  1. That thing is gorgeous 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  2. Yeah our local hospital just announced massive layoffs and everybody else including executives are taking a big pay cut. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  3. Today We are topping off the two barges we run here in LA. 40k barrels each. Then going to a lay berth. I have at least 69 hours off as there are no jobs in the computer. Getting groceries tomorrow for 9 people is going to be interesting. We won't go hungry but the TP situation is on the critical side. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  4. Well I'm back on my tug for the next 21 days. Flew from the east coast to the west coast. Lots of flight cancellations but the fifth one actually took off. Airports are not deserted but they aren't full either. Commuter flight to Atlanta was about half full. And flight from ATL to LAX was about 2/3 full. Middle seat not sold but 2 people in almost every row on both sides. Airlines are Consolidating flights. Most Atlanta restaurants were open. Lax restaurants were not. If you fly take your own snack and drink. Shorts flights have none. Cross country gets a small bottle of water and 2 cookies. That's it. Have to say Airports and Airplanes are the cleanest I've ever seen them. Now is the time to fly. It was actually enjoyable. First time I haven't felt like cattle since before 9/11. Once I got to the tug, we had to take our temperature and fill out a form saying I've not been exposed and feel good. Now for the wake up. I'm under contract with Marathon petroleum fueling cargo ships. Ship calls to LA/Long Beach are down over 30%. Our workload has decreased dramatically. Today we found out Marathon has shut down its local refinery. Tanks are full. There are sending us to a competitor to get the fuel now to deliver to the ships. But there aren't any customers. We have nothing scheduled for 72 hours (as far out as we can schedule). In the last 21 days while I was on my off time over 20 oil tankers have shown up and anchored offshore full of crude oil. There's no place to offload it. In the coming days there's expected to be 20% of the world's daily supply will sitting offshore of California on anchor waiting. And no place to go. And the numbers are growing up in Puget Sound as well. I can only imagine what the backup is in Houston and New Orleans. So for the Love of God, get those Comanches rolling and burn some gas cause I need my job.[emoji1] 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  5. It can be tedious. On a bench its really not bad as long as have good light and I'm wearing my glasses. Laying upside down or hanging in a hole working in questionable light in places I'd prefer not to stick my hands it not so much fun. And its usually 120 degrees. Definitely wouldn't want to do it twice. And its never the easy one to get at.
  6. All you need is something like this. Just make sure its enough slots and the wires match up to the corresponding holes on each side. You can leave blank ones. I rebuild these things all the time on the new electronic nightmare engines i work on. https://www.walmart.com/ip/9-Pins-Electrical-Wire-Terminal-Wiring-Connector-Socket-Plug/119130727?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=571&adid=22222222227291201732&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=354212827421&wl4=aud-430887228898:pla-761093099464&wl5=9010169&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=111838760&wl11=online&wl12=119130727&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjwkPX0BRBKEiwA7THxiJif-bQ5TkBvopYsdm3xIrQD0v09Oup5pWdZ_8pmRtfa7zYTe4NVuRoCPe0QAvD_BwE
  7. They do vintage stuff as well. Tell them what you have they may can make a harness. Its what they do. Company came about because the founder couldnt install a radio in his vintage Porsche. Its just a plug All you need is a female and male plug. Helps to have a special tool or a pick but anybody can wire these plugs anyway they want to.
  8. Checkout crutchfield. I just put a new radio in and they sent me a harness free with radio purchase. Just tell them what you have. Bet he has something will fit. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  9. Yeah as a former USAF member I never understood why people would jump out of a perfectly good airplane. It's gotta be bad if that's the better option to land 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  10. I could less about him getting out the house and hanging with friends. He's there to get a degree. (2 actually) He already has 2 associates he got while in high school. If he could have gone there Online and live at home he would have. Online courses are really big around here. I know a teacher that got her degree and never stepped foot on a campus while raising 2 kids. I know labs have to be done for certain classes, but my kid is doing digital arts and computer science. Got internet written all over those degrees. Unfortunately he is a Senior and got thrown off campus last summer due to lack of housing so we got him an apartment. (State law First year students must live on campus, they have first priority.) Actually just signed another year lease for his Master's right before all This happened. Sure do Wish I could put that rent back in my bank account. