  1. Thanks, I appreciate the nice comments. I feel honored to have my truck chosen along with the previous recipients. Nothing special about it just a plain jane. As I have said before this old truck has done me proud. A couple of months ago I probably would not have bragged on it when I was replacing the a/c evaporator and heater core. But you have to expect having thing wear out in 31 years. I plan to keep on driving it as long as I can or they plant me in the ground.
  2. "Check is in the mail" , thanks Pete for all you do!
  3. I have one you can have if you pay the shipping.
  4. I was just kidding, Were they is a will there is a way. I remember pulling a bed off my old 54 GMC and mashing a finger pretty good
  5. Question, How do get the truck bed on the truck bed?

    Mac7's Build

Welcome Mac, Looks like a nice truck from what we can see. What part of the country are you located.
  8. For $1200 I would do it again.
  9. I replaced mine about 15 years ago. If a old man can do it surely you can. The worst part was the preparation, getting the truck jacked up and on good jack stands, removing wheels & etc. I removed one arm at a time replaced the bushing and reinstalled. I do remember pressing out the old bushings wasn't easy. I went back with polyurethane bushings because I don't plan on doing it again.
  10. I bought the truck new in 1989 and for the first 15 years it was my daily transportation to and from work. During hunting season it was my hunting truck. After I retired I used it for about everything you can think of. It has hauled everything from rock and sand to furniture to lumber. I pull my boat and jet-ski with it, also a trailer for my four wheeler. I drive it almost everyday hauling something if it's just me. That it next to my wife's 4 by 4.
  11. How about the top radiator hose is it hot or cold?
  12. Good job! I couldn't help but notice the old 5 window chev pickup in the last pix, Brings back memories , I had one just like it. Put a small block V-8 in it and it would fly. I wish I still had it.
  13. Welcome. Be prepared to spend your spare time and money. Describe the shaking, In the steering wheel?
  14. Yeah, thank god for kill switches. Fortunately I didn't have an audience, I was alone. After I finally got the thing loaded up, I pulled up to the parking lot to make sure everything was secure and noticed a Sheriff's Deputy parked across the lot, in the shade probably talking to his girl friend. I don't know if he saw the circus. Anyway I'm ready to try again today with different results .....I Hope.
  15. Several months ago I decided to clean up the Seadoo handlebar controls, mostly out of boredom. I had already cleaned up and serviced my lawn equipment. This self quarantine stuff is driving me crazy. So, today, I thought would be a good time to put it in the water and try it out. Since it hasn't been wet in 2 years. I basically got the Seadoo for my grand daughters. But, since they are in Tacoma. WA in college the Seadoo hasn't seen much action. So I took the Seadoo over to the local ramp and put her in the lake. Since I was by myself I tied a rope to the Seadoo to the truck to launch it. Then I walk in around to the dock and tied it up. Took the truck and trailer and parked them in the shade. I climbed on the Seadoo put it in what I thought was neutral and started it up. Well, I wasn't in neutral it was more to the reverse position. Of course the thing took off in reverse and wide open throttle. The throttle was stuck wide open! I hit the kill switch before I ran out of rope so no harm done. The fun part was getting the thing back on the trailer by myself. The throttle cable is probably of a pulley somewhere, so now I have something to work on tomorrow.
  16. This was several years ago. I replaced the compressor, works fine now.
  17. I had a similar experience. It would be cooling just fine ,then if I stopped for any reason it would quit cooling. It was like I had shut it off. If I put it in neutral and raced the engine it would start cooling again. Found out the compressor was worn out. With the engine running, a/c on you could tap on the compressor with a hammer and it would shut off.

    Home Security

I like Smith & Wesson they appear to be the best in home security. I installed a system my brother-in -law supplied. I first have to say I am definitely not a IT guy but I was able to get it none,. Running the cat 6 was the worst part. I used a HIKVISION system plug 'n play NVR, that's what he recommended. Six cameras and I monitor it with a small flat screen. You can monitor it with a iphone but I do not want it on the internet. Works really well. I suppose you could buy this or a comparable system from a dealer.
  19. Welcome, Nice truck!

  22. I took this picture standing next to the pier in St Simons, GA. at the end of Feb. This is the huge Korean Cargo ship that rolled over in the sound leaving Brunswick,GA. last Sep. The ballast system went haywire as it was turning and it rolled over on it's side. It was on the return trip of it's maiden voyage carrying 4000 Korean auto's. They are setting up to cut it up in sections so they can remove it.
