Why would you take the interior out? Not to :hijack: But, uh... if you want the interior (either partial or full) from Truck A, to put into Truck B. Or, if you want to sell the black interior to someone who is looking for black interior. Some people are, no offense, easily swayed enough to pay a good chunk of change for some black interior. Why, I'll never know. This is all of course, depending on how Backdraft wants to use this truck, should he buy it. Just saying.

B-Pillar Courtesy Light Connector
Zenobian_84 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 Appreciate the link Don, but I'm probably going to bypass both plugs completely. They've seen better days, and one's on the verge of cracking in half. -
B-Pillar Courtesy Light Connector
Zenobian_84 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Bump? :dunno: I really don't want to hack the connector off, but if I have to hardwire everything, then I guess I might just have to. -
Do you have any pics of the 2.5 badge?? I would love to see if this would be something for my truck. Old picture, but the best one I have of it on the truck. If you want me to take another, updated picture, I can in the morning. It definitely gives some identity to the pickup, that's for sure. The badge by itself.

I had these style working B-Pillar lights at one time; but lost the connectors except for one. :fs1: (Pictures courtesy of BLHTAZ) I had 1/8 inch male spade connectors (going from the aftermarket lights into the factory sockets; as shown in the next picture) but can't find them for sale ANYWHERE. If anyone can tell me where I can find connectors for this style of lighting, I would be extremely happy.

Start at $700, try to crank it. If it has a hard time cranking, let on you know what's wrong, and what it'll take to get it fixed (some $2-300 fix). If he doesn't budge, don't go higher than $850. If it's as good as it looks, you can easily take the interior totally out, replace with another color, do a bit of work and flip it around for an easy $2000; maybe even more. Gaining yourself a snazzy $1000+ profit.

Found this yesterday at a P&P out in Daytona Beach. I've never seen this switch before, nor do I know what it does. Should I have grabbed this? Can someone shed some light on what it actually does?

1989 Jeep Comanche Pioneer 4.0 Renix / AW4 (on the column) / 231 Selec-Trac 4WD / D30-D35 / SWB Build Date: 1989 Current Location: Daytona Beach Status: Resting in LKQ of Daytona Beach, awaiting the crusher. Notes: Obviously has been rolled. Had some decent interior pieces, but nothing out of the normal. The only unique thing was the column shift. Current Owner: LKQ of Daytona Beach

Installed the 2.5 litre badge on the tailgate, along with the Jeep letters from Spence over @ Jeepstickers. Working on getting my horn fixed.... :fs1:

Heading to Daytona LKQ to scrounge around. Heard there was an MJ there. Maybe I'll find some goodies. ;)

Optimal 4x4 Gearing Q's
Zenobian_84 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Interesting points Ryan, thanks  Also noted. I find it wierd though that my factory tire pressure chart inside the glovebox has ratings for my specific tire. Going from 195 all the way to 235s. I figured the stock tires were probably 205s, but didn't think that going to 235s would put serious strain on the drivetrain. I do believe that 4:10s are what I'm going to be shooting for. Even at the very least, if I only upgrade my D35 to a 44, I'll be pretty darn happy. -
As of this moment, I'm running a 2.5 / AX-4 / D35 (with 3.55s) and will hopefully one day get my grubby hands on a donor XJ/MJ with a 2.5 and 4x4 to add said 4x4 to my own truck (plus, adding a D44 rear). My questions are: 1. If this is purely a DD rig (factory specs, no lift, no rock crawling, no running tires over the 235/75/15 size, and only the occasional light duty off-roading) when I add a 242/231 TC etc., what gear ratio is the most optimal to run? The 3.55s as they are right now do a pretty decent job of getting me where I need to go, but I don't know if the gains of going to either a 4.10 or higher is what I should look into more. 2. IIRC, there was a thread around here somewhere explaining the different Jeep gear ratios, and the pros and cons of each one. Don't know if it was just a reply to someone's thread though. :hmm: Obviously, real rock crawlers and 4x4 enthusiasts shoot for lower gearing on their off-road only rigs, but why? Is it purely just the want for that lower revolution ratio, or is there more to it than that? Can the same be said for Jeeps w/ 3.07s or 3.55s verses 4.10s and higher?

