  1. It has to be spark if there is constant fuel at the fuel rail. Try this, put 12 volts to the connector underneath the coil, that should fire up the ignition system and get the fuel pump running, then try to start the truck, if it starts and runs that means the wires going into the coil aren’t doing what they are supposed to
  2. Your adjustment on your cable could be off too, go under the truck and see if you can push the selector manually into park, then if you can follow the cable up and try and adjust it to take out the slack
  3. Fast forward some more and the floors get cut out and welded in with flat sheet metal on top also got the passengers rocker welded in But I didn’t get any good pictures of it. Finally got a new Acc black carpet to finish off the interior And here it sits now, it’ll be registered and inspected soon, as soon as I finished everything it stopped charging all of a sudden
  4. This is a project that has been sat on for quite a while. It was purchased 3 years ago with 280k miles, A blown engine, and rotted out floors and rockers. When I was 16 I stripped the whole interior, cut the rot out of the rockers, put all the parts I need in random places and then just lost interest in it for a while. fast forward 2 years and I finally get the motivation to work on it again so I don’t have to daily the 60k mile survivor MJ in the New England salt land. The engine came out of 2001 XJ That rolled over and was then purchased by my dad in 2003 to be used as a parts truck for his MJ. The 01 Motor sat under a bench for 19 years and fired right up and runs great with a little seafoam in the oil to clean things up. The transmission and t-case came out of my dads old 98 2dr that rotted apart on us and got cut into pieces by us. Rip 98 2dr the rest is being saved for a future trailer build Old engine out The one ton crane from harbor freight doesn’t lift high enough to get the engine+trans out with the header in place New engine in
  5. AW4 is your trans, they are pretty much bulletproof
  6. What engine does your truck have and is it an automatic or manual here's your possible combinations, 4.0+auto=AW4 4.0+Manual in 87=Ba10-5 (Peugeot) 2.5+manual =ax4\ax5 (4speed vs 5speed) 2.5+Auto= AW4 or A904 (4speed vs 3speed)
  7. Yeah lol, they can just do that sometimes, that’s why I carry 2 extras with me lol
  8. Took some more parts today, got all the ac components, radiator, vents, intake box and intake pipe, and a couple other misc parts. Here she sits now in a new spot. They moved her with the forklift on the roof so the interior is worse for wear
  9. I should have 4.10 gears with the auto and my brake controller before I even think about towing long distance, but me too. I absolutely would say these trucks can take it and even a little more
  10. I have the automatic, you may be able to tow 5k with an ax-15 I’d just be worried about burning out the clutch or stalling when starting, the torque converter gives you a big advantage at starting and you can still downshift manually to slow down. You just have to watch the automatic trans temp especially accelerating up a hill
  11. Lol my dad said the same thing Pete beat me too it
  12. Also the body can definitely take it, here’s the comparison both same setup as before, one is 1 ton in the bed on flat ground, the other is about a 5000lb trailer on the truck with a hill not in its favor. And the 1 ton is way more squatted, it’s all about the brakes and sway. also insert towing boat and cut up xj that pulled no problem
  13. Picked up this trailer today, 14’x8’ enclosed trailer, 1950lb dry weight, 10,000gvwr on it. It towed fantastic with just a standard ball setup, and no trailer brakes. I have an aluminum radiator with no auxiliary fan, with metric ton springs and a 4.0 automatic. Didn’t even get to operating temp on the 30 minute drive home.
  14. Just picked up this 14’x8’ enclosed box trailer today to haul around some of my toys and as a little storage in the yard, the Comanche towed it great especially with no brake controller. Definitely need to make a few upgrades to the truck +trailer before we load it down. Trailer weighs 1950 empty, and has a 10,000Lb rating.

  16. Lol yeah, it’s kinda hidden now behind the building they keep the new cars at, just look for the fed ex trucks and you should see it, I’ll probably be back soon to grab some parts for the87
  17. Here’s it now, robbed some parts from it like flares, mini console, windshield trim and other misc things.
  18. Here’s all the color options offered in 89, some colors were only around for a short time so sadly it may be hard to get a touch up paint.
  19. Thank you, I definitely agree. It was great to meet you an get to talk for a little bit
  20. Pull the distributor cap and make sure the cap and rotor look healthy
