocks. Brandon

Ok so After getting my leaf springs from hellscreek and putting them in I have to much lift. I got the 4.5" lift springs on and when we tried to bolt up the shocks they were to short. So when I called up Tom at hellscreek he said with the new leaf springs and the 2" shackles that came with my kit I'm getting around 6"-6.5" of lift. Well since I got the 4.5" lift kit from Rough country my shocks are only meant for a 4.5" lift. So as of right now I'm riding around with no rear shocks (not fun) because they can't bolt up. Tom said I need to put on my old shackles to bring it down to the right hight of 4.5". Well thanks to rust theres no safe way to re use my old shackles. He also said I can get shackles off of a 1980's Chevy blazer to bring me down to the right hight. How ever I LOVE the way it looks at 6" of lift. So should I get "new" shackles to bring it down to the 4.5" and use the RC shocks that came with my kit or should be or keep it the way it is get new shocks again and get 2" spacers for the front coil springs? Thanks for your opinion Brandon

very cool thanks for that Brandon

Get the rear 8.8 off of an explorer with the gear ratio that you want and then look for a front axle out of a xj or mj to match the explorer gear ratio. Or re gear a dana 30. the year explorer you need to keep an eye out for would be 1995-2001. Oh and you will probably need wheel spacers for the rear if you go with the 8.8 because its a bit more narrow then your stock rear end. Brandon

How would you re mount a MJ flair If you cut? I'm looking to cut about an inch for rust removal and more flex. I was going to do the same to the front flairs. And thanks Motion for the idea of cutting I was just gonna go at it with a plasma cutter and a template. Brandon

Do you have a dana 35 rear end? If you didnt then, that would be a fast way of knowing if your gear ratio is a mod or original to the truck. Brandon

yeah it was I shoulda saved a pic it was really cool Brandon

An xj will also work so this should be easy to pick up at a JY. Brandon

:agree: but It all depends on the scout. Eagle court of honor's From what I under stand is mostly planed by the scout and his parents. Just do what you Think you should and what you think they would want. Its a big deal but not a wedding lol Have fun Brandon

Wow yours sounds like it was a hassle to get done but I'm glad you did it! i restored two basketball courts in town that have been rotting away For the past 30 years. When I 1st got started I thought It was going to be kinda easy... 150 man Hr's from then I realized it was it was nothing what I thought it was going to be. I pressure washed the 2 courts (that took most of the time) re painted the lines, which took alot of work because after washing the courts I had to look up where the lines had to be because 90% of them just washed away. Then I filled in the cracks in the courts and picked up some trash and what not. It may sound like alot and if I had not of waited until the last minute I would have done more but man was that a bunch of work  Here are a FEW pic's of before and after: I had 100's of pic's but that would take for ever to upload lol I'm really glad I did what I did because since I did finish the two courts I have seen 3 or more times as many people out there using the old courts and they look brand new! Even If i didnt get my Eagle I would have never regretted doing all that work. I enjoyed it and learned alot. Brandon
