  1. Any updates on this? I'm interested to see how it turned out, as I may be looking at a set of FSJ waggy leafs in SUA configuration to help drop Baby, instead of using blocks.
  2. I believe the OP is asking about the cowl trim, not the windshield trim. In which case, IIRC, there is just a few screws holding it on.
  3. Both of my inspirations in the same post.
  4. Is it just me, the angle of the pic, or does the first MJ have 2 door XJ doors up front?
  5. 12" Kicker Comp's as well. They fit fine, only had to move the seat forward one click on the slider, which was still more than enough room for my 6'1" self to fit with no complaints.
  6. Build date: Unknown Model: Pioneer Driveline: 2.5/AX5 LWB 2wd with D35 Mileage: 171,000 as I last remember Location: Home is Menomonie, WI. Currently at Jeepco's. Status: Was DD, currently project, will be summer cruiser only. Notes: Almost completely rust free, originally a Texas truck, brought to WI in '94. I bought it in '96 with 114,000 miles on it. It is currently lowered 3" in front via ZJ rear coils, and will be lowered in the rear as well. Truck is named 'Baby'. She is currently in process of being stripped and repaired by Jeepco & Co. and receiving an 87 wagoneer header panel. Exteriour colour: Originally dark blue metallic, will be painted pearl white until I can get my scheme finished. Interiour colour: Currently dark blue as well, but will be a mix of blue and black to match the racing seats going in. Current owner: Joe L. aka beaterjeep
  7. No, the ignition switch is down lower on the column. Towards the firewall, pretty much on top of the shaft. Mine had a blue connector going into it, with I think it was 5-6 wires coming off of it. HTH.
  8. There's one in the projects section, viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19341&start=30 .
  9. Do your horn and radio still work? If not, I had similar issue on my XJ (no horn, wipers, radio, heat/fan control) and it turned out to be a fried ignition switch (among a LOT of unneeded wires from PO :headpop: ).
  10. It's definitely hard to see them go, that's for sure. I hope your friend either joins up here to share the pics, or at least sends them to you to post for us. Your build truly has been an inspiration to many people, and I for one would like to see it as it further progresses.
  11. Sad day today here, I watched my Baby leaving me. :( Good news though, she will be receiving some much needed work in the next few months. :brows:
  12. An extra arm and leg for when I break down and have to buy parts that break.
  13. Just fab up a blank piece to fit in the shifter bezel area, and cut a hole in it for a built in drink holder!
  14. Don't forget, I also have the Waggy header panel to go with too! But, that's complete, so it's an easy swap over. Pick a weekend, I'll see if I can make it. :rotf:
  15. If my health and money allows, I'd be game.
  16. Had two MJs, now down to one; and the XJ.
  17. It would be a bit of work to make fit, as the rooflines are different. The MJ has a higher roofline with more arch right at the front, whereas the XJ is flatter with less angle to it. It's feasible, yes, and might even fit without modding, but it will sit at a funny angle (downward more than normal).
  18. Far as I know, it just needs a fusible link, new rear brake lines, left tail light and working left brake light. Oh, and I know I need tires too, don't know how much longer the slicks will last. Which means, either have to rob Baby of her shoes, or fork out cash for tires. :ack:
  19. I need something to do this weekend, but need a non-ticketable Jeep to make it anywhere.
  20. If you expect the unexpected, doesn't that then make the unexpected expected, thus nullifying the point? :huh???:
  21. ZJ Coils! Can you tell me what adjustment you ran into with the steering to clear everything up? 3" should satisfy me with the front, i'll run a small tire to try to make up for some of it also. (Figure I can gain another inch of axle-and-all drop from like a 50 series tire in place of the 60 or 65 series 15" tires that are currently on it. I really appreciate the ZJ coil input, I'm excited to run to pull-a-part this weekend and grab some coils. Can you tell me any additional info on the ZJ drop? Did you run into any issues with the suspension or control arms with that drop? Thanks again guys for all the input. The ZJ rear coils (make sure you get the REAR coils, not the front) in question are in the front of my street truck (click on Baby in my sig to link to the build thread with more info). The original drop was around 2", but because the rear coils of the ZJ weren't designed to withstand the weight of even the 2.5L that I have (if you have a 4.0L, the final drop should be more than 3"), they have settled to a nice 3". They will make the ride a lot stiffer, but that's anouther aspect I was wanting in Baby. The only issue we had was that the outer lip of the upper bumpstops had to be ground down a little bit to clear the coils; other than that, it was a smooth install. Afterward though, you will need to do an alignment, no matter what, as any fluctuation in height will throw the geometry off. For the rear, we will be using a set of 3" blocks for the time being until I/we can fabricate a working 4 link setup on bags, with provisions for coils.
  22. $600JeepMJ... PLEASE STOP digging up old threads like this! It is a nuisance and only confuses people and pisses them off! :headpop: There is NO REASON for it, other than your obsession with padding your post count. I have kept to myself about this for too long, and I'm throwing it out to be known that I for one don't appreciate it. /