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  11. Other than my son's college now doing it online, it's business as usual in eastern NC. Both myself and wife working our normal jobs. Toilet paper was scarce but not anymore. Personally I think The world has gone nuts. I'll be on an airplane on Tuesday flying to LA just like I do every 3 weeks. By The way. 4 year university can now be 100% online....then why have I been paying room and board last 3 years? Boy could have stayed home and saved me tens of thousands of dollars. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  12. This was sitting at a junkyard near me last week. He does ship anywhere. Pm me and I can give you his contact info. It's in Washington, NC Ps. I got those taillights. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  13. Don't toss it...not sure how hard they are to fix, BUT..... Tailgates are out there. Hard to find but still floating around. Hit the junkyard and jeep salvage lots. Online search. I know where One was in eastern NC last week with some rust but not bent. May still be there. Keep that tailgate latch. Look hard and pounce when you find it. Shipping cost may be a factor. So would bodywork on your current one. If your metal is good get an estimate to fix it. Then compare to getting another, ship it, and fix it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  14. So apparently i didn't lock it onto the back of the cluster. Small detente didn't lock it. Push harder and it locks onto it. Has to click twice. Works great! Now for the oil leak I found while fixing this. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  15. Before and during. Pulled these out of a junkyard. Playing with one wheel learning how to do this. Already figured out one of my abrasive wheels is too abrasive. Gotta stop for now. Hopefully I can polish and buff it tomorrow then put the clear coat back on it. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  16. Which end? Tranny side is easy to look at. Dash....not so much. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  17. I broke the perfectly good old one when replacing the volt meter. It still worked but was real shakey. Bought a new one and installed it. It's completely dead now. 89 Eliminator. What did I miss. Everything fit like a glove. New cable is about a foot longer than the old. Got creative laying it out but no sharp bends or loops. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  18. All mine are brass colored but my house was built in the 90s. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  19. Only took 15 or so years but we finally have one of those elongated toilets for those of us with larger rear ends. Bought the house 18 years ago and this was First on the list. But last to be done. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  20. Recent work. Painted and installed new relay cover with clips! Took three clocks to make one working and installed along with a new Bluetooth capable radio. Installed new voltage gauge as the other showed low voltage. I've confirmed the voltage output is fine at 14.1 volts. New gauge shows even lower but tested fine on the bench. Not sure what's happening there. But in the process I broke the speedometer cable clip. So now I've ordered a new one. Determined the high output AC valve is not sealing properly causing a refrigerant leak. Ordered two new valves to replace both on the compressor. I have obtained 4 new Eliminator style wheels that need polishing. And I painted the detailed background on all the badging. Installed salvaged pre ignition heater hose. Maybe today I'll install the new steering wheel 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  21. I got lucky and pulled it off a junkyard. Still in great shape I looked at all the local auto parts stores and couldn't find the proper size. I hadn't searched Grainger or McMaster type places yet. But when I was going to get serious about it they were my next places to search. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  22. Lol. I just replaced mine today. Yours is not factory. Somebody found a duct and put it in. It is a ignition pre heater hose I think. What it does is sends hot air to the airbox to help starting. It is attached to a vacuum switch that operates as needed. At least that's what was explained to me. Look at my photo. I just pulled this one off a junker today and replaced my worn out hose tonight 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
  23. I stumbled onto mine. It's a survivor in good working order and ZERO rust, immaculate interior, only 108k miles when i bought it. It has never been modified in any way. It is too nice to convert to 4wd or Jack up etc. Decided to refresh it to look like new from factory. A few small plastic items set of eliminator rims and then a decal package and paint job with clear coat and I'll be done. It's that nice 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

Yeah I have another clock with the factory plug. Gonna examine the two a little closer but I'm gonna try and splice the plug in. 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original

    Score!!!

I forgot who on here messes with the factory radios. This truck still had a working one. He also has several factory radios he says he would let go cheap. If anybody is interested let me know and I'll put you in touch with him. Located in Washington, NC. He pulls the parts for you. You can help if you wish. Ships anywhere 89 Comanche Eliminator 2wd 4.0L 5 speed PukeGoat Factory Original