Because Chrysler was tired of throwing money at it. ...... Just kidding. :shake: But seriously, a 17 year old design with only very few updates is still old. Never driven a '96-'01 Cherokee, but my buddy's 92 rid nice, handled nice, but felt like a tank. Case in point, the Grand Wagoneer. 29 years in production with virtually very little changes. Yeah, it was still selling by the time '91 came around, but not well enough like it had in the past. I may not like it, but FWIW, the Liberty was a breath of fresh air for Jeep when it replaced the Cherokee. Now, will I ever drive a Liberty? Probably not; but that doesn't mean I can't admire some of them. :brows:

How's the build coming man? Been waiting to see if it's finally road worthy. :D  -
Project "Honcho" - The '87 MJ
Zenobian_84 replied to Zenobian_84's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Got everything as it should be. Took a bit longer than I thought, but that's alright. Still got a few things to do in the meantime. I've also discovered that my phone camera is a bugger that won't take pictures the way I want it to. :fs1: Current interior. Needs a serious cleaning :ack: but otherwise looks pretty good. Added this today. Off by only a slight bit, but that's fine. :fs1: After I clean up that paint residue, I'm ready to move to Oklahoma and chase some Twisters. ;) As if I already don't deal with enough "Twisters" as it is *coughcoughGFandherfriendscough*  At sunset tonight. Shiney :D Now with badging! Still waiting on my package from Spence, and to clean up the 2.5 emblem. Going to be hauling around junk tomorrow. Shaping up to be a fun weekend for sure. -
Tharr be plastic on the horizon captain. Very nice find irregardless, I wish my own valve cover looked that nice when I still had it on. Plastic ones work as well as the aluminum ones, it's just a matter of keeping everything in check.

Bumpity bump? :hmm:

Finished up painting today, finally. Just need to add the badges and clean some spots tomorrow. Also ordered some tailgate stickers from Spence over at Jeepstickers. Should have the Laredo moldings put on by the end of this weekend, with everything else ready to go by next Wednesday at the latest. Very pleased with all my efforts. :wrench:

5/24/2017- Made an addendum to update this thread with other, non-Jeep or AMC related graphics I may make at a later date. Carry on. - - - - - - - - - - Can't remember who it was, but somebody had a cool decal of the AMC logo with the "Toughest 4 Letter Word On Wheels" slogan from the Jeep days of old. I thought it was really sweet, but could never find one online. Knowing it was probably custom made, I decided to whip up a few and share 'em here. They're just templates, so don't expect to be wanting to order these things. If you don't like 'em, that's fine. I was just working with the most basic of designs, so... yeah. I really should have been getting some sleep {SMILIES_PATH}/umn.gifBut without further ado, here they are. # 1 - 1997+ Standard XJ/MJ Conversion #2 - 1997+ Clear Lighted XJ/MJ Conversion #3 - Standard MJ/XJ 10 Slot Grille #4 - Amber Parking Assembly MJ/XJ 10 Slot Grille

Bump. Still looking.... :help: Am willing to drive some distance; but preferably not to the north or south of the state.

 Hey, I try. Definitely looks better than my yellow devil at the moment.

This. Seriously, the idea that the Jeep marque will release a true pickup truck is as laughable as the idea that Chrysler will bring back the "Cherokee" other than just a namesake for another platform. People have been saying that Chrysler needs to bring the Cherokee back and redesign it with a better engine, and more standard comforts that are found in today's top brand cars, but seriously, the idea that that would ever happen is too small to even be believable. Even if the Cherokee platform was redesigned, and the idea of a Compact Pickup brought back (highly doubtful, as the Com. Pickup market is as good as dead in the US) Chrysler and Fiat wouldn't go anywhere with it. If they were serious about bringing back a pickup for the Jeep platform, it would have already happened. The layouts have been there going on 10 years, as well as the more-than-capable drivetrains / 4x4 Systems. Even if the Cherokee was originally an AMC idea, you would have thought the 13 year profits under the "Chrysler" banner would have meant something. You don't need to come up with your own idea to make it work. Just tweak it and make it better than the other guys did.

Total clutch system replacement
Zenobian_84 replied to AMC-MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Glad to know you're doing alright man. :wrench: Definitely have to agree with Harley4579. That's exactly how mine acted when the slave finally gave out. Replaced it with a new slave and clutch pack; haven't had any problems yet. -
 Hey, not bad! Yeah, my old man's been working there going on 13 years now. It's nice seeing another MJ around here. I guess it is a small world. :D What parts of Howey you live around? My GF lives over in Yalaha, and she used to live about a half mile from the Sunoco Gas station in Howey.
